Podesta Group CEO Quits

The longtime chief executive officer of the Podesta Group is leaving the firm to start her own lobbying shop, according to a report released Thursday. Kimberley Fritts, the CEO of the Podesta Group, announced she’s resigning in a staff wide meeting Thursday afternoon, distancing herself from the Podesta family to start her own lobbying firm, three Podesta Group staffers told Politico. Fritts’ departure comes just weeks after former CEO Tony Podesta stepped down from the company and handed over control to Fritts amid reports that Podesta’s lobbying firm was a subject of investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller. Podesta and

That´s certainly interesting timing isn´t it. Is she getting out before the whole thing collapses or she knows something? It´s all well and good that they may be going after Tony Podesta, but if they still leave Clinton untouched it will be one of the greatest travesties in American history. I fear that´s exactly what will happen.

"...According to Mr. Goldstone’s account, he moved from local journalism to work for Rupert Murdoch’s best-selling British daily newspaper The Sun and other tabloids before turning to public relations for pop stars. This career path happens to be ideal training in what Russian intelligence agencies call “kompromat,” because smear campaigns based on opposition research are a core business strategy of Britain’s popular press."

Sen. Cory Gardner, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said the Senate should vote to expel Roy Moore if the Alabama GOP Senate candidate wins the Dec. 12 election. "I believe the individuals speaking out against Roy Moore spoke with courage and truth, proving he is unfit to serve in the United States Senate and he should not run for office," Gardner wrote in a statement. "If he refuses to withdraw and wins, the Senate should vote to expel him, because he does not meet the ethical and moral requirements of the United States Senate." ORIGINAL STORY: Senate

A woman on Monday alleged that Roy Moore, the Republican nominee for Senate in Alabama sexually assaulted her when she was a minor. Beverly Young Nelson said Moore groped her and tried to force her to perform oral sex when she was 16 and she worked at a restaurant that Moore frequented. In a statement, Nelson said that Moore attacked her in his car after offering her a ride home. According to Nelson, instead of driving her home, Moore parked in a lot behind the restaurant. The judge in the corruption trial for Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) ordered the jury to continue working after jurors said they were deadlocked on all charges. U.S. District Judge William Walls ordered the jury to “clear their heads” on Monday and return to court the next day, CNN reported Monday. The jury had restarted deliberations earlier Monday after initially beginning them last week. Prosecutors claim that Menendez was part of a bribery scheme with Florida ophthalmologist Dr. Salomon Melgen, claiming Melgen gave donations and gifts to the senator in exchange for political favors. Both men have denied all charges.

Nearly 30,000 foreigners from state sponsors of terrorism have gotten visas since 2007 through the diversity visa lottery. President Donald Trump wants Congress to end the program, which benefits foreigners from nations that don’t have high levels of immigration to the U.S. He increased his public pressure against the program after an Uzbek recipient of the diversity visa lottery allegedly killed eight in a recent terrorist attack in New York City. Statistics released by the White House Monday show that since 2007 the program has given permanent residence visas — green cards — to 20,739 Iranians, 7,232 Sudanese and 812 Syrians. The program

The target of a Fusion GPS opposition research investigation is accusing the firm, best known for its work on the Trump dossier, of assisting the Kremlin in its effort to have him “imprisoned and killed.” The strong allegation comes from Bill Browder, a London-based banker who spearheaded the Magnitsky Act, a sanctions law vehemently opposed by the Russian government. Browder made the allegation in response to the recent revelation that Fusion GPS and its founder Glenn Simpson compiled what he says is false information about him that was given to Yuri Chaika, Russia’s prosecutor general, and to Donald Trump Jr.

Former CIA Director John O. Brennan and ex-Director of National Intelligence James R. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday called for GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore to "step aside," according to the Associated Press. His comments come after a report in The Washington Post in which a woman accused Moore of initiating sexual contact with her in 1979, when she was 14 and he was 32. McConnell was asked if he believes the allegations are true. "I believe the women," he said. Moore has repeatedly denied the allegations. On the anniversary of Donald Trump´s victory, many conservatives were delighted watching the outrageous video meltdowns of the leftwing media. They should be afraid rather than amused. The anger and disappointment over Hillary Clinton´s 2016 loss is not only unprecedented, it´s inexplicable. These are supposedly intelligent, educated professionals and yet their anguish has in some cases turned to unbridled hatred towards the voters who dared to think for themselves. We have been labeled deplorable, moronic, racists and despicable even though these so-called failed political prognosticators have no idea who we really are.

The explosive book by the former head of the Democratic National Committee is rocking the political world with its tales of Hillary Clinton’s brazen corruption and tawdry deceits. To add extra punch to her insider’s account, Brazile is telling interviewers that Clinton’s 2016 campaign was “sterile” and a “cult,” and mocking it as sexless and joyless. She even writes that she considered trying to replace Clinton as the nominee over health concerns after the candidate collapsed at the 9/11 anniversary ceremony, a fact that demolishes the myth that suspicions about Clinton’s

“If these allegations are true,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Thursday, “he must step aside.” That was the typical Republican reaction to the accusation that Roy Moore, Alabama´s GOP nominee for the Senate, sexually accosted a 14-year-old girl when he was a local prosecutor decades ago. This is the most reasonable position. A child sex predator does not belong in the Senate and certainly does not deserve the support of the Republican Party. Second, there’s got to be some presumption of innocence. Whether the accusation is of sexual assault, public corruption, or anything else, an accusation is not proof

He decried in particular the state of oceans, where overfishing and pollution by plastics are threatening fish stocks and sea life that are critical to Pacific livelihoods. He said several causes
