Paul Ryan orders mandatory anti-sexual
harassment training for entire House

Washington Times, by Stephen Dinan

Original Article

Posted By:LittleHoodedMonk, 11/14/2017 5:20:30 PM

House Speaker Paul D. Ryan said Tuesday that the entire U.S. House will now face mandatory training to avoid sexual harassment and discrimination, moving to address the growing national scandal over behavior ranging from the boorish to the criminal. His comments came hours after a House committee held a hearing on harassment. Mr. Ryan said the House will now have a policy of mandatory training for every lawmaker and every staffer. “Our goal is not only to raise awareness, but also make abundantly clear that harassment in any form has no place in this institution,” he said.

Comments:
How the worm turns. After forcing this on US at our workplaces decades ago, NOW the children on the Hill will take their turn at it. Really? What took you so long?

Yeah, that´ll help. (Horse is already out of the barn.... or some time, boys.) Is this the first time that the members have heard of sexual harassment? Too bad Teddy Kennedy is not available for training.

I have been through sexual-harassment training at least three times in my career. It amazes every time that some of my co-workers, 30- and 40-somethings, who should know better have lost their jobs for inappropriate conduct.

Ryan could hire Bill Clinton and let him teach what NOT to do if Ryan wants House members to avoid engaging in sexual harassment. It would definitely be hands-on learning! Put a film and an online quiz with it, and you would have "BLENDED" learning. Ah diversity!

Too little, too late, Ryan!

Draft Bernie is no more. The liberal activists who’d hoped to recruit Sen. Bernard Sanders to lead a new third party appear to have given up on the senator, dropping his name from their movement as they search for a new champion to pave an independent path in the next presidential election. Comprised of former Sanders staffers and volunteers, the group says the invite to Mr. Sanders still stands, but it’s changing its name from “Draft Bernie for a People’s Party” to “Movement for a People’s Party.” “We are motivated to continue whether Bernie is prepared to join us yet or not by the fact that a new party is inevitable in the United States,”

The search for a missing Argentine submarine with a crew of 44 has entered a “critical phase”, authorities have said, as the seven-day oxygen supply was due to run out today. The ARA San Juan went missing on 15 November while it was travelling from the extreme southern port of Ushuaia to the city of Mar del Plata, about 250 miles southeast of Buenos Aires. The last known communications with the submarine were two calls - one to report a routine battery fault, while the other call has not been disclosed by the Argentine Navy. Baltimore - Another federal judge has halted a proposed transgender military ban, expanding on an initial ruling issued last month against the plan by President Donald Trump´s administration. In a preliminary injunction issued Tuesday in Baltimore, U.S. District Judge Marvin Garbis ruled that transgender service members have "demonstrated that they are already suffering harmful consequences" due to the proposed ban including threat of discharge, stigma and the cancellation or delay of surgeries related to their gender transitions. The six plaintiffs in the lawsuit he reviewed have all been receiving hormone therapy.

A federal judge on Monday permanently blocked President Trump’s executive order to cut funding from so called “sanctuary cities.” Trump’s order would have removed some federal funds from cities that limit their cooperation with U.S. immigration authorities. U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick rejected the Trump administration’s argument that the measure only applies to a relatively small pool of money. Orrick also said that Trump cannot set fresh conditions on spending that Congress has previously approved. Monday’s ruling came in lawsuits brought by two California counties, Santa Clara and San Francisco.

A second federal judge has halted the Trump administration’s proposed transgender military ban, finding that active-duty service members are “already suffering harmful consequences” because of the president’s policy. The ruling Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Marvin J.
