The Boy Scouts of America announced Wednesday that girls will soon be allowed to become Cub Scouts and to earn the coveted rank of Eagle Scout, the organization’s highest honor. "We believe it is critical to evolve how our programs meet the needs of families interested in positive and lifelong experiences for their children," said Michael Surbaugh, chief executive of the Boy Scouts. The scouting board of directors voted unanimously to make the historic change in an organization that has been primarily for boys since its founding more than 100 years ago. Starting next year, young girls can join Cub Scout units, known as dens.
Comments: This could be good for the transsexuals they must allow, as well. Will they wear kilts to be inclusive? Be prepared...to welcome them into your lair. s/o.
This decision is really going to confuse all of the pervert scoutmasters out there as to which organization to join. Or perhaps it just doubled their options. I would say that another American tradition just went down the drain but both Boy and Girl Scouts have been infiltrated by liberals and LGBT leadership for a long time. Not for my kids.
This is ridiculous. But, it is the first step in more change to the Boy Scouts where they must change their training, their philosophy and their focus to placate the females that are let in. What´s the matter with the girl scouts?
The NFL, MLB, and NBA should admit women players too under "disparate impact", i.e. too many of one gender. And allow a certain quota of wheelchair players too. Should make for interesting play calling and strategies.
Good way to continue the drive to eliminate the idea of men, maleness, masculinity. And it´s not just to let kids be kids. It´s to make little boys into androgynous creatures and little girls into mini feminists.
I was a scout in the early 70´s and it was being ruined by then. It was essentially "city scouts". They had all sorts of merit badges for things that could be done without ever seeing a tree or a stream, and the woods skills were being de-emphasized. They have outlived their usefulness.
That´s the beginning of the end of a once great organization that helped me become who I am.
All things masculine are under attack. Turning boys into men must not be tolerated. What better way to conquer a powerful nation than to rot out the roots of power from within. It really doesn´t matter if it´s a grand plan from an outside entity or not, the effect is the same.
And while we are at it, in case you missed it, there has been a war on women going on too, some women. Women who would prefer to be stay at home moms have been looked down on for decades. It´s the entire family unit that is under siege to be destroyed and replaced by big government.
This is intended to finally destroy the Boy Scouts, which has always been a force for teaching boys to be strong, good, patriotic, capable MEN - everything that the left despises and wants to stomp out of society so that they can have a bunch of wimps and drones to lord over.
Leftists, libs, and "progressives" will never be satisfied until every single institution in our country except the federal goobermint is destroyed. Examples: the Boy Scouts, the Catholic church, Christianity.......
Be Prepared! That´s the boy scout marching song, Be prepared, as through life you march along, ... If you´re looking for adventure of a new and different kind, and you come across a girl scout who is similarly inclined, Don´t be nervous, don´t be frightened, don´t be scared! Be prepared.
This should help complete the process of feminizing the American male. Starting at an early age. Like the Ritalin use on little boys in the schools. And I don´t doubt that this would meet with the full approval of Rex Tillerson who used to be in charge of the Boy Scouts when they decided to allow gay scout masters into the fold to ´lead´. And whatever else they deem fit do.
DECEMBER 14, 2016 WASHINGTON The Boy Scouts of America is not a progressive group, and implementing change is tough.
The massive youth organization, based in Irving, Texas, is a highly decentralized mass of thousands of nonprofits – 70 percent of which are controlled by religious institutions.
And from 2010 to 2012. Rex Tillerson – Donald Trump’s pick for secretary of state and the CEO of ExxonMobil – headed the Boy Scouts as a national push began to let openly gay boys join the group.
Tillerson wasn’t president of the organization in 2013, when the group finally allowed gays to participate, but he was “intimately involved” in the push, according to Zach Wahls, an Eagle Scout who co-founded Scouts for Equality, a national campaign to end discrimination in the Boy Scouts.
Good-bye Boy Scouts? No, good-bye Girl Scouts. Pretty smart move on the part of the BS. Wondering if their numbers are dwindling and letting girls in is intended to help boost them. It probably will, for awhile.
On all of our Boy Scout camp outs in the late 1960s--all of us were between 11 and 16--when we retired to our tents and waited for the Sandman to check us in, you shouldn´t need to guess what the main subject was in each tent as we drifted off. Girls. Girls. Girls. If there had been any flesh and blood teen-aged girls about, approaches would probably have been made, and a few accepted after the Scoutmaster drifted into deep slumber for the night.
I don´t think this is such a good idea. Raging hormones are involved. It might kill the Girl Scouts, and there´s nothing wrong with having some such organizations for teenagers (and just below that age) segregated by sex. The sexes are different, and are fundamentally not interchangeable. Vive la différence!

Washington - US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson promised India a new century of “strategic partnership” on Wednesday, accusing its Asian rival China of undermining international order. (Snip) But his harshest words were for China, the Asian economic behemoth and the nearest rival to India’s huge population and the United States’ still world-leading economy. “China, while rising alongside India, has done so less responsibly, at times undermining the international, rules-based order,” Tillerson chided. “China’s provocative actions in the South China Sea directly challenge the international law and norms that the United States and India
Wednesday’s statement by the Iranian military’s chief of staff, Maj.-Gen. Mohammad Bagheri, that it is “not acceptable for the Zionist regime to violate Syria any time it wants” indicates that Israel and Iran may be heading toward a collision over Tehran’s expanding influence in Syria. The immediate background to the statement, made during a visit to Damascus to strengthen Iranian-Syrian military cooperation, was the Israeli air strike in Syria on Monday that destroyed a Syrian anti-aircraft battery in response to its firing of a missile at an Israeli plane on a reconnaissance mission in Lebanon. However, according to a leading
Islamic State and other terrorist groups are planning to target aircraft as they aim to carry out another major attack on the scale of 9/11, a top US security official said. Elaine Duke, acting US Homeland Security Secretary, said the groups were using smaller attacks to raise money and “keep their members engaged”. “The threat is still severe,” she said in London after meeting Home Secretary Amber Rudd. “The terrorist organisations, be it Isis or al-Qaeda or others, want to have the big explosion like they did on 9/11. They want to take down aircraft, the intelligence is clear on that. Britain and Europe have seen a string of crude attacks,
The tables have turned and what was once the media’s favorite message — President Donald Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election — has now grown silent. Apparently, it’s Bill and Hillary Clinton who’ve been doing the behind-scenes and suspicious dealings with Russia all along. Oh, and perhaps others in the Barack Obama administration, too. You think special counsel Robert Mueller might switch the target of his investigation any time soon? Seems a bit time-wasting — not to mention taxpayer dollar-wasting — to keep on the Trump trail, desperately searching for signs of a collusion that just didn’t happen. Futile is a word
As we’ve all been understandably focused on Hollywood’s Weinstein dumpster fire, a number of stories have emerged exposing the left’s continuing culture war, despite its meltdown in the film industry. The Harvey Weinstein saga is but one symptom of a dangerous and destructive, yet smug and sanctimonious, liberal establishment. While they butcher American culture, civil society and history, how better to keep us normals from interfering than by blaming their victims for society’s ills? Cases in point from the last week, reminding us there are many fronts in our fight to save this nation from the bullies of the
The Denver District Attorney’s Office will not file criminal charges in connection with an East High School cheerleading coach who could be seen on video forcing students to do painful splits, which resulted in injury. In the footage, which went viral in August, 13-year-old Ally Wakefield can be heard saying, "No, no, no, no, no! I can´t!" and "Please stop. Please stop. Please stop," as former Coach Ozell Williams holds her down. School administrators fired the coach that month after parents complained, and after it emerged he had been fired from another Colorado town for the same conduct.
A Miami-area congressional candidate says she was abducted by aliens when she was 7 years old – and 10 years later, it happened again. Real aliens – as in saucer-flying extraterrestrials – supposedly took her into their spacecraft and talked to her “about a series of things that would happen,” she recounted in two TV interviews posted on YouTube. “And they have all happened, point to point,” Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, 59, one of several candidates vying to succeed outgoing Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., said in one of the Spanish-language TV interviews, which aired on AmericaTeVe in 2009. It's unclear when the other clip aired.
Newark, NJ - The judge at Sen. Bob Menendez´s corruption trial refused to throw out any of the charges against the New Jersey Democrat on Monday in light of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling narrowing the definition of bribery. The decision by U.S. District Judge Williams Walls was a major defeat for Menendez and a huge victory for prosecutors, who warned that dismissing the charges would torpedo nearly all other bribery cases and open the door wide to graft. Walls rejected defense lawyers´ arguments that the allegations against Menendez didn´t meet the new, narrower definition of bribery under a 2016 Supreme Court ruling
"At the time, I had no intention of causing search and recovery operations," Bergdahl said, but he added he now understand that his decision prompted efforts to find him. Bergdahl told the judge he left his post because he had issues with his command and was trying to travel to another base to notify them -- a claim that has been disputed in the past by a former platoon mate. He added he got lost after 20 minutes and was captured hours later. The misbehavior charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison, while the desertion charge is punishable by up to five years behind bars. Bergdahl also claimed Monday he escaped around 12 to 15
(Video) - Two Marine veterans surprised an 84-year-old widow with new American and Marine flags after hers were stolen from her front yard. "I think I went into shock," Naomi Litton said. "My goodness the flags are gone. ... I was devastated and I think I shed a few tears. Of course I was thinking about my husband." Litton was married to her husband Edward Litton, a Korean War Marine veteran, for 62 years. Former Marines Scott Cole and Arthur Kennedy rang the Barberton, Ohio, resident´s doorbell to present and install the new flags, which she says she looks at every day. "It doesn't matter what color, creed, age,
President Trump and Hillary Clinton are still going at it, and if Trump has his way, they´ll square off again in 2020. President Trump tweeted Monday that he hopes “Crooked” Hillary Clinton runs for president again, even as the former secretary of state was telling an Australian media outlet that former FBI Director James Comey gave her the "shiv." “I was recently asked if Crooked Hillary Clinton is going to run in 2020? My answer was, “I hope so!” Trump tweeted. (Donald J. Trump Tweet) A Clinton spokesman did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment in response to the president’s tweet.
A homegrown Islamic terrorist was convicted Monday of detonating do-it-yourself bombs in Manhattan and New Jersey last year — setting him up for a mandatory sentence of life in the slammer. A Manhattan federal jury found Ahmad Khan Rahimi, 29, guilty following a two-week trial over the twin blasts in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and in Seaside Park, N.J,. on Sept. 17, 2016. “Rahimi’s crimes of hate have been met with swift and resolute justice,” acting Manhattan US Attorney Joon Kim said. “Today’s verdict is a victory for New York City, a victory for America in its fight against terror, and a victory for all who believe
Jane Fonda made it clear she is not proud of America. During a recent interview with the BBC, Fonda was asked, "Are you proud of America today?" The actress was very quick to reply with a hard "no." "But, I’m proud of the resistance," she elaborated. "I’m proud of the people who are turning out in unprecedented numbers and continue over and over and over again to protest what Trump is doing. I’m very proud of them, that core." During the same interview, the 79-year-old was asked if she had a "sense of regret" for her visit to North Vietnam in 1972. The
Sure, it´s been more than 340 days since Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, but there´s still one very narrow, highly unlikely and entirely unprecedented way that Clinton could become president. And it has some Democratic die-hards dreaming again. Harvard University professor Lawrence Lessig offered a Clinton path to the presidency on Medium, putting forward a series of "if/then" scenarios that lead to House Speaker Paul Ryan handing the White House keys to Clinton. Here´s how constitutional law expert Lessig lays it out: If number 1: If Trump is definitively found to have colluded directly with Russia, he would be forced to resign or
Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough said President Donald Trump was the “antithesis” of the teachings of Jesus Christ. Scarborough said, “You look in Matthew, and go through the Beatitudes. Every single Beatitude. You go through Jesus’s teaching. What he says he wants people to be. Donald Trump is the antithesis of just about every single thing that Jesus Christ said on the Sermon on the Mount. Go read it.” He added, “None of us are perfect, but he goes out of his way it seems to thumb his nose at all conventions. Including the basics of
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says players should stand for the national anthem, speaking out amid the furor over some players´ protests before games. "We believe everyone should stand for the national anthem. That´s an important part of our policy," Goodell said in a press conference Wednesday in New York. But Goodell said he would not commit to making a rule stating players must stand for the anthem. "Our players will state to you publicly they are not doing this in any way to be disrespectful to the flag," Goodell said. He said the league is "not looking to get into politics, but what
Sen. John McCain warned against the US turning toward ´half-baked, spurious nationalism´ and jabbed at unnamed pushers of isolationist politics while at an event honoring the war hero´s contributions. (Snip) ´To abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems, is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history,´ he said. He added: ´We live in a land made of
As National Football League owners and players’ union representatives meet in New York today and tomorrow to discuss the players’ recent demonstrations — the kneeling, linking arms or raising fists during the national anthem — they should know how the law views these protests. This will not only tell them what the league lawfully can do; it also will reveal something about American values. There has been some confusion about the law and the anthem protests. Because the First Amendment generally treats government and corporate power differently, allowing a business to impose on its workers what the government
Clinton Scandals: For well over a year now, the progressive left in the Democratic Party have tried hard to sell the idea that, a) Russia meddled in our election, and, b) that it was to the detriment of Hillary Clinton. After nearly a year and a half of investigating, neither appears true. What is true, and now documented, is that Hillary Clinton and her family foundation both benefited handsomely from Russian corruption. Citing federal officials and government documents, The Hill details the Russians´ nuclear-industry corruption here in the U.S., citing extensive evidence that "Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery,
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Tuesday issued a warning shot after Republican Sen. John McCain questioned "half-baked, spurious nationalism" in America´s foreign policy, saying "people have to be careful because at some point I fight back." McCain, a former Navy pilot who spent 5½ years in a Vietnam prisoner of war camp and is battling brain cancer, offered a simple response to Trump: "I have faced tougher adversaries." Trump said in a radio interview with WMAL in Washington, "I´m being very, very nice but at some point I fight back and it won´t be pretty." He bemoaned McCain´s decisive
Someone within the Obama administration’s intelligence apparatus made requests to unmask the identity of Americans named in intelligence reports on behalf of Samantha Power, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. That’s what Power told the House Intelligence Committee last week during a closed-door interview. South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy revealed in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday that Power was “emphatic” on the point that someone else in the Obama administration made the unmasking requests that have been attributed to her. Fox News recently reported that Power made approximately 260 unmasking requests — a rate of one per business day
Sen. John McCain exploded on Fox News’ Peter Doocy on Wednesday for asking him if he would oppose everything that President Trump asks him to do. Doocy asked Sen. McCain if his relationship with the president is “so frayed” that McCain would “not support anything that he comes to you and asks for?” McCain snapped, “Why would you say something that stupid? Why would you ask something that dumb?” “My job as a United States senator — you mean I am somehow going to behave in a way that I’m going to block everything because of some personal disagreement?” McCain said incredulously.
Meghan McCain gave an interview on Tuesday where she responded to President Trump‘s warning towards her father after his speech against “spurious nationalism.” In a Good Morning America interview with George Stephanopoulos, McCain noted that Trump and her father clearly have different ideas about the best direction of the country. She went on to declare that she’s “exhausted” with the GOP’s infighting and the attacks against her dad after all the challenges he has already faced. “I don’t know if you guys have heard but my father is fighting glioblastoma right now and there’s nothing that could possibly happen or
The much-publicized Tuesday meeting between NFL officials, team owners, NFLPA officials and several players lasted about three hours. While there was undoubtedly a lot discussed in that time, it sounds as though there has not been a resolution on a rule change to require that players stand for the national anthem before games. A statement released jointly by the NFL and NFLPA called it a “productive meeting,” and that there will be another session in the future: Today owners and players had a productive meeting focused on how we can work together to promote positive social change and address inequality
