A juror, who was excused from the bribery trial of Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), said Thursday she would have found the New Jersey lawmaker "not guilty on every charge” if she had remained on the jury. “I feel like the government was very corrupted, not that Menendez was. That they were, to me, railroading him. This is how I feel. Personally, he’s not guilty on all counts," Evelyn Arroyo-Maultsby said, according to Politico. "I don’t think he did anything wrong,” she added at the end of the jury´s third day of deliberations. U.S. District Judge William Walls had promised Arroyo-Maultsby

When you live in New Jersey things that look like crimes everywhere else don´t look like crimes there. The people are well conditioned by years of corrupt politicians working hand-in-hand with organized crime.

#2 - case to case, trial attorneys have different reasons for picking different jurors. But, one thing that both prosecutors and defense attorneys seek out is stupid/uneducated jurors. They are more malleable. The more uninformed you are, the more apathetic you are, the more valuable you are to the trial attorney.

If you doubt me on this, read legendary trial attorney Gerry Spence on the importance and process of voir dire... he is perfectly frank about the need to pick twelve honest fools, if you want to win.

I also was called a few times for jury duty.
During jury selection, as soon as I said that I was a senior mechanical design engineer, I saw the defense attorney make a mark on his paper.
I was excused.

Anyone else notice that there is a near total news blackout on the Menendez trial?

There has been more coverage -just today- of allegations against judge Roy Moore about something he is accused of that supposedly happened FORTY YEARS ago, than there has been for the -weeks?, months?- of the Menendez trial.
My thinking is that if Menendez had been a conservative or a Republican, each trivial detail would have been forced on us all at the top-of-the-hour news EVERY DAY.

Famed engineer Marc Isambard Brunel lost a bid to design the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC, 224 years ago. Now, his design has been revealed after being tucked away in a large album in the Brunel family archive for more than 150 years. The drawing is tipped to sell at the auction in London on Wednesday for $19,600 (£15,000). Brunel, who went on to design the Thames Tunnel in London and was the father of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, submitted his plans to a committee which was appointed to choose the design for the Capitol Hill building in 1793. Black Christian Conservative Republican Lloyd Marcus here. I call upon all my fellow Christians not to abandon our brother Roy Moore who is running for U.S. Senate Alabama. Right before the election, 40-year-old sexual misconduct allegations have come out against Judge Moore, which he has denied. Judge Moore is hated by Leftists and establishment Republicans because he is an outspoken, character-driven Christian conservative; a faithful courageous defender of our Constitution, principles and values which have made America great. Moore elected to the U.S. Senate would be extremely helpful to Trump draining the swamp and making America great again. Judge Moore´s
