Melania Trump was all bundled up for her trip to Alaska, where she met with military families and children at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The 47-year-old first lady looked cozy, yet chic as she stepped off the aircraft in Anchorage in a $2,690 Ralph Lauren down coat and headed to meet with children who participate in the Paws to Read program at the military base. While Melania was in Alaska with her husband´s son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner, President Trump traveled to Vietnam with White House Communications Director Hope Hicks. Thankfully, the beautiful photos of Mrs. Trump make the snippy insertions about an attractive WH staffer and the President somehow leaving his wife behind read as the gossipy garbage it is.

Mrs. Trump continues to do a fabulous job on these foreign trips just like the President.

God bless POTUS and FLOTUS.

Who remembers those 2nd tier and newbie fashion designers who - courting the liberal media - refused to dress Melania Trump after the elections?! Melania Trump wears couture with ease and her fashion style as First Lady represents the US well.

I really love seeing our First Lady with children on this trip. Almost every photo I´ve seen, she seems so genuinely happy, interacting with them, while the kids just seem delighted to be with her, as well. It really warms my heart and makes me feel so proud to have a First Lady who´s such a positive reflection of our country and all that´s good about it!

This lovely young staffer needs to have less "smoky eye" and cover girl pouts. Professional clothing, makeup, and demeanor are called for. When she gets back to DC she can work hard to be the belle of the ball within her own social circle.

With the sexy makeup and tuxedo getup she knew what she was doing. Feigning ignorance is a bit passive-aggressive.

The first ladies of the U.S. and the country being visited are the women of the moment. To compete with them for the spotlight is immature and just plain bad form. A gracious guest does not try to upstage the bride.

As always, dear friends, YMMV.

The mood on the international conference call at the beginning of this month was somber as Ian Bremmer, president of the political risk consulting firm Eurasia Group, prepared to list off top global dangers in the coming year. Bremmer began with a show-stopping line:"If we had to pick one year for a big unexpected crisis — the geopolitical equivalent of the 2008 financial meltdown — it feels like 2018." The reasons are many, Bremmer cited, but the most prominent causes for global insecurity stem from U.S. President Donald Trump´s move away from global leadership, and China´s eagerness to fill the

Trump is having a ball, for good reasons.Trump´s first year as president may have been the most extraordinary since the 1840s. While Trump has disrupted almost all presidential governance and communication norms, his tenure so far has produced capital market gains of some $7 trillion, spreading investment wealth to millions of regular Joes and Marys, while tax cuts have already distributed $3 billion in bonuses and wage hikes to over 2 million workers and counting.

Democrats called it the Trump shutdown. Republicans labeled it the Schumer shutdown. But in reality, it was the Dreamer shutdown. The recipe for the current congressional gridlock is complex, but at the top of the list of ingredients are the illegal immigrant Dreamers who pushed Democrats to launch the filibuster that sent the government careening into a partial shutdown. It’s a stunning display of political leverage for a group that, at most, numbers several million, can’t vote now, and even under the most generous proposals wouldn’t be able to cast ballots for another decade. Congressional investigators believe they are barely beginning to answer the questions raised by the text messages between the FBI´s Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. For several reasons: 1) Strzok and Page were more prolific texters than anyone knew. In a statement late Monday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said FBI investigators have found "over 50,000 texts" in their review of Strzok-Page communications. 2) Even with all those texts, the FBI says it cannot find the couple´s messages between Dec. 14, 2016, and May 17, 2017 — a critical time in the Trump-Russia affair.
