Pelosi: GOP tax proposal ´the worst
bill in the history´ of Congress

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declared unequivocally on Monday that the GOP tax overhaul is the worst legislation ever considered by Congress.“I have said that this was stiff competition by some of the other things they have put forth, is the worst bill in the history of the United States Congress,” Pelosi said during House floor debate on the tax proposal. Pelosi cited the rushed process and impact on the deficit to justify her assertion. “Now, how can I make that claim? Well, because it involves more money, hurts more people, increases the deficit by so much more, and just

Maybe second worst. Or third worst. Wait, fourth worst. I´m thinking Obamacare and Obama´s tax increases would beat this. And then add the Iran deal "approval" vote, so at worst, this is the fourth worst bill ever passed.

But I´m sure it will drop as we think of more rotten bills that our Congresscritters passed.

There is one big problem that I verified again today: There is a $10k cap on SALT deduction PER PERSON. So if you are like me, retired, with a home that has $10k real estate tax, and an investment property with $30K real estate tax, you can only claim a max of $10K. This crazy rule puts me in the red. Some landlords will just hike rents, which will send more people to shelters, and investment properties values will tank, and that just might disturb the entire economy.

Senator Kampala issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Kamala D. Harris, a member of the Senate Budget Committee, issued the following statement Saturday morning on the passage of the Republican tax plan:

“The tax plan approved tonight by my Republican colleagues is shameful. Tonight, corporations and the top 1% of Americans won at the expense of middle class families. This is wrong and does not reflect the best of who we are as a country.

“At a time when corporate profits are at an all-time high and pay for workers has stagnated, my Republican colleagues have given corporations and the top 1% of Americans a permanent tax cut. This plan does this by adding $1 trillion to the deficit and asking workers and middle class families to pay for it. We should not explode the deficit and pull the rug out from the middle class to give billions to those who already have so much.

“Under this bill, 572,000 tax payers making over $1 million a year will get $34 billion in tax cuts in a single year. If you’re a senior relying on Medicare, this tax plan puts you at risk by slashing Medicare by up to $410 billion over a decade, with more than $45 billion of those cuts hitting California. And because Senate Republicans couldn’t repeal the Affordable Care Act, they’re trying to take away the health care of millions of Americans and increase the premiums for millions of Californians, by repealing the individual mandate.

“Instead of playing politics with people’s lives, we should be delivering for the American people who have spoken loud and clear that this isn’t what they want. There is a better way to reform our tax code, one that is bipartisan, transparent, and fair for all Americans.”

I would have to agree with her. By the way she voted against it.

The last democrat that liked the idea of cutting taxes was Kennedy. And he´s been gone going on 55 years.

The only "tax cuts" that democrats approve of is "tax credits" for people who dont actually pay federal taxes. In other words, redistribution.

My response is 3.9% GDP growth.

The dems SWORE that BO´s anemic economic record was the best anyone could possibly do. It was the NEW NORMAL. When Trump said he could do 3%, they ridiculed him.

Yet here we are at around 3.9%.

I think I will take Trump and the Congressmen who supported his demand for tax cuts plan rather than the dems failed ideas. The dems will bray about it. It´s all they can do.

And as bad a position as they now find themselves in, as Trump implements his winning ideas and the economy rockets ahead, the dems and the media that supports them will fall even lower. They are seeking the bottom and still digging. I like the trade off. As the GDP rises, dems crater.

That´s what dems are terrified of, solid success by Trump and proof that dems are fools. That´s what happened when Reagan succeeded and it could be an even bigger success this time. Dems have YUGE reasons to fear.

They are half-fast Commies....lazy and craven.

They aspire to total control of the "Lumpin-Pros" but settle for personal enrichment in their empires petit.
