Beijing - China hit back on Thursday at recent criticism from the United States about its trade practices, saying some countries’ unilateralism is an unprecedented challenge to global trade. Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng also said that foreign and domestic firms are treated equally in China and that foreign firms should not have concerns about investing in China. The comments come amid stepped up pressure on Beijing from Washington over trade and pledges by China to further open its markets to foreign investors. “Some countries’ unilateral actions and calls for unilateralism are an unprecedented challenge to the

Comments:
Sounds like President Trump has gotten China´s attention about their unfair trading practices. They sound like a wounded panda bear over the new "rules" that we are forcing them hopefully to accept.

China holds no economic cards. Their economy cannot exist except under the Bretton Woods System set up by and maintained by the USA. Without unfettered access to raw materials and markets, they die.

Now, with the USA getting out of the Global Management Business, countries like China will have to insure their own access to Oil and Raw Materials. If the Iranians block the Straits of Hormuz - is no longer going to reopen it. We don´t use Middle Eastern Oil. It will be someone else´s problem. That is why China is scrambling to build a Navy to protect it´s international trade routes.

Minnesota Lt. Gov. Tina Smith was appointed Wednesday to temporarily fill the Senate seat of Democratic Sen. Al Franken, who resigned amid allegations of sexual misconduct and pressure within his party to leave office. Smith, a Democrat, was appointed by Minnesota Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and will serve until a special election next year to complete Franken’s term ending in 2020. She is expected to run to finish the term. Dayton was under pressure from Washington Democrats to appoint a replacement who would run in 2018. The 59-year-old Smith is a former General Mills executive who in the 1990 started her own

President Donald Trump has spent the better part of his campaign and now, presidency, railing against the media, calling out its members for bias, condemning certain networks for outright targeted take-down attempts of his administration — and according to a new study from the Media Research Center, he kind of has a point. Specifically, the study showed that in September, October and November, almost 91 percent of remarks from reporters’ and other so-called non-partisan-types’ mouths during evening ABC, NBC and CBS broadcasts were anti-Trump in nature. Ninety-one percent. That’s pretty dang significant.

Rep. Mo Brooks announced Wednesday in an emotional House floor address that he has prostate cancer. Mr. Brooks, Alabama Republican, said that losing the Senate primary in October may have saved his life. He was running against eventual nominee Roy Moore, but fell short. He said that if he had won, he would not have been able to schedule his physical, which led to his diagnosis. “God does work in mysterious ways,” he said. Mr. Brooks said he will leave for surgery, which is scheduled for Friday.

A former congressional intern reportedly says she too was a victim of inappropriate sexual contact by now-retired Rep. John Conyers, saying Conyers even claimed during that encounter to have “inside information” on then-missing federal intern Chandra Levy. Courtney Morse, 36, described the incident from 16 years ago to The Washington Post. She said Conyers, D-Mich., mentioned the Levy case when Morse was a college intern for him and the congressman drove her home one night. Morse said Conyers wrapped his hand around hers while it was in her lap and said he was interested in a sexual relationship,

Kampala, Uganda - For years African leaders have toyed with the idea of free movement by citizens across the continent, even raising the possibility of a single African passport. Now some countries, most recently Kenya, are taking bold steps to encourage borderless travel that could spur trade and economic growth in a region in desperate need of both. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta announced during his inauguration last week that the East African commercial hub will now give visas on arrival to all Africans. That follows similar measures by nations including Benin and Rwanda. The African Union continental body has cheered

The left, including much of the media, are going nuts now, drooling at Michael Flynn’s guilty plea as if it’s the final nail in President Donald Trump’s coffin — the long-sought means to the impeachment end. It’s not. That’s ludicrous. And the more hours that tick since Flynn announced his guilty plea, the more ludicrous the left’s wild-eyed panting seems. Here are the facts: Flynn, Trump’s former national security adviser, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about communications he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak on Dec. 22 and 29. In December — after Trump had already won the White House.

Kyna Hamill, a theater history professor at Boston University, recently told the Boston Globe that the venerable Christmas song has a “secret” racist past that has been “systematically” hidden from Americans as they celebrate the Christmas season. “The history of the song has remained hidden behind its local and season affection,” Hamill told the paper. She continued saying the song’s “blackface and racist origins have been subtly and systematically removed from its history.” (Tweet/Video) Hamill

Conventional wisdom is that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is asleep at the wheel – from recusing himself unnecessarily from the Trump-Russia collusion investigation to doing nothing about the politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice. He also gave free rein to his deputy A.G., Rod Rosenstein, who is in turn allowing Special Counsel Robert Mueller unlimited time, money, and jurisdiction to investigate President Trump´s entire life. Last summer, Trump expressed disappointment in Sessions, calling him "beleaguered," wondering why Sessions wasn´t looking into Hillary Clinton´s emails and true election chicanery. Alabama is one of the most reliably Republican states in the country. The last time a Democrat was elected was in 1992, and no Democrat has won more than 40 percent of the vote in a Senate race there since 1996. The closest election in recent memory was in 2002, when Jeff Sessions won re-election by a razor-thin margin of 19 points. Sen. Richard Shelby has won his last three elections by 35 points, 30 points and 28 points, respectively. So it takes a special kind of stupid to pick a candidate who can lose to a Democrat in Alabama.

Scandal: For 18 months, the FBI has been fixated on determining whether President Trump worked with Russia to influence the 2016 election. But explosive text exchanges between top FBI agents suggest it should be looking in the mirror. The text messages sent between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, which became public on Wednesday, provide a rare and illuminating window into just how rabidly partisan putatively nonpartisan law enforcement officials can be. In the exchanges, they called Trump an "idiot," a "loathsome human," an "enormous do-che," and said "this man cannot be president." When not berating Trump, they were praising Hillary Clinton.
