The Canadian government is scrambling this week to remove and replace a plaque at its new National Holocaust Monument that made no mention of anti-Semitism or Jews. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dedicated the stark, concrete memorial in Ottawa last Wednesday after a decade-long effort driven by the realization that Canada was the only Allied power that didn´t have a national memorial to the Holocaust, reports Susan Hogan of the Washington Post. Language on a plaque said the memorial "commemorates the millions of men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust," and honors the survivors who emigrated to Canada following it and have
Comments: Hopefully this was just a stupid oversight and not an attempt at being Politically Correct.
How about if Canada just replaces its prime minister---- the male bimbo and former substitute drama teacher that Canadians elected PM? He inherited both the looks and brains---unfortunately for the latter--- of his mother.
Consequences result when a mental midget is elected as a prime minister. We have seen a lot of this world wide the past years. At least the U.S. has made a step in the right direction by election a brilliant adult for president. MAGA
A Canadian man says he’s broke after the United Parcel Service lost track of his inheritance. The intended $846,000 delivery was a bank draft from TD Canada Trust, which still hasn’t refunded the lost fortune 10 months later. Instead, UPS offered an apology and $32 to pay for the mailing costs, according to a CBC News report. (Snip) The postal service refunded Taylor the $32 it cost her to mail the lost parcel and sent an apology letter, but she says that doesn’t really solve her problem. The bank is refusing to refund the money unless Taylor signed an agreement to pay

WASHINGTON, Dec. 7, 2017 — The Defense Department is starting the first agencywide financial audit in its history, Pentagon officials announced today. Defense Department Comptroller David L. Norquist and chief Pentagon spokesperson Dana W. White spoke during the Pentagon news conference, in which they also addressed the possibility of a government shutdown when the continuing resolution that has been keeping the government running expires tomorrow. (snip) The audit is massive. It will examine every aspect of the department from personnel to real property to weapons to supplies to bases. Some 2,400 auditors will fan out across the department to conduct it,
In case anyone still doubts it, the deep state is real. (Snip) Trump is the enemy of the plans they have made at places like Davos and other global gatherings where the left-liberal clique that has run the world since the 1960s gathers to plot out the future course of events. Trump threatens their interests. It´s a matter of simple economics. As so he must be removed, one way or another. Mueller is their tool for doing so, whether the president actually broke the law or not.
London — A prominent Anglican cleric and gay rights campaigner known for contentious gestures has urged believers to pray for Prince George — age 4, and third in line to the throne — to find the love “of a fine young gentleman” when he grows up so as to advance the cause of same-sex marriage in church. Coming just days after Prince Harry — George’s uncle, and fifth in line — announced his engagement to Meghan Markle, a divorced American actress, the suggestion by the Very Rev. Kelvin Holdsworth seemed to illuminate once more the role of royal romance in Britain’s
LAKE SUPERIOR - Seeing a problem on the road and making a quick U-turn is one thing. Being alerted to a bridge ahead of you that won´t raise means a wide turn and a whole lot of skill if you´re the captain and crew of a 1,000-foot Great Lakes freighter. The crew of the Paul R. Tregurtha had to pull a 360-degree maneuver on Friday morning when they learned the aerial lift bridge in Duluth, Minn., that they´d planned to go under had malfunctioned and was not raising properly. To avoid a potential problem, the freighter did a wide turn
On October 10, an earthquake struck North Korea´s underground nuclear program, killing 200 workers. Today, another earthquake struck. Evidence shows that this may be the result of the Rods from God program -- a tungsten rod fired to Earth from space.´Tis an Air Force weapon. The technology goes back half a century to Vietnam. Steel rods were fired from airplanes into the jungle below. From Business Insider: The idea is like shooting bullets at a target, except instead of losing velocity as it travels, the projectile is gaining velocity and energy that will be expended on impact. They were shotgunning a large swath of
You’ve built your shiny new high-efficiency building with all the latest energy-saving features: smart thermostats, motion sensor-activated lights, floors designed to absorb heat during the day and release it at night. But when you look at your building’s actual energy use, the savings are far less than anticipated. Why? Well, maybe the building’s occupants are putting popsicles on the thermostats so they can force the heat to go higher. Or maybe they’re using a toy to continuously trigger the motion sensor lights, to keep them from turning off when they leave the room. Bet you didn’t think of that. Researchers at Washington State University
Sudbury, Mass. — Police in a Massachusetts town are showing residents how not to transport their holiday trees. Sudbury police posted a picture Friday of a vehicle with a large tree on top of it. Almost the entire car appears to be hidden. Police say an officer stopped the vehicle on Route 20 in the town, located about 25 miles west of Boston. Police on Facebook reminded people to transport holiday trees “responsibly.” It’s unclear if the driver was cited. The department did not immediately respond to a request for additional details on Monday.
Mar del Plata: Hopes that 44 crew members of a missing Argentine navy submarine may be alive rose when the defense ministry said the vessel likely tried to communicate via satellite on Saturday as a search mission was underway in the stormy South Atlantic. (snip) The dramatic search has captivated the nation of 44 million people, which recently mourned the loss of five citizens who were killed when a truck driver plowed through a bicycle path in New York City.
During my testimony yesterday at a Congressional Committee hearing about abortion, I testified how abortion does not address the needs of the most vulnerable in our country and should NOT be considered a government program such as Medicaid or food stamps (SNAP). What you’ll see blow is what is now a viral video of an attack on me from Democratic Representative Steve Cohen because he was so offended by my message. You will see his attack in the video below where he told me I was ignorant. Also, after the hearing, Cohen approached me, put his finger in my face, and Posted with permission of Staff.
"Postnatal confinement" - where new mothers do not leave the house, have visitors or shower for a month after giving birth - is said to be widespread among the UK´s Chinese community. Experts warn that few in the medical profession know this occurs. "Being confined in your flat is important," says Ching Ching Turner, from her home in London that she has not left since giving birth 28 days earlier. (Snip) Confinement is common across Asia and in China there are special hospitals where mothers stay confined for a month, sometimes only seeing their babies once a day. It is carried out
There’s bad news and there’s worse news for President Donald Trump in new polls released this week. First comes the latest round of polling showing that Trump is the most unpopular president on record. Just 32% of respondents to a new Associated Press-NORC poll said they approved of the job Trump is doing as president, while an overwhelming 67% they disapproved. Among those who don’t think the president is doing a good job, more than half say they “strongly disapprove” of his work. The poll — conducted earlier this month — also suggests that nearly 70% of Americans believe the United States is “heading
There is strong circumstantial evidence that an insidious plot unprecedented in American history was hatched within the FBI and the Obama Justice Department to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. (Snip) Such a plot would show that partisans within the FBI and the Justice Department, driven by personal animus and a sense of political righteousness, surreptitiously conspired to subvert electoral democracy itself in our country. As of now, we have no proof beyond a reasonable doubt of such a plot. But we have very strong circumstantial evidence.
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) suggested Thursday that Americans need to have more babies or risk a collapse of popular entitlements like Medicare and Social Security. “This is going to be the new economic challenge for America: people. Baby boomers are retiring — I did my part, but we need to have higher birth rates in this country,” Ryan, a father of three, told reporters as he riffed on how Republicans will tackle entitlement and welfare reform in 2018. “Baby boomers are retiring and we have fewer people following them in the workforce.
I don’t know whether this is comedy or a sign that in rural America, Democrats really don’t have anyone to run in statewide races. There were rumors that Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) could become the next director of the CIA, current CIA Director Mike Pompeo would become secretary of state, and current Secretary of State Rex Tillerson would be asked to take a hike. Talk about some unwelcome Thanksgiving news if you’re Tillerson. The Trump White House has rejected the notion that this plan is in the works. Tillerson himself said he’s never considered leaving his current post.
Female actresses attending this year’s Golden Globes ceremony are reportedly planning to wear only black in protest of the widening sexual abuse scandal that has engulfed Hollywood this year.According to E! News, the plan originally started with just a small group of women but gradually grew as other women wished to express solidarity. “So all of the female actresses and attendees, or most of them at least, are standing in solidarity together in a form of protest,” said ceremony host Jackie Oshry on The Morning Breath radio show. “They’re all going to be wearing black, obviously to protest the injustices
Santa Claus, Christmas trees and the colors red and green are examples of inappropriate “religious iconography” during the holiday season, according to a paper distributed during a “Respecting Religious Diversity” event at the University of Minnesota."Jewish Hanukkah" is targeted, too, with menorahs and the colors blue and white also described as being "not appropriate." “Consider neutral-themed parties such as a ‘winter celebration,’” the handout read. “Decorations, music, and food should be general and not specific to any one religion.” It was part of a Dean’s Dialogues “Religious Diversity and Holidays” event within the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource
CNN anchors Anderson Cooper and Christian Amanpour discuss reports that leaders of Syria, Myanmar Russia, and other authoritarian states have all used the term "fake news" to dismiss credible reports they disagree with. Ryan Crocker, who has served as ambassador to several middle eastern countries joins the conversation. Amanpour said that Trump´s use of the term has given dictators around the world license to paralyze the press and if it goes on, it will put democracy and the entire world order at risk. "This is really serious, and it just has to stop. Because it is undermining not just our safety, but
Democrats hate her (#Tolerance)... Feminists despise her (#GlassCeiling)... Progressives want her silenced (#Diversity)... And the liberal media dreads her. Who is she? She’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders. In case you’ve been hiding under a freshly broken shard of glass from one of the ceilings being broken all over Washington D.C. lately - keep reading, it gets better. She’s the 3rd female to ever hold the office of the White House Press Secretary. - Dee Dee Myers was the first under Clinton (1993-1994) - Dana Perino was the 2nd who served under Bush in 2007 And it’s no surprise that Trump put her there because she’s perfect for the job.
For much of the year, Kirsten Gillibrand’s critics — sensing a presidential aspirant in their midst — had assumed that the New York senator could not hear enough about herself. For one day at least, it appeared she had. It had been about 10 hours since President Trump accused her of “begging” for campaign contributions that she “would do anything” to secure, and the Ms. Gillibrand, driving with her 14-year-old son on Tuesday evening, flipped on the radio looking for an update on the Senate race in Alabama. The top story, instead, was her. The radio went off again. What, exactly,
Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin has requested UN Peacekeeping Forces to the City of Chicago to cut down on violence in the Windy City. Boykin says peacekeeping forces are needed to fight the “quiet genocide” in the streets of Chicago. The joys of liberalism: 603 people have been shot and killed in Chicago so far this year. 3,454 people have been shot. There have been 652 homicides in Chicago so far this year. CBS Chicago reported: Some politicians in the past have recommended deploying the National Guard to help Chicago quell gun violence, but Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin went
Democrats, who have a monopoly of power in California politics, are proposing to spend $1 billion a year to provide health care to illegal immigrants living in the state. Medi-Cal, which is the state’s Medicaid program, would eliminate legal residency requirements. The proposal was offered as part of a $4.3 billion proposal from San Francisco Democrat Assemblyman Phil Ting, the head of the Assembly budget committee. According to NBC Bay Area, 7% of people residing in California lack health coverage, many of them illegal immigrants. California has already eliminated legal residency requirements for Medicaid coverage for
Spurred by the multitude of sexual abuse scandals, top Hollywood executives have tapped Anita Hill to chair the newly formed Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace. The commission made the announcement Friday following a meeting convened by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, Nike Foundation founder and co-chair Maria Eitel, Nina Shaw, and venture captialist Freada Kapor Klein. “The Commission will not seek just one solution, but a comprehensive strategy to address the complex and inter-related causes of the problems of parity and power,” said Kennedy.
