Beijing - China hit back on Thursday at recent criticism from the United States about its trade practices, saying some countries’ unilateralism is an unprecedented challenge to global trade. Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng also said that foreign and domestic firms are treated equally in China and that foreign firms should not have concerns about investing in China. The comments come amid stepped up pressure on Beijing from Washington over trade and pledges by China to further open its markets to foreign investors. “Some countries’ unilateral actions and calls for unilateralism are an unprecedented challenge to the

Comments:
Sounds like President Trump has gotten China´s attention about their unfair trading practices. They sound like a wounded panda bear over the new "rules" that we are forcing them hopefully to accept.

China holds no economic cards. Their economy cannot exist except under the Bretton Woods System set up by and maintained by the USA. Without unfettered access to raw materials and markets, they die.

Now, with the USA getting out of the Global Management Business, countries like China will have to insure their own access to Oil and Raw Materials. If the Iranians block the Straits of Hormuz - is no longer going to reopen it. We don´t use Middle Eastern Oil. It will be someone else´s problem. That is why China is scrambling to build a Navy to protect it´s international trade routes.

Why gun control won’t end mass murder
Washington Times, by Tammy Bruce    Original Article

As the nation continues to reel from the nation’s worst mass shooting in modern history, politicians and other opportunists find the massacre too inviting not to exploit. The knee-jerk cravenness of liberals to scrape up their calls for gun-control while demonizing the National Rifle Association (NRA) immediately sucks all the air out of the room, eliminating any discussion or investigation of other foundational forces driving mass violence. At about 7:03 a.m. EDT, as the East Coast was waking up to the horrific news of the shooting in Las Vegas, Hillary Clinton was ready at the smartphone. With little information and even less decency,

Should Ryan and McConnell be dumped?

Should House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell be repealed and replaced? The argument for their ouster, repeated ad nauseam, is that Republicans now control both houses of Congress, so how come the leaders won’t deliver for their Republican president? But are these attacks reasonable? Why has Mr. Ryan, for instance, come in for such sustained assaults by many on the right when the chamber he controls has delivered on significant fronts for both President Trump and conservatives generally, including — but not limited to — defense, health care, financial regulation and immigration?

Wall Street scaled new record highs on Wednesday after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson denied reports that he considered resigning, allaying fears of fresh turmoil in the Trump administration. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq reversed early losses following Tillerson’s comments, while the Dow extended gains. His comments come days after Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price resigned following an uproar over his use of costly private charter planes for government business. Investors fretted that another departure could weigh on Trump’s efforts to push through his much-awaited tax reform, one of his key

Washington - In August 2016, just two months before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission discovered its corporate filing system had been hacked, the SEC’s internal watchdog, Carl Hoecker, received a plea for help from his new forensics investigative unit. (Snip) The forensics unit’s staff were told to use equipment due for disposal when they asked for supplies and ended up repurposing computer hard drives instead. Their hardware budget for the fiscal 2017 year at $100,000 was about half a million dollars short of what was needed, the memo said. “Even though the (Digital Forensics and Investigations Unit) has

Gun shops brace for run on ‘bump stocks’

Firearm dealers say they expect a run on “bump stocks,” a rapid-fire adaption for rifles that up until now were gathering dust on shelves, following talk of a ban because the devise was used in the Las Vegas massacre. Staudt’s Gun Shop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has had two bump stocks that have been sitting on the shelf for more than a year. “They are literally covered in dust. No one ever touched them. No one ever asked about them,” said a salesman at the shop. “But they’re probably not going to be there long now.” Bans of firearms or just talk of banning firearms have often sent Americans scrambling to get their hands on guns

Cairo - At least 34 people have been arrested in Egypt as part of an expanding crackdown on the gay and transgender community following a rock concert last month when audience members waved a rainbow flag. The crackdown has been fueled by social media, where images of the flag-waving were widely shared, and by dating apps and other websites, which the Egyptian police have used to entrap people suspected of being gay and transgender, activists and officials say. Atheists win right to pray —

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is cheering a recent federal court ruling that allows atheists the right to deliver invocations before local government meetings, same as if they were just another pastor or preacher or priest or true man or woman of God. Of course they’re cheering. Atheist rabble-rousers always cheer when they’re able to ram their ridiculous suits through court and win — when they’re able to mock God and those of faith in the process. The obvious question here is why would the FFRF want the right to pray in the first place, given that its members are, well, atheists? And the just-as-obvious answer is

Pontiac, MI - A suburban Detroit woman has been ordered to jail for seven days for failing to have her 9-year-old son vaccinated. An Oakland County judge told Rebecca Bredow on Wednesday that she violated an agreement to have the procedure done. Her ex-husband wanted their son vaccinated, but Bredow is the primary caregiver. Judge Karen McDonald says the boy has two parents and “Dad gets a say.” Bredow, a Ferndale resident, told the judge that she takes “full responsibility” for her actions. She says vaccinations go against her beliefs and she should have raised her objections sooner. In response, McDonald reminded

But it didn’t matter. Even though he burst onto the MTV scene at a relatively late age, he still managed to connect with a younger generation of rabid video fans who readily consumed the wacky, inventive and occasionally controversial videos that Petty and his band produced. I have never understood the conservative fetish for the Second Amendment. From a law-and-order standpoint, more guns means more murder. “States with higher rates of gun ownership had disproportionately large numbers of deaths from firearm-related homicides,” noted one exhaustive 2013 study in the American Journal of Public Health. From a personal-safety standpoint, more guns means less safety. The F.B.I. counted a total of 268 “justifiable homicides” by private citizens involving firearms in 2015; that is, felons killed in the course of committing a felony. Yet that same year, there were 489 “unintentional firearms deaths” in the United States, according to

Michelle Obama believes the 42 percent of women and 53 percent of white women who voted against Hillary Clinton only did so because someone—presumably our patriarchs—told us to. “Any woman who voted against Hillary Clinton voted against their [sic] own voice,” the former first lady declared, speaking at a conference in Boston. Believe it or not, the pomposity only got worse from there. “What does it mean for us as women that we look at those two candidates, as women, and many of us said, that guy, he’s better for me, his voice is more true to me,” Obama said.

Beyond the briefing, Trump also toured damaged areas and helped distribute supplies, flicking paper towels into a crowd with the motion of a jump shot in basketball. All of it, Cruz said, was disingenuous. “This was a PR, 17-minute meeting.
