Monumental McCain hypocrisy on Roy Moore
American Thinker, by Thomas Lifson

Original Article

Posted By:ScarletPimpernel, 11/10/2017 2:41:47 PM

I am really sorry that John McCain suffers from a brain affliction, but he continues to play an active role in politics, and so I must call him out when he does something really outrageous. Yesterday, Sen. McCain called on Judge Roy Moore to "immediately step aside" after unproven allegations of sexual impropriety were published in a liberal newspaper. No waffling about "if true..." That is a standard Senator McCain did not apply to himself under similar circumstances. During his 2008 presidential bid, the New York Times published a story alleging sexual misconduct with a female lobbyist. McCain fought it.

Not much more to the article but since it is from Tom Lifson, I´m posting it.

Yes, McCain is a monumental hypocrite. Of course Roy Moore would have to step down if these allegations are true. Who would disagree with that? But we don´t know if they are true, and if you don´t have the facts, if you don´t have proof, the first thing that comes out of your mouth should not be that someone should step aside. That´s also where the smear is if these accusations are false.

A smear isn´t just the spreading of falsehoods, it´s also jumping the gun for the purpose of creating doubt and sullying someone´s reputation. I don´t know if that is happening here, but whether or not you like Roy Moore, the standard should be the same for everyone.

About a week before McCain´s presidential election didn´t someone accuse him of having an affair & everyone jumped to defend him even though he had previously committed adultry. It´s all about McCain, Ryan, McConnell,Flake etc destroying Bannon & Moore ...they don´t fit in the fake republican mold in DC. For pete sake it came from the WP the most anti Trump paper in the world.

We all know, including McCain, that there is no way to prove these charges. These last minute shenanigans should be disallowed when there is no time to look into the accusers´ stories. This is a typical Democrat and Media dirty trick. The RINOs don´t want someone who will vote for Trump´s agenda so, of course, they will join the Democrats here. Unfortunately, these smear tactic usually works.

If you do and yet called for Moore to step down you are willing to let all hell break loose where everybody can be called upon to step down. I´ll be the first to accuse Pelosi Schumer, ect. of human trafficking and cannibalism. I call on you to step down for foolishly threatening any semblance of order and due process.

Issues of character and personal conduct are tough, and thorny. And very VERY important.
I yield to none in my distrust of, and contempt for, the weasels of the GOP-e and slimy illegitimi like McCain, McConnell, and Romney. A pox on them all.
But ...
I spoke a few minutes ago with someone we knew while living in central Alabama several years ago. She knew (meaning, had met, and nothing more) Mr. Moore via a mutual contact (not a friend) who was an area manager for a southern restaurant chain. It would seem that Mr. Moore had a well-known habit of pinching the servers (female) on the backside, brushing the bosoms, making various HIGHLY appropriate comments, and much else. It would appear that this was NOT a one-time bit of bad judgement 30+ years ago and conveniently trotted out to embarrass him, but a continuing pattern of rotten conduct.
I am sorry to say that I used to have a very high opinion of him. That vanished less than half an hour ago, and will not return.
I urge him to leave the race, change his name, and vanish.

Perhaps someone should look into then Captain John McCains 1980 treatment of subordinate Petty Officer Crystal B***** USN while he headed the Navy’s Office of Legislative Affaires of Capitol Hill. And what his treatment of this woman had on his Navy career. The whole matter was swept under the rug and he was quietly allowed to retire from the Navy.

Few societies have gone through as wrenching changes in behavior and social norms in the past forty years as America has. We can scarcely recognize the social mores and attitudes then from today’s perspective. But as L.P. Hartley put it: “The past is a foreign country.
