Emmys Go Political in First Minute:
Colbert’s Opener Has Trump Treason,
‘Confederate’ Jokes — and Male Handmaids

The Wrap, by Ryan Gajewski

Original Article

The 2017 Emmys Awards ceremony wasted no time getting political during Sunday’s opening segment, as host Stephen Colbert and friends made political jokes within the very first minute — and Colbert quickly accused President Trump of treason. Before his opening song, host Stephen Colbert chatted with Anthony Anderson and Allison Janney, and she complained about the current state of the world. The “Mom” actress mentioned global warming and fighting leaders, and joked that HBO was bringing back “the Confederacy,” a reference to the flap over HBO’s planned new drama series “Confederate.” Moments later, Colbert sang about the virtues of television,

Too busy watching NFL for this garbage. The NFL´s disrespect of our country is less than the disrespect shown by Colbert.

I was loathe to even open the article. The "Emmys" devolved to an unwatchable love fest of brainless LIEberals, patting each other on the back, and trying to be more outlandish than the last, many years ago.

I´ve read that Stephen Colbert is supposed to have a high IQ, but he is so blinded by ideology, he wouldn´t know treason if it bit him in the but...however his constant refrain of Impeach Trump borders on sedition.

Maybe, if someone actually cares enough about him, they could send him the dictionary pages for "treason" and "sedition" along with the portion of the Constitution that delineates our Electoral College and how it works...but most of his audience is just as ignorant of how our government works as he is.

Otherwise, he will just be an ideological idiot spouting inanities for the rest of his worthless life.

Truly revolting, completely debasing whatever the awards once pretended to represent.

I suspect the leftists in charge have calculated that the rabid Trump haters, a sliver of the potential audience, are nevertheless a larger segment than they have been able to attract otherwise.

Colbert has been "successful" with this gambit on his own late night show. Rachel Maddow the same.

In report after report following Donald Trump’s election, career staffers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration kept saying the same thing: climate change is real, serious and man-made. That’s surprising because Trump has called global warming a hoax. His political appointees at the Commerce Department, which oversees NOAA, have complained to its staff, but stopped short of demanding changes or altering the findings. So the reports, blog posts and public updates kept flowing. The bureaucrats won.“Everything coming out of NOAA does not reflect this administration,” said David Schnare, a retired lawyer for an industry-backed think tank who served on

Three reasons determined my course of action. It appears the Obama Administration weaponized the Federal Bureau of Investigation just like they weaponized the Internal Revenue Service. The Obama administration used government agencies to wage a covert war on their political enemies. This is an all-out war. We have a growing mountain of evidence to suggest the FBI was attempting to overthrow a duly elected president. We have evidence to suggest the FBI was protecting Hillary Clinton so she might be elected president. There is no smoking gun just yet – but the evidence is staggering – it is simply staggering. Rep. The Democracy Dies in Darkness Café is located conveniently near the Capitol, the Hill and the FBI headquarters. It’s open all night and I stopped in for a late-night coffee with my friend, a fiction novelist who was depressed. “I spent a year writing about a coup attempt against an outsider who by strategic brilliance defeated the handpicked candidate of a cabal of establishment powerhouses. It involved the highest officials of the FBI and Department of Justice. They manipulated a FISA Court into letting them electronically surveil the candidate and all who worked with him, unmasked their names, leaked what
