‘Thanks, Obama!’ Former president

Washington Times, by Dave Boyer

Former President Barack Obama is taking credit for the robust economic growth that is taking place under President Trump. At a conference of mayors in Chicago, Mr. Obama congratulated himself Tuesday for strong employment numbers in the U.S. this year, saying his climate-change policies have contributed to growth. “As we took these actions, we saw the U.S. economy grow consistently,” Mr. Obama said. “We saw the longest streak of job creation in American history by far, a streak that still continues by the way.” He added wryly, “Thanks, Obama.” The stock market has gained about 30 percent in value since

Maybe he needs to go back to looking at himself in the mirror and taking ´selfies´

He certainly didn´t ´build it´ but he added $10 trillion to the debt and almost brought it down. Almost everything became de-valued.

The economy grew despite Obama´s policies. Any idiot can grow the economy at less than 2% if you are running trillion dollar deficits and doubling the National Debt in 8 years. Read Burton Folsom´s excellent book New Deal or Raw Deal which chronicles how FDR prolonged the Great Depression through abuse of power and misguided anti business policies and you will get an idea of what Democrats do in a financial downturn. Thank God that Obama lost Congress in 2010 because of the Obamacare overreach. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5249492-new-deal-or-raw-deal

"Mr. Trump continues to exhibit paranoia about American intelligence agencies," wrote the NeverTrump conservative Max Boot in the New York Times a week or so before the president took office. "Consumed by his paranoia about the deep state, Donald Trump has disappeared into the fog of his own conspiracy theories," declared the Times´ Maureen Dowd. "Paranoia seizes Trump´s White House," reported Politico, noting the suspicion that "career intelligence operatives are working to undermine the new president." Actually, they were. Special prosecutors, investigators, and counsels are usually a bad idea. They are admissions that constitutionally mandated institutions don’t work — and can be rescued only by supposed superhuman moralists, who are without the innate biases inherent in human nature. The record from Lawrence Walsh to Ken Starr to Patrick Fitzgerald suggests otherwise. Originally narrow mandates inevitably expand — on the cynical theory that everyone has something embarrassing to hide. Promised “short” timelines and limited budgets are quickly forgotten. Prosecutors search for ever new crimes to justify the expense and public expectations of the special-counsel appointment. Soon the investigators need to

FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers Thursday he could not “lawfully” give them access to a confidential warrant application for permission to surveil members of the Trump campaign, but President Donald Trump could lawfully order him to do just that through his subordinates at the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ). The FBI’s Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant application would reveal whether the bureau relied upon the Steele dossier – unverified opposition research on President Donald Trump financed by the Clinton campaign – to obtain a warrant allowing them to surveil Trump campaign officials. It’s a wonder that President Trump devotes so much time to discrediting the press, when the press does so much to discredit itself. The media’s errors over the last week haven’t been marginal or coincidental, but involved blockbuster reports on one of the most dominating stories of the last year — Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. And they all slanted one way — namely, toward lurid conclusions about the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with the Russians. Every media outlet makes mistakes. It’s easier than ever to run with fragmentary or dubious information in a frenzied news cycle that never stops.

The court’s decision will either limit antidiscrimination law or limit First Amendment protections, so it’s not surprising that you can find deeply-footnoted legal arguments on both sides. Nor is it surprising that I’m on the side of the baker. But I’m not going to make a constitutional argument for his rights. I’m going to make a political argument for why our country would

One of the more obvious things about the Trump economy is how much better it is than the Obama economy. Yet incredibly, President Obama, as if jealously looking on at this night-and-day difference, is trying to claim credit for it.
