Steve Scalise throws out first pitch
at Nationals playoff game

New York Post, by Joe Tacopino

Original Article

Congressman Steve Scalise, who was badly wounded by a deranged gunman in June, threw out the first pitch at the Nationals-Cubs playoff game on Friday. Scalise, who stood on the field with only the assistance of a walker, is recovering after being shot while practicing for the annual congressional baseball game with other lawmakers. One of the Capital Hill police officers who was wounded in the shooting caught Scalise’s pitch at Game 1 of the National League Division Series. Scalise was in grave condition in the days after shooter James Hodgkinson, 66, wounded him and four others. Hodgkinson was shot dead.

Very happy for him. And it´s a strike! And it´s his birthday!

The article describes the shooter as deranged instead of Leftist Republican hating and makes no mention that the practice was for the Republican Congressional team. Remember they express their bias and shape the story as much with what they don´t tell you as with what they tell you.

Dropping turkeys from planes

To some it´s an Ozark Mountain Mardi Gras that includes live turkeys being dropped from a low-flying plane to an eager crowd below. To others, it´s just animal abuse. The 72nd Yellville Turkey Trot opened Friday with questions over whether the turkey drop portion would continue. The Chamber of Commerce for the small northern Arkansas city has distanced itself from the tradition it once endorsed and is hoping a "phantom pilot" won´t fly over this weekend. But that hasn´t stopped thousands of people from emailing the chamber about doing more to protect the birds. "Why don´t you jump yourselves with no parachute.

Opposition is mounting to a proposal to put a poultry slaughterhouse on the site of a former Dairy Queen on Walden Avenue in a residential Buffalo neighborhood. Masaab Darwish wants to open a street-front restaurant and a slaughterhouse, mainly for fresh chicken and turkeys, at 822 Walden Ave., near Academy Road. Darwish, of Cheektowaga, stated in his application to the city that he has spoken to neighbors and gained support for the venture. But neighbors interviewed Thursday expressed

The white, rock-like substance found in Daniel Rushing’s car was not meth — it was actually tiny flakes of hardened glaze from a Krispy Kreme doughnut. But because a 2015 roadside test conducted by Orlando police came back positive for an illegal substance, Rushing was arrested on a drug possession charge with a firearm and spent 10 hours in jail before posting bond, according to the Orlando Sentinel. It wasn’t long before Rushing sued the city for the false results. However this week, the parties officially settled and Rushing received a $37,500 from the City of Orlando. Two years ago,

Geraldo Rivera said his trip to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria confirmed how badly biased the press is against President Trump. "Having seen how he was treated in Puerto Rico and then seeing the press about how he was treated in Puerto Rico it was almost an absolute 100 percent disconnect," the Fox News contributor told "Fox & Friends" on Saturday. Rivera visited Puerto Rico and interviewed the president and first lady as they surveyed storm relief efforts in the devastated country. He remembered crowds who were "ebullient" about the president´s visit. The federal government´s response to Hurricane Maria has been far better than

So far, 22 American diplomats and their family members have been harmed in unexplained attacks in Cuba — the country Barack Obama assured was our new bestie, maybe even more so than Iran. Obama needs to apologize. His personal crusade to restore relations with the communist country was misplaced at best, a national security threat at worst. Americans are suffering for his progressive hogwash. A new recording has surfaced that seems to link high-pitched, cricket-like sounds from Havana to the sickening of U.S. Embassy workers. Not all of these workers actually reported hearing the sound. But investigators are following a

The Canadian government is scrambling this week to remove and replace a plaque at its new National Holocaust Monument that made no mention of anti-Semitism or Jews. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dedicated the stark, concrete memorial in Ottawa last Wednesday after a decade-long effort driven by the realization that Canada was the only Allied power that didn´t have a national memorial to the Holocaust, reports Susan Hogan of the Washington Post. Language on a plaque said the memorial "commemorates the millions of men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust," and honors the survivors who emigrated to Canada following it and have

It was a devastating loss for the Washington establishment: Former state Supreme Court justice Roy Moore decisively defeated Sen. Luther Strange in Alabama´s Republican Senate primary runoff. The outcome was never in doubt, and the message Tuesday was even clearer: We want Washington to deliver on President Trump´s platform. Months after voting for Trump’s promising agenda, the American people are sick and tired of the do-nothing Congress, which has consistently failed to deliver results for people in need of common-sense conservative reforms and long overdue economic growth. This comes as no surprise to those of us involved in the Trump movement from

Hillary Clinton slammed what she called "endemic" sexism and misogyny in America during an interview with Fareed Zakaria, which aired Sunday. Clinton, who was interviewed by Zakaria on his show, "GPS," said sexism was so inherent that she purposely hadn´t highlighted her career history of fighting for women´s rights when she ran for president in 2016. However, she admitted that with the benefit of hindsight, she "could have tried harder" to do so. "I´m a middle-class girl from the middle of the country, and so I always struggled with like, OK, so what´s my story. And it suddenly dawned on me that

Hillary Clinton on Sunday defended NFL players who knelt during the national anthem, saying kneeling is a “reverent” position that is not against “our anthem or our flag.” The former Democratic presidential candidate, who was at the Southbank Centre´s London Literature Festival, urged Democrats to use the issue against President Trump. Clinton was embarking on a foreign trip to promote her book “What Happened.” She said people should resist “what are very clear dog-whistles” to the Trump base, pointing to the example of kneeling NFL players. “That´s what black athletes kneeling was all about,” she said in response to a question about ways to

The Texans, Atlanta, and Baltimore are also very relevant teams with relatively loyal fan bases. Yet, thousands upon thousands of fans no-showed or didn’t buy tickets for those games. Colin Kaepernick has filed a grievance under the collective bargaining agreement for collusion against NFL team owners, reports Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report. Kaepernick has hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos and is preparing to release a statement about his grievance soon, added Freeman. The free-agent quarterback has remained unemployed since his release by the San Francisco 49ers in March and has garnered little interest from teams around the league. This has caused some to suggest he´s being blackballed for his national anthem protests during the 2016 season. Kaepernick appeared in 12 games for 49ers in 2016, throwing for 2,241 yards with
