Senate Plan Could Increase Taxes

New York Times, by Jim Tankersley & Ben Casselman

WASHINGTON — Mitch McConnell, the Senate majority leader, acknowledged on Friday that the Republican tax plan might result in a tax hike for some working Americans, saying he “misspoke” days earlier when he said that “nobody in the middle class is going to get a tax increase” under the Senate bill. “I misspoke on that,” Mr. McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, said in an interview on Friday with The New York Times. “You can’t guarantee that absolutely no one sees a tax increase, but what we are doing is targeting levels of income and looking at the average in those levels and

Comments:
This is going to be another unmitigated disaster for the Republicans. So far there isn´t much I have seen that is really exceptional about either of the bills. And you will never convince me that McConnell (and the rest of his RINO buddies) isn´t purposefully sabotaging Trump, again. Anything that Trump has proposed that is beneficial for us he is against. I despise that evil, worthless jerk. I don´t buy the BS that he´s such an savvy politician. He´s savvy and diligent only when his quest is to destroy Trump or any conservative candidate in a political campaign.

McConnell is the lowest rated member of the Senate.
The New York times is a diaper rash.

I don´t relish either one in finding truth.

Both are driven by agenda.

They spent like drunk sailors the last 8 years under Obama and that "no budget" Administration of his. And it´s the same Congress that never demanded Obama produce one single budget and stick to it, instead running the government nearly to "shutdown" over and over to get spending increased, until he left office.

Now these lazy louts want to make us middle-class taxpayers pay for all of THEIR past sins.

Every one of them needs to be fired starting with Mitch.

With more people being added to the rolls of those that pay no federal income taxes at all, and Congress´s stated goal of not affecting total revenue, that means you are going to pay more to subsidize tax cuts for other people. Both the Senate and House bills are monstrosities, a bad nightmare, without anything to do with honesty, tax cuts for those that pay them, and cutting the size of government.

McConnell has to go one way or another. The senate will be better for it. We need a MAGA leader there. My opinion is that McConnell and Ryan want to lose the majority, then when the democrats are in charge again, they can start impeachment proceedings. That is how they are planning on getting rid of Trump.

Establishment republicans WANT to be in the minority. That´s how their personal power works. With Dem majority, the Grahams and McConnells can safely make all sorts of pledges to conservative voters without having to deliver. Under the table they work with Dems to grow government and give special benefits to their donors.

It pretty clear that the establishment Republicans in Congress who in reality make up the Republican faction of the DC Uniparty are moving according to plan to sabotage all President Trump’s (outsider) initiated reforms.

That Republican faction just about always goes along to get along with the liberal Democrats who still actually control the Congress, and are not about to actually facilitate any major legislation that the liberal Democrats oppose.

Clearly the current Republican congressional leadership is not fit for purpose and would be pleased as punch to be back in the minority where they would have little responsibility as Democrat sponsored legislation moved ahead, while on trips back home they would continue to pile rhetorical “Snow jobs” on their constituents. Right now President Trump is fighting a very deep and dangerous swamp that the American people sent him to DC to drain.

First - this is from the NYT, so is certainly chock full of lies, misinformation and propaganda. DO NOT take the NYT as fact, ever.

However, I have seen some of the proposals from the Senate in other sources. Since we haven´t seen a final bill, they are are certainly full of Fake News, too. Wait until we see a bill before getting too cranked up.

The biggest screwup, if they are really considering it, would be delaying the most important part, the corporate tax reduction for one to four years. We need this to grow the economy, grow jobs, increase paychecks across the board. This is crucial.

If the Senate really goes down this path, it will be a disaster. IMO, certain Senators are intending to block all good bills and thereby destroy Trump, and will instead destroy themselves. Fortunately, two will be gone after the next election.

There were disturbing revelations out of the FBI over the weekend when it was made public that the Bureau had somehow lost roughly 400 text messages between an anti-Trump investigator and a lawyer he was romantically involved with. (Snip) But despite this bombshell news, the three major network news outlets (ABC, CBS, and NBC) have been dead silent. President Donald Trump imposed steep tariffs on imported solar cells on Monday in response to a trade case brought by U.S. solar manufacturers charging that cheap imports, particularly from China, were harming domestic solar companies. The United States trade representative, Robert Lighthizer, announced that the president had decided to impose the tariffs, accepting the recommendation of the administration’s trade advisors. The United States International Trade Commission, an independent body of trade experts, had engaged in “an exhaustive process” to examine the charges filed by American businesses and concluded that U.S. producers had been “seriously injured” by imports. “The President’s action

Senate Democrats shut the government down in hopes of striking a deal to shield 700,000 young immigrants from deportation. In the end, they got a promise of a vote — one that Republicans argue was going to happen, anyway. Democrats lost the shutdown war. That much was obvious when they voted to re-open the government with little to show for it. They had vowed for weeks not to back any funding bill without a bipartisan agreement to protect so-called Dreamers. But as Washington entered day three of a government shutdown, Democrats folded, voting to reopen the government barely any closer to
