Draining Foggy Bottom

President Trump´s biggest changes in Washington are at its oldest institution, the Department of State, which is located in the Foggy Bottom section of D.C. Trump is thinning the ranks of career diplomats, which their union president protested. From Ambassador Barbara Stephenson, the president of the American Foreign Service Association union: There is no denying that our leadership ranks are being depleted at a dizzying speed, due in part to the decision to slash promotion numbers by more than half. The Foreign Service officer corps at State has lost 60 percent of its Career Ambassadors since January. (Snip) But American frustration with

FTA (words of the union ambassador): "These numbers are hard to square with the stated agenda of making State and the Foreign Service stronger. Were the U.S. military to face such a decapitation of its leadership ranks, I would expect a public outcry."

The U.S. Military WAS decapitated during the 16 years of Clinton and Obama, and they were hamstrung during the Bush43 years.

I hope the true patriots are being saved and swamp creatures not only neutralized, but their deeds brought out into the light.

I´ve often wondered what it has been like in the military and deep state -- with so much internal agenda driven power struggles going on. What are the criteria of a patriot vs an enemy of the constitution and country. How do you recognize each other and make yourselves known without risking being eliminated?

If the Obama/Hillary plan had continued, who in the military or deep state would have been working to keep the nation protected? What means did they have.

The left wants to label us "nationalists", "rebels", "white supremacists", "gun-toting, bible banging, legalistic, uneducated, rigid, conservatives"

How do you drain a swamp filled with alligators? Quietly, during the nighttime hours, start a hose running. The alligators don´t realize the swamp is getting smaller and smaller until one day...no water!

Maybe with less employees and less budget the rest of the globe will be safe from DOS nation building(meddling). Let´s recall some real success stories..Arab Spring, pallets of cash to Iran, uranium to Russia,Libya now infested with terrorists, throwing Hondurans under the bus. Yes indeed, they are skilled professionals alright and it takes years to groom the socialist hacks.

The State Department is the stereotype agency of bureaucrats- of the worst kind! People who think, because they went to Ivy League Universities, that they are smarter than others. They are not smarter, just have inflated egos and inflated sense of self value. I have dealt with these people (not the field officers) many times over the years. I was never impressed.

Post a list of the State Dept employees and description of their duties, including a summary of their accomplishments since being hired. No need to name them, just assign a number and give the list to John Bolton or someone like him with the ability to fire any of them he chooses- or put them online and let us do it.

WASHINGTON — After making the transition from comedy to politics, Senator Al Franken, Democrat of Minnesota, positioned himself as a staunch defender of women’s rights. “Sexual harassment and violence are unacceptable,’’ he wrote on Twitter last month. “We must all do our part to listen, stand with and support survivors.’’ Now it is Mr. Franken who stands accused, and his uncompromising stance in support of “survivors” of harassment has left him few options but to apologize and try to weather the storm. On Monday, a second woman said the senator touched her inappropriately, telling CNN that he grabbed her rear end

American jurisprudence is well-known for its basic premise of “innocent until proven guilty.” In a court of law, a criminal defendant must be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to be convicted of a crime. That defendant walks into the court presumed innocent until that presumption is rebutted by evidence that a judge or jury finds convincing beyond a reasonable doubt. A political campaign may not be a courtroom, but nonetheless Americans have an innate sense of fairness and due process. Americans believe that due process is a precept applicable in many walks of life, including the workplace, which is why
