Malware keeps getting smarter at ways to get your money. And a new version of Zeus Panda malware has some scary smarts. According to a blog post by Cisco-owned Talos, the Zeus Panda malware essentially “poisons” Google search results to push fake bank-related results to the top of a key word search. Then, the unwary user, looking for quick answers to a search related to their bank, is fooled into clicking on malicious links. The malware utilizes search engine optimization (SEO) “to make their malicious links more prevalent in the search results…[which] will enable the attacker to quickly obtain credentials, banking

I get hundreds of phishing and malware e-mails every day, clicked on one years ago (Apple related e-mail) never again. Block them all and send to spam and immediately delete. One clue, take a look at the originating e mail address...if it is gobbledygook, delete!

You got it, #4, use the exact URL every time and if you MUST search for something, study the URL for obvious signs of foreign origin or deliberate misdirection. If it´s not .com, .org, .gov, .edu or one of the familiar ones, do not click on it.

One clue, phishing never uses your name they say dear customer etc. The fake phone calls never use names either. I answered one day & ask them who they wanted to speak to... they disconnected?? Frankly, I would never google my bank. Maybe you shouldn´t have a bank account if you have to goggle your own bank.
