#MeToo: From Salem to Now
American Thinker, by William Sullivan

Recognizing the problems inherent in the hysteria surrounding the #MeToo campaign, which the media and politicians are heralding as a pivotal moment in our culture, should not require a difficult intellectual exercise. It was once conventional wisdom gleaned from history. But given that modern media narratives serve more to reshape history than to appropriately understand and learn from it, perhaps a brief history discussion is in order. All you have to do is remember the first famous #MeToo campaign to take place in the Americas. Salem Village, 1692.Young girls, caught up in the frenzied hysteria of rampant devilry and witchcraft

An article whose perspective is badly needed as the media mobs, pitchforks and firebrands in hand, move from house to house in search of alleged abusers. What we´re witnessing is a reprise of the "Campus Rape Culture" cudgel, which Obama and his leftofeminist minions used to such great effect a few years ago. Every publication seems to have jumped back onto that very bandwagon that Rolling Stone clumsily crashed into a ditch and so hastily abandoned, having now rechristened it as the #MeToo juggernaut.

The first community organizer to become president has managed to anger community groups so much with his planned personal monument, aka “presidential center,” that part of the plan was just scrapped. The group Save the Midway sprang up to protect the historic public park land from a private developer (the Obama Foundation) appropriating the land for a private purpose (the Obama Center will not be part of the National Archives System) The embarrassment is palpable:
