LGBT characters on U.S.

LOS ANGELES - The number of lesbian, gay and transgender characters on U.S. television shows have reached record highs, and campaign group GLAAD said on Thursday that their stories were more important than ever given moves in the United States to roll back LGBT acceptance. In it annual report on diversity on the small screen, GLAAD found 329 regular and recurring LGBTQ characters across all broadcast, cable and streaming TV platforms, including the first asexual and non-binary characters. GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis said TV was a critical place for the portrayal of LGBTQ characters and their lives. “At a

Comments:
Heavy sigh. At the rate they are going we will never again see a white ´normal´ male or female cast on any show. In the link below they don´t show as high a number, but yet they complain there still isn´t enough diversity. Good. Grief. I´m sick to death of diversity!! Those reruns of Frazier, Johnny Carson, etc. look better each and every day. Other than This is Us, there are no other shows I watched on network TV. That show has also been ruined.

Contd. This Is Us which was pretty good last season. One of the first new episodes featured an Obama/Biden sticker on a refrigerator. They just can´t help themselves. They are turning Kevin into a drug addict. Who needs that? Recently Mandy Moore reported that she praised her mom and two brothers who came out as gay. Amazing. I quit watching the show, so did my sister who loved it. Leftists destroy everything.

We cut the cable this week. One reason was the “in your face” LGBT queer stuff that has become so pervasive on TV. We will just watch less TV, read and listen to music...from the 50s and 60s. I wrote lots of letters to the networks that have gone unanswered and unheeded. Adios to the networks, football and all of the rest of pop culture.

I refuse to watch them. Was enjoying Supergirl. No more. I thought the Orville would be good but they´ve screwed that up quick. Didn´t even bother watching the new Star Trek. Fortunately, there are plenty of old shows that do not have characters with such problems, shows you don´t have to worry about children watching, shows that don´t disgust you.

I watch a lot of shows from Canada, and Australia. Every single one of them has lgbt couples and many sex scenes. Light comedy, drama´s you name it. I am like, oh here comes the gratuitous, politically correct gay couple.

Two thoughts.
I read an article that said some birth control pills that were in fashion a generation ago, seemed to result in more homosexuals born in the second generation, i.e the grandchildren of the pill takers. Although, statistics still show that only a very tiny percentage of Americans are homosexual (i.e. far less than you would think given the prevalence of homosexual characters depicted in television shows). Of course, these statistics are suppressed or hidden by the media.

Second, the broadcasters are so concerned about the declining percentage of Americans who watch the major television channels and the shows these producers knock themselves out trying to produce and promote each year, as well as the increasing number of people who are cutting the cable entirely. Yet these television executives live in such an insulated Leftist narrative bubble, they never realize what is causing so many people to lose interest in television. The shows they put on may be reflective of society in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City and other large urban areas, but they are not reflective of most people´s communities.

Judging by the number of LGBT characters on TV and cable, half the United States is gay rather than just the 1.5-2% it actually is.

It seems like many of the ads I see on TV are for male enhancement products so I guess “most” men who watch must be in the market. Sad commentary on our culture. Does anybody know of any current TV shows about what used to be called “normal” people and families? I can’t convince myself to watch and find out.

FTA: group GLAAD said on Thursday that their stories were more important than ever given moves in the United States to roll back LGBT acceptance.

They have the cart before the horse. They became obnoxious before people started turning them off.

I have much less tolerance for the "LGBT community" every time I am forced to to watch a show with the gratuitous "gay married couple" or the "brave transgender" it forced into a story where it is not only unnecessary, but detracts from the storyline.

Three decades ago I was on the frontlines, I loved my gay uncle and felt he "deserved" to be treated equally. He often said, no one cares what happens behind my married sister´s bedroom door, no one cares what happens behind my married brother´s bedroom door, why should anyone care what happens behind my bedroom door?"

But it is never behind the bedroom door anymore...it is shoved down our throats, whether we agree or not. It is practised out in the open, on the streets where my innocent grandchildren walk, and they deserve a childhood without explicit sex--gay or straight--every where you turn.

The number of LGBTQ characters may be up but I would bet my last dollar that the viewer statistics are down. I hear conversations all the time by people I know who have ditched their cable and are happier (and richer) for it. I watch one show other than the news and as soon as they introduce this nonsense mine is gone too.

One evening way back in the late 90’s I picked up the remote and clicked through about 80 of the 200 or so channels we had on our cable. It was all garbage. So I quit watching television completely. I suggested to hubby that we get rid of the appliance altogether, but he loves to watch college sports so it stayed.

Sometime around 2007 I started watching NCIS because it was largely positive about the military and made no bones about the evils of Islamic terrorism. Then it got politically correct, added a homosexual character and finally started defending terrorists in Gitmo and illegal aliens.

Now I’m back to no television at all. I read, play with my dogs, do needlework, sudoku, etc. Much healthier.

Since the 1970´s, white men have had the need to judge any content based on the race, religion or sex of the speaker socially excised. To now watch the rest of society do so in spades is so very entertaining. I keep throwing out lines like, "I only vote for people who share the same genitalia" and "I only watch characters who look like me" in social settings and watch ensuing, tortured reaction. Had a friend post on facebook last month how excited whe was to take her daughters to the new Star Trek because the Captain was female. Responded that it never occurred to me to pick my son´s entertainment based on people that look like him and the reaction was so tortured as to be hysterical. It´s time to call the Left on this nonsense; call them out as the racist/sexist/heterophobes that they are.

One year after losing the presidential race, 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is still questioning the “legitimacy” of President Trump’s victory, accusing Republicans of voter suppression tactics in swing states and Russians of influencing votes through a “disinformation campaign.” “I think that there are lots of questions about its legitimacy,” Clinton said of the election during a video interview posted online Friday by the liberal Mother Jones website. Clinton lamented how “we don’t have a method for contesting” the election in the United States and called for an independent commission to “get to the bottom of what happened.” She suggested that she

NBC host Megyn Kelly said President Trump is being hypocritical for condemning Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., for sexually harassing and assaulting a woman. "Who that has been accused of sexual assault would have the gall to preach to others about sexual misconduct. How infuriating that would be. How tone deaf, Mr. President," Kelly said on NBC´s "Today" show Friday morning. Trump had tweeted Thursday night that Franken should not be advocating for respect of women. "And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape?" Trump

NEW YORK — Kirsten Gillibrand is having a moment, whether she meant to or not. Going where no other prominent Democrat had before on Thursday evening by declaring that Bill Clinton should have resigned the presidency during the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the New York senator and potential 2020 presidential contender yet again found herself the face of a national conversation with the potential to dominate headlines and divide her party. At a time Democrats are desperate to keep the focus on accusations against President Donald Trump and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, Gillibrand’s stand shocked even some of her close allies. They

A Democratic congresswoman says she was sexually assaulted by a “prominent, historical” senator in the 1980s — and “everyone on Capitol Hill knew” that he was a harasser. “Historical figure, hand kept going up the leg, I took it off. A women member was at the table, recognized what was happening, and said, ‘switch places,´” Michigan Rep. Debbie Dingell told CNN. (Snip) Dingell said it happened in her first year of marriage to Rep. John Dingell, whom she wed in 1981. But despite the 36-year time gap, Dingell said she’s still afraid to name the prominent perv.

Apparently, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un had a unique idea for farmers when they fertilize their crops, and it’s causing a wave of parasitic infections across the country: Use human excrement.According to Yahoo News, in 2014 Kim Jong-un instructed farmers to mix human feces with animal waste and organic compost to make fertilizer for their fields. Yahoo notes, “With a lack of livestock to provide animal fertilizer, agriculturists poured the human excrement, also known as ‘night soil,’ on their fields.”Choi Min-Ho, a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine who specializes in parasites, told Reuters, “Although we do not

The Department of Justice will soon commence an investigation to determine whether there should be an investigation (you read that nonsense correctly) of a scandal involving the Clinton Foundation and a company called Uranium One. It appears that FBI decisions made during the time that Hillary Clinton was being investigated for espionage will also be investigated to see whether there should be an investigation to determine whether she was properly investigated. (Again, you read that nonsense correctly.) Only the government can relate nonsense with a straight face. Here is the back story. When President Donald Trump fired FBI Director Jim Comey last

WASHINGTON — Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Democrat of New York, who holds Hillary Clinton’s former seat, said on Thursday that Bill Clinton should have resigned the presidency after his inappropriate relationship with an intern came to light nearly 20 years ago. Asked directly if she believed Mr. Clinton should have stepped down at the time, Ms. Gillibrand took a long pause and said, “Yes, I think that is the appropriate response.” But she also appeared to signal that what is currently considered a fireable offense may have been more often overlooked during the Clinton era. “Things have changed today, and I think under those

It was a lob ball and Sanders hit it out of the park. April Ryan: I was talking to Hillary Clinton today about the president’s past and she said, “Look I worry about everything from his past because it tells you how he behaves in the present and the future.” What do you say to that as it

Gov. Chris Christie refrained from saying "I told you so" when he introduced Ivanka Trump at an appearance in Bayville earlier this week. But he had every right to, especially when it comes to the recent developments concerning his old rival Jeff Sessions. During the presidential campaign last year, the governor of New Jersey and the then-Senator from Alabama were among the first prominent Republicans to come out for Donald Trump. At one point in that campaign, Trump said Christie would make "a great attorney general" in the event he won the election. Trump went on to win, but Christie lost
