It was déjà vu all over again as the Washington Post, who has endorsed his opponent in the Alabama Senate race, brought forth 40-year-old sexual molestation accusations against Judge Roy Moore. From Clarence Thomas, to the Duke lacrosse team, to the University of Virginia rape case, to Herman Cain, we have heard such charges before and the rush to judgment that follows. Moore’s accusers issue the boilerplate caveat that if the charges are true, he should exit the public stage immediately in shame and certainly that is true. Then they quickly throw him under the guilty-as-charged bus that just ran over
Maybe it´s just me but if was was running for the Senate and got accused of something I did out of nowhere and i was innocent,I would demand a press conference and demand my accusers come forward and tell their story.I wouldn´t sit back and wait for the spin machine to exonerate me.The same thing with Cain,i wouldn´t play it casual and hope it blows over.Cain´s no different than any other black man who achieves wealth and power. The first thing they want is a white woman.
Only one of Moore´s accusers would have been of illegal age. It´s 16 in Alabama. But, his defense about the 14 year old sure does sound weak. "Not my habit" and "don´t recall" are not exactly resounding denials. We may lose that Senate seat and I will blame Steve Bannon who wanted to oust a candidate who has voted solidly with Donald Trump.
The so-called 14 year old was actually 17 at the time. The facts don´t hold up in this coordinated attack on Moore. Main accuser is a dem operative who worked for Joe Biden and has a history of having accused many pastors from different churches of sexual abuse. Read Lame Cherry expose this morning.
To me Moore got the Clarence Thomas treatment. If he wins election the false and salacious accusation charges will always be brought up whatever he does. Roy Moore is forever tainted there is no getting back of his reputation it´s how Democrats "roll"!
Why the nasty slam against a decent and honest man, Herman Cain? When he was in the lead the left and the scummy Gloria Allred came after him full force. He has said that he did not have unlimited money like the left has to fight them. He used his personal money borrowed from his retirement pension to run. His funds were limited. When they leftist press would only ask questions about the accusations and nothing else, the contributions stopped and he could not afford to continue. He said he could not stand the pain the lies were causing his wife and family. Herman has been married to the same wife for over 40 years. He is not a race hustler or race pimp and has honestly worked for everything he has. He is not an activist or community organizer. He got an education and not an affirmative action one. He is not a bitter racist who hates white people. People who have worked with him and have known him for years respect him and, say there has never been any rumor or innuendo that he is an abusive womanizing adulterer. He got the treatment republicans get from the left and as soon as he resigned, it all stopped.
One of my favorite Christmastime presents is the Census Bureau’s end-of-the-year release of its annual population estimates for each state. Comparison of the April 1, 2010, Census enumerations and the June 30, 2017, estimates for the states shows how each state fared in the Obama years since this period includes 82 of the 96 months of the Obama administration and only five months of the Trump presidency.Who are the big population gainers? Some small units: the District of Columbia at 15 percent (big government, gentrification), North Dakota at 12 percent (fracking, which liberals failed to stop), Utah at 12 percent
We are being treated to endless warnings on how dangerous Trump´s treats are on Iran and North Korea. It reminds me of the way liberals reacted to Reagan. They said he would start the Third World War. Instead, he brought peace and prosperity to the world for 25 years while ending the Cold War. Appeasement has worked so well with North Korea and Iran, hasn´t it? We appeased the North Koreans for over twenty years while they built up their nuclear arsenal and military, and Trump is being lectured that what he is doing is dangerous? Obama and his administration ignored
President Trump’s lawyers sent a cease-and-desist letter to former White House chief strategist Stephe Bannon Wednesday ordering him to refrain from making “disparaging statement” about Trump and his family, according to a new report.ABC News reports the letter, from Trump attorney Charles Harder, accuses Bannon of breaching a non-disclosure agreement signed as part of working on Trump’s campaign. “You have breached the Agreement by, among other things, communicating with author Michael Wolff about Mr. Trump, his family members, and the Company [the Trump campaign], disclosing Confidential Information to Mr. Wolff, and making disparaging statements and in some cases outright defamatory
Kansas Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach says the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity will be “handed off” to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “more effectively” investigate voter fraud without being “stonewalled” by Democrats. In an interview with Breitbart News, Kobach said the news that President Trump is dissolving the voter fraud commission should not be grounds for leftist organizations and Democrats — who sought to stop the investigations into double voting and ballots cast by non-citizens — to celebrate, as the investigations will continue under DHS. “What’s happening is a tactical shift where the
In light of the current Iran protests, former secretary of Defense Leon Panetta told CNN that President Barack Obama should have supported the 2009 Green movement protesters in Iran. CNN´s Jake Tapper asked Panetta about the 2009 protests in an interview Tuesday evening. "Do you think the Obama administration dropped the ball by not more aggressively standing with the protesters, whether on its own or in Congress with our European allies and others?" Panetta, who directed the CIA during the protests and later served as Obama´s secretary of defense from 2011 to 2013, essentially said yes. "Well, I remember that
Airlines have canceled over 2,700 flights and extremely hazardous driving conditions are expected throughout the Eastern seaboard late Wednesday and into Thursday thanks to a major winter storm that will bring blizzard conditions from the coastlines of Maine all the way to Virginia. Most of the flight cancellations were for flights scheduled to depart or arrive at some of the large Northeast airports, including Boston´s Logan International Airport, New York´s John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark International Airport. According to FlightAware, nearly 600 flights have been delayed. The total number of cancellations for Thursday is approaching 2,800
On Wednesday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Live,” House Democratic Caucus Chairman Representative Joe Crowley (D-NY) stated that Democrats want a clean DACA bill and dubbed a border wall a waste of money.Crowley said, “I think there’s a false premise here, in other words, equating security and border security with the DACA individuals themselves. They are not a security risk to the American people. They love this country. This is the country they know and love, and they are now in a state of limbo. And unless the president, who has promised to address this issue, works to make that happen in
In an appearance on FNC’s “Fox News @ Night” on Tuesday, Kansas Secretary of State and gubernatorial hopeful Kris Kobach said any plan that gives amnesty to nearly 800,000 illegal aliens shielded from deportation by the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy would “cause a surge in illegal immigration.”He added that surge in illegal immigration should be combatted with multiple reforms, including mandatory E-Verify, which would bar employers from hiring illegal aliens for U.S. jobs. Partial transcript as follows: DACA is bad policy. It’s going to hurt … those 800,000 illegal aliens are in their 20’s and 30’s, they’re
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders faced questions Wednesday about President Trump´s plan to give out fake news awards. Will it be televised?" asked Debra Saunders of the Las Vegas Review Journal.Saunders also asked how many awards will be given out and whether the press is invited to attend the event, apparently scheduled for Monday. "I certainly don´t want to spoil anything," Sanders responded. "My guess is there are quite a few individuals who could be up for those awards." "I´ll keep you posted," she added when Saunders asked whether the press will be in the room. "It might be
New York magazine has published an excerpt from journalist Michael Wolff’s forthcoming book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," which is a purportedly blunt and deeply sourced assessment of the administration. Wolff writes that Donald Trump never actually planned to be president. He writes that Australian media tycoon Rupert Murdoch once called Trump a “fucking idiot.” Wolff also claims Trump apparently didn’t know who former House Speaker John Boehner was until after the 2016 presidential election. It is shocking stuff. It also may very well be a load of garbage. First, Wolff´s sourcing is dubious. Most of his
Companies that recycle cardboard boxes are overwhelmed after record holiday shopping online. The U.S. Postal Service estimated it would deliver 10 percent more packages in 2017 than the year before. Amazon, the leader in online shopping, said it shipped more than five billion items for Prime members in 2017. All of that cardboard is a huge recycling challenge. One after another, a train of trucks unloads at the Burbank Recycle Center near Los Angeles. Natasha Gagarin emptied an SUV packed with empty boxes -- "well over 200," she estimated. As a mom of four, this holiday season was all about convenience."Did
A public interest watchdog put one Texas County on notice for failing to disclose noncitizen registered voter records, the group says. Shortly before the holidays, the Indiana-based Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) sent a letter to attorneys representing Bexar County Elections Administrator Jacqueline Callanen to state her office is “hereby notified that it now faces federal litigation should [it] continue to deny access to requested” records related to voters that were later removed for failing to be U.S. citizens. The correspondence noted that Bexar County officials denied the group’s request to personally inspect or duplicate records on the matter in
Tax cuts. Deregulation. More for the military; less for the United Nations. The Islamic State crushed in its heartland. Assad hit with cruise missiles. Troops to Afghanistan. Arms for Ukraine. A tougher approach to North Korea. Jerusalem recognized as Israel’s capital. The Iran deal decertified. Title IX kangaroo courts on campus condemned. Yes to Keystone. No to Paris. Wall Street roaring and consumer confidence high. And, of course, Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said during a CNN appearance Tuesday it was “reprehensible” and “disturbing” for President Trump to refer to the Justice Department as the “deep state.” (Snip) He continued, “It doesn’t say anything about pledging loyalty to this president or any other and if not doing so is what constitutes being part of the ‘Deep State,’ I think that represents a fundamental misunderstanding of what this country is all about and what this government is all about and I find that characterization disturbing.” This is in reference to President Trump tweeting Tuesday morning:
New Castle police have confirmed a fire at the Clintons´ home in Chappaqua. Police declined to give further details on the fire at 15 Old House Lane where Bill and Hillary Clinton have lived for nearly 20 years after buying it for $1.7 million in 1999. But scanner reports said it was a bedroom fire and has been extinguished. The house, built in 1889, features five bedrooms over 5,232 square feet and a pool on its 1.1 acres. In fall 2016, the former president and past presidential hopeful bought the
A Democratic lawmaker in the U.S. House of Representatives berated President Trump for not spending enough time with his 11-year-old son, Barron. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) made the disgusting charge on New Year´s Eve -- when Trump, first lady Melania and Barron were all actually attending a party together. ´He golfs when he could be reading or be in church or be with his family. Never see him with Barron," Cohen wrote on Twitter. "You´d think he´d be golfing with Dad occasionally but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show." (Tweet) Cohen -- among a group of Democratic
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which I affectionately refer to as the Diseased Centers of Control, have conducted a study showing that black men make better parents than white men. The study, conducted in 2013, came to light in a recent Washington Post article on the Post´s favorite topic – you guessed it! – of racism. The study was conducted by the CDC´s Division of Vital Statistics, centering on how involved fathers are in the lives of their children. It found the following: 1) Thirty-five percent of white fathers who don´t live with their children do not eat meals
Bill Clinton may have cheated on his wife with Monica Lewinsky because he had lost confidence in her when she failed to pass healthcare reform, a new book suggests. (Snip) Author and former senior adviser to Congress K. Ward Cummings paints a scathing portrait of a president and a first lady who failed because ´compromise was not part of their vocabulary.´ Cummings writes that they were hampered by characteristics that would later haunt Hillary´s presidential run; their ´intense secrecy, the unhealthy nature of their personal power sharing, and their insistence on treating healthcare reform like a war in which everyone
Does the UN do anything besides insult America? In his New Year proclamation Sunday, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called on the nations of the world to join together in fighting nationalism, xenophobia, and climate change. (Video) Guterres stressed urgency for his message by designating it a “red alert.” “On New Year’s Day 2018, I am not issuing an appeal,” he said. “I am issuing an alert—a red alert for our world.” Guterres recalled his appeal that 2017 be a year of peace. He remarked that “in fundamental ways, the world has gone in reverse.” The UN chief maintained, “we
California would ban the sale of new cars and trucks powered by fossil fuels in 2040 under legislation introduced Wednesday in the state legislature. "We’re at an inflection point: we’ve got to address the harmful emissions that cause climate change," Democratic Assemblymember Phil Ting, the bill’s author, said in a statement. If the measure becomes law, by January 1, 2040, all new passenger vehicles sold in California would have to be so-called zero emission vehicles such as battery-electric or hydrogen fuel cell cars. More cars are sold each year in California than in any other state -- and more than in some countries.
Republicans on key congressional committees say they have uncovered new irregularities and contradictions inside the FBI’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email server. (Snip) That evidence includes passages in FBI documents stating the “sheer volume” of classified information that flowed through Clinton’s insecure emails was proof of criminality as well as an admission of false statements by one key witness in the case, the investigators said. The name of the witness is redacted from the FBI documents but lawmakers said he was an employee of a computer firm that helped maintain her personal server after she left office as America’s top
Phase two of the remaking of Trump. An internal conflict over the trajectory of the GOP’s evolution in the Trump era quietly reached a turning point in late 2017 that has become clear only in hindsight. The “originals”–who joined Trump’s campaign when no other Republican political professionals would–have been purged or sidelined. The president has opted to outsource his legislative priorities to conventional Republicans in Congress, and he has delegated the conduct of foreign affairs to responsible administration officials. The contemptible alt-right and their “America First” allies are beside themselves even as erstwhile Trump skeptics in the GOP are suddenly
The FBI director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein met with House Speaker Paul Ryan late Wednesday afternoon, the same day lawmakers were demanding that they turn over documents to the House Intelligence panel about the Trump-Russia collusion probe. A Ryan spokeswoman declined to discuss the purpose for the meeting other than that it came at the request of Wray and Rosenstein. The meeting comes as the House Intelligence Committee weighs possible contempt of Congress charges against the two officials. Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has accused the men of withholding information about the handling of the Trump-Russia
After serving seven terms as Utah´s senator, Orrin Hatch announced Tuesday he plans to retire. "When the President visited Utah last month, he said I was a fighter. I´ve always been a fighter. I was an amateur boxer in my youth, and I brought that fighting spirit with me to Washington. But every good fighter knows when to hang up the gloves. And for me, that time is soon approaching," he said in a video. The senator said when his term ends he will not seek re-election. "I´m deeply grateful for the privilege you´ve given me to serve as your
