Time to Get CNN Out of the Airports, etc.
PJ Media, by Roger L. Simon

With minor exceptions, almost everywhere one goes that is a public facility like airports, bus and railroad stations, as well as most private venues like the lobbies of banks and corporate towers and even bars and restaurants, CNN is the default cable news network hanging Big Brother-like on the wall for all to see and believe. Often it is blaring at us in elevators. This is true even though in terms of voluntary home viewership CNN trails massively behind Fox News and even the less popular MSNBC. It´s clear from years of ratings, the people, by and large and consistently, don´t

One would hope this finally gets the ball rolling towards knocking this third-rate propaganda machine out of public areas. Flying is bad enough these days without having to be cajoled in the waiting areas by the incompetent zealots at CNN.

Had a pleasant experience in the Corpus Christi airport last year. American Airlines was showing Fox News in the waiting area! Thanks, guys. My family will be flying American to Texas again this Christmas.

About a year ago, in a doctors´ suite waiting lounge, CNN was displayed on a television screen in an upper corner of the room - I remember two people looking up at the screen.

Last month, in the same suite, two television screens were displaying FOX News in two opposite corners of the large waiting lounge. About 40 people were in the room. As I looked around, 2 people were reading a newspaper; 4 people were conversing with each other; 1 person was reading a book - all of the rest were glued to the FOX News broadcast. Not a perfect scenario but a hopeful one.

Suggested strategy: A campaign of small, easily-removed (so one cannot be accused of vandalism) stick-on labels that say "FAKE". Apply them to screens showing CNN.

The channel won´t change until more people speak up. I see CNN on the TV at hospital and Dr. waiting rooms, I ask the patron/c lerk/attendant if they would change the channel. Often, they do. More often, they just tell me they don´t have the remote. Once I pointed out the remote for the receptionist, she looked at it for several seconds then turned to me and said very quietly, "I´m not allowed to change it. Sorry." Okay, not a problem. I have noticed, though, my wife´s PT office waiting room now plays a CD of old game shows instead of CNN which they used to. It´s amazing how many people now have their eyes on the TV screens.

Well, who is in charge of all the Airports in the Country? Could that person send a directive to all Airports saying ALL TV´s SHALL be tuned to FOX. If they refuse, there could be funding issues..maybe the funding could be delayed until the person in charge of TV´s gets the message from the Highest person in that Airport!! I would think Trump could get that handled in a Day!

Airports are the only time I´m forced to watch that CNN drivel. I can´t believe the number of elderly people who sit there with eyes glazed over fixated on every spoken word in the mantra. I noticed it´s typically repeated 3 times for brainwash success.

They should just play classical music instead.

Why is TV foisted on anyone who is a captive of their circumstances?
I´ve been to professional offices with both a large TV and radio music in the same waiting area.
I´m clearly not 15 anymore.

On Wednesday morning, Steve Bannon and his closest advisers were preparing a statement to atone for scorched-earth comments he’d made about President Donald Trump and his eldest son Donald Trump Jr., that had been printed in Michael Wolff’s new book on the Trump White House. But before Team Bannon was able to make its statement public, the president dropped atomic tonnage on his former White House chief strategist. “Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my Presidency,” read Trump’s statement, which as The Daily Beast reported, he personally dictated key parts of. “When he was fired, he not only lost his job,

President Trump is on TV and in newspapers more than any human on earth, and yet Michael Wolff, based on his time gossiping, has convinced the national media that grandpa got away and is now drooling in the Oval Office. Wolff’s new book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House repeatedly suggests that Trump is in a state of rapid cognitive decline and that all of his staff and associates know it. Wolff describes a person who repeats and rambles, doesn’t recognize reality, and is effectively illiterate. (Reminder: The book is about Trump, not Al Sharpton’s attempts to read a teleprompter.) The Trump administration is preparing to release guidelines soon for requiring Medicaid recipients to work, according to sources familiar with the plans, a major shift in the 50-year-old program. The guidelines will set the conditions for allowing states to add work requirements to their Medicaid programs for the first time, putting a conservative twist on the health insurance program for the poor. Democrats are gearing up for a fight, likely including lawsuits, arguing the administration is trying to undermine ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion on its own after Congress failed to repeal the health-care law. Late last year, the California board of education brought to an end a decades-long campaign to emphasize lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender historical figures in state social-studies / history textbooks, approving K-8 volumes that make identity politics of all kinds the core of the subject. California has had enormous influence on the nation’s history textbooks in the past, and single-interest groups have long flocked to Sacramento to try to gain expanded, favorable inclusion. The LGBT lobby has been notably assertive. At 1990 hearings an early textbook activist waved a huge rainbow flag, shouting Julius Caesar, Michelangelo,

There were two big money-and-politics stories in the first week of the new year: The Dow Jones soared 577 points and Steve Bannon ended his political career. Are these two events related? Perhaps more than you might think. Bannon’s peculiar notions of populism were essentially anti-growth. He believed higher taxes, ultra-protectionism, and a cheap dollar would help the middle class. Supply-siders like me know these policies only damage the economy, with the middle and lower classes suffering the most. And though Bannon was pushed out of the White House months ago, he apparently still had the president’s ear.

Firefighters don’t get snow days. Heck, on a snow day they do twice the amount of work, racing from one call to the next, tires spinning and sliding, ice and snow caked to their hats and jackets. When the alarm rings, they hustle back into their frozen boots and do it all over again. “There are no days off for the fire department. We’re here 365, Thanksgiving, Christmas,” New Bedford fire Chief Michael Gomes told me. So I spent the nor’easter embedded with New Bedford firefighters who answered every call without complaint: downed trees, power lines on fire, flooded homes and a

Vermont in particular has been hammering wind power as the path to cut carbon emissions and make the state truly green in nature. And they’ve achieved an admirable level of success, despite the fact that people living near the wind farms
