GOP-led House passes bill making
it easier for gun owners to carry
concealed weapons across state lines

Associated Press, by Matthew Daly and Richard Lardner

Original Article

Republicans rammed a bill through the House on Wednesday that would make it easier for gun owners to legally carry concealed weapons across state lines, the first significant action on guns in Congress since mass shootings in Nevada and Texas killed more than 80 people. The House approved the bill, 231-198, largely along party lines. The measure would allow gun owners with a state-issued concealed-carry permit to carry a handgun in any state that allows concealed weapons. It now goes to the Senate. Republicans said the reciprocity measure, a top priority of the National Rifle Association, would allow gun owners

The first two lines of the article tell the story so far. The rest of the article talks about Bump Stock devices.

I doubt there a human fat enough to successfully conceal such a device on his person .

I am no fan of guns but I am of the Constitution. And facts. If I´m not mistaken, states (Texas) which allow concealed weapons have much lower rates of criminal activity? Murder? Either way, it´s fairly obvious.

The gun doesn´t shoot someone, it´s the person who pulls the trigger. Crime stats show that the majority of shootings are culture related; gangbangers, people who are for/against a particular religion, or spurned lovers. States with homogeneous populations and cultures and respect for others like ME, NH, VT, MT, ND and SD have lower violent crime rates than more diverse states like IL, MD, WI and MD. Until people treat others with respect, the only question is what weapon to use to overcome someone you disagree with.

The odious carpetbagger, louise slaughter of depressed Rochester, was moaning about this in front of a camera today. Why this creep has never had to explain the amount of gun crime in Rochester despite the absolutely leftist gun ´control´ laws in NY state, is a testament to the lack of interest in the media for an honest gun debate. As bad as Rochester is, it does enforce Project Exile. NYC with it´s much more severe and unconstitutional Sullivan Laws has hundreds murdered every year and no democrat or RINO has ever had to explain the failure of the racist (anti Irish) Sullivan Laws.

Per the clear wording of the constitution, neither the federal government or the states have a say in citizens carrying weapons, concealed or not. ´...shall not be infringed.´ doesn´t leave ANY leeway for ´unless the state or locale doesn´t like it´. It´s past time for the politicians who want to infringe our rights (and this includes their pet judges and other bureaucrats, too) to be found at the end of ropes. That will send a message, as the founders intended.

I live in a constitutional carry state (no permit required for concealed carry). I do have a permit though for when I go out of state. I´ve had contact with the police several times and never had a problem. When they ask for my license and registration I put my permit with the license and advise them I have a revolver in my right coat pocket (or wherever it is) and I wont be reaching for it. They have always seemed appreciative.

#3, over 40 states have concealed carry permits which are relatively easily obtained. 12 or more states (it keeps increasing, hard to keep up to date) now have NO license required for any adult who can legally own a handgun to carry it concealed.

Crime is down, crime by CCW permitees is vanishingly small.

Amid increasing Republican attacks on Robert S. Mueller III over the scope and impartiality of his investigation of Russian campaign meddling, President Trump denied on Sunday that he had any intention of firing the special counsel. "No — no, I´m not," Trump said on Sunday as he returned to the White House from Camp David, when reporters asked if he was considering ousting Mueller, as some conservatives have urged. Earlier, the White House sought to tamp down speculation Trump would move directly against the special counsel, even as a senior Cabinet official noted the president had the authority to remove

An MSNBC spokesman confirmed Saturday the company made a separation-related payment to one of Chris Matthews employees after the woman complained about sexual harassment. Two sources familiar with the situation told The Daily Caller that Matthews paid $40,000 to settle with an assistant producer on his show, “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” in 1999 after she accused him of harassment. An MSNBC spokesperson contested that claim to the Caller, saying the company instead paid significantly less as part of a severance package. The woman complained to CNBC executives about Matthews making inappropriate comments and jokes about her while in the company

Turnout would be the key to which of the wildly conflicting polls would best presage the result of Alabama’s special Senate election, wrote Republican consultant Patrick Ruffini earlier this week. That proved correct. Statewide, turnout was down 37 percent from November 2016. It was down less, 31 percent, in the five metropolitan counties around Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile, with their black communities and most of the state’s highly educated whites. Turnout was down by even less, 28 percent, in the ten rural counties where the majority of voters are black. But it plunged 42 percent in the remaining 52

The New York Times has published a story with an accompanying chart suggesting that while President Trump has told 103 falsehoods during his first 10 months in office, President Barack Obama told just 18 throughout his entire presidency. It was a chart clearly designed to be spread widely on social media, given that it confirms all the priors of the publication´s readership. But it was also absurdly charitable to Obama. In fact, an additional analysis of Obama´s public statements, detailed below, finds that in fact, Obama had told at least 18 falsehoods in selling Obamacare in 2009 alone. To start,

Yes, she may have called Trump to concede privately that night, but I’d still have to agree that her refusal to give a speech was the wrong move. After all, not only did it seem immature and

For a year now, there’s been a myth among Republicans: the Legend of Trump. It goes something like this. Once upon a time, there was an unbeatable candidate, a world-famous politician whose husband had been president, who received unquestioning loyalty from the media. Then came the Dragonslayer: a real-estate mogul with a toilet of gold and a tongue of iron, who cut the unconquerable evil queen down to size and seized the throne from her. The laws of political gravity simply didn’t apply to him: He could utter any vulgarity, brazen through any scandal, batter down any media infrastructure. And
