Another anti-Trump ‘smoking gun’
turns out to be nothing

New York Post, by Editorial Board

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 12/4/2017 10:05:17 AM

Once again, a supposed big break in the drive to destroy President Trump over “collusion” with the Russians during the 2016 campaign stands exposed as nothing more than bad reporting. Plus, the professionalism of the FBI looks compromised by anti-Trump bias. The media went berserk Friday on news that former Trump confidante Mike Flynn had copped a plea deal with special counsel Bob Mueller. All the usual suspects launched an orgy of speculation on what beans Flynn “must” have spilled. It all went into overdrive when ABC’s Brian Ross reported that Flynn had been instructed to reach out to Moscow

Comments:
Little Brian Ross and his exploding cigar. Mueller’s chief investigator Strzok is outed as having been removed and moved down the hall to Human Resources (sent to purgatory) for having colluded with his enamorata, a female lawyer in the FBI investigation, and sharing anti-Trump, pro-Hillary texts. And we know there has to be more. Mueller will soon be totally naked.

I knew it was a lie when I first heard about it. There is no way that a convicted liar would ever be believed by any real jury. Of course ABC can lie all they want and win over their stupid viewers.

I thought it rich that Mueller was going after PT through Flynn when Mueller had his own little scandal.
The stupid Intelligence Comm. what to issue a Congress contempt action which is like getting a letter from Mom for not turning in a library book on time.
How about the Comm. go after Mueller for conflicts of interest, witch hunting, audit him for the $5 mil, etc.

Who allowed Brian Ross to issue his "breathless" report the other day? Someone in authority must have given the okay.

Which means someone else determined it was accurate and sourced properly, right? Or, is it all that Brian Ross lied to his bosses just to get the story out?

If someone approved the story, which then resulted in a massive stock drop, I wonder if ABC can be held somewhat liable for investor losses.

At some point, the MSM has to start questioning the veracity of their sources! Is it someone inside the FBI, the Mueller team? If so, it shouldn´t be too hard to track down where these sources come from, and how they can be so consistently wrong.

Leaks are always a problem, but when the leaks are wrong how stupid do you have to be to keep using them?

Please excuse a bit of airy-fairy philosophizing here......

When lovers of liberty make proclamations or even just ´report the news´ there is a sense of caution mixed with a hopefulness that this or that story might be right, as it would be beneficial to the interests of honest, freedom loving people everywhere. For an exemplar I give you the modest, reserved tone of Brit Hume.....a man who I have many time wished could get off the dime and cheer for the ´good guy´ but who demures and waits for the full jury to check in.

On the other side.... I give you Ms. Bejar who spikes the ball, does the splits, jumps into the crowd for a few moments of crowd surfing and ends by screaming "I told you so !!!".

During that "IFFY" period when the facts are not yet clear.....the composure of the partisans reveals a great deal about who is interested in the truth...the facts...the future.

#12, my best guess is that there is a deep IG investigation into all the upper FBI and DoJ folks, and there is so much rot and political corruption there that it is taking a long time to get all the info into a prosecuteable format.

At least that is my fervent hope. Sessions comments released yesterday gives a lot of hope that this is what is really going on.

Last Thursday it was announced that U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras was mysteriously recused from the Special Counsel case against General Mike Flynn, five days after Judge Contreras accepting the initial pleading. No explanation as to ‘why’? (Snip) The story has been memory holed into the concentric whirlpool of nothingness. We have speculated that U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras was recused, either by himself or by challenge, because he is also a FISA Court Judge and could have signed off on the October FISA warrant that led to the wiretapping and surveillance of General Flynn.

Special prosecutors, investigators, and counsels are usually a bad idea. They are admissions that constitutionally mandated institutions don’t work — and can be rescued only by supposed superhuman moralists, who are without the innate biases inherent in human nature. The record from Lawrence Walsh to Ken Starr to Patrick Fitzgerald suggests otherwise. Originally narrow mandates inevitably expand — on the cynical theory that everyone has something embarrassing to hide. Promised “short” timelines and limited budgets are quickly forgotten. Prosecutors search for ever new crimes to justify the expense and public expectations of the special-counsel appointment. Soon the investigators need to
