The ´Dreamers´ Can
Stay but Never Vote

People who claim to be shocked that Donald Trump is prepared to make an amnesty deal for the"Dreamers" -- most of whom are Mexicans who entered the USA at around the age of six -- are being more than a tad disingenuous. The president has been hinting as much for over a year to anyone paying attention. In fact, it´s hard to conceive how he could have done otherwise, considering the (excuse the cliché) "optics" of shipping 800,000 young people back to a homeland they may never have seen. The question is what your definition of amnesty is. It´s a

Children of illegal immigrants must be deported with their parents in accordance with the law. If we don´t like this law, we can elect representatives to change the law. Until we do so, pontificating garbage opinions about so-called "dreamers" is just an emission of intellectual flatulence.

They all vote thanks to DMV (Dept of Mexican Voters) motor voter laws that lets them register Democrat when the apply for their DL. So what if they lie and check the box that says they are a US citizen. They do it all the time and I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted.

I would only agree to let them stay, never to become citizens and never vote, if congress rescinds the SC law of birthright citizenship.
Oh, and never bring extended family into the country.

Isn´t this the result of Obama´s flood of "unaccompanied"minors who poured across the border without parents?? So now those children´s families have come in and want the handouts. No amnesty, no chain immigration, nothing. They are illegal!!!

I have no problem with them voting under one circumstance: That they serve honorably in a branch of the US military for a minimum of 8 years. Then they automatically get citizenship and with it voting rights. They earned it.

Otherwise, they are "guests" in this country, and must obey the law -- which includes NOT voting!!!

They are thieves, they are illegal aliens, they need to go back to their own countries.

No compromise.

Illegal is illegal. Deport all of them, give their jobs back to Americans.

Simon should know better. If the Dreamers are allowed stay in the U.S. they will eventually obtain the franchise. The courts will see to it.

But that´s OK with me, as long as the bad actors among them are weeded out, jailed and/or deported. The legislation Congress has been asked to put together and pass will be somewhat complicated and subject to court challenge.

A lot of people will be dissatisfied with the final resolution of this thorny issue. You can shout "No Amnesty!" until you´re blue in the face, but there is a roiling stew of factors at work and others due to come into play.

I do believe this, though: with DT as president the final result will be the best obtainable.

The whole reason for allowing illegals into this country was so they can vote. If they can not vote (and vote democrat)...why let them in at all?

Why should they get to jump the line, when people all over the world have jumped thru the hoops, waited years and paid the expenses to become a citizen? The blame is on their parents, not the system. Check the laws of any other nation in the world and see what their laws are concerning illegal immigrants.

Democrats move in one direction, that of increasing the leaders´ political power. No matter what terms the R´s were to agree to, the moment the D´s regained power, anything costing the Democrat Party votes would be promptly swept away. Recall Reagan who foolishly trusted the D´s about the "last amnesty" with the D´s pledge to build the wall. Reagan gave way on the amnesty, and the Dems promptly cancelled funding for the wall. Smart people cannot trust Dems. Anyone who trusts Dems knows nothing. The Dems are not only dishonest, they are treacherous.

I still maintain that congress MUST change existing laws if the Dreamers are to stay, and President Trump is giving them six months to do that. I don´t think they have the nerve to do it. It would be political suicide to pass laws to open our borders; therefore, existing laws will be followed, in my opinion.

Let the dreamers stay and send the parents back. No voting rights, no welfare, no chain immigration, no amnesty. They must carry ID with them at all times and show it whenever asked for. Since they will become a ´special´ class of people, they must report to a yet to be established agency. Their children will not become citizens when born. They will just ´dream on.´
Now what I have layed out would discourage me from coming here, which is the point.

So get ready folks. Millions of ´dreamers´ are going to be allowed to vote. These millions of democrat voters will cancel out our votes guaranteed. This is the unintended consequence of taking pity on illegal aliens. Pretty soon there will be no pretense of having 2 partys. There will only be one. And I´m not referring to the uniparty.

This will ultimately be the cost of codifying DACA.

First of all, a LAW must be passed; no Executive only action. The dems MUST put their money where their mouths are.

I could see some type of process for people already here but until border security is beefed up, NO conclusion to the process. They MUST follow the process to citizenship; classes, etc. Maybe even some additional requirements and a wait time. If the wall isn´t done, NO citizenship. No citizenship, NO voting. Serious criminal illegals need not apply.

People illegally crossing the border now or later are NOT eligible.

Agree, amnesty recipients should only be granted a conditional/temporary immigration status valid indefinitely as long as the recipient obeys all US laws. That conditional/temporary status should allow them to live and work in the USA and to travel internationally. They should not be able to bring foreign relatives into the USA, or serve as an anchor relative for their family members to be granted amnesty. There should be no possible progression to permanent resident alien (green card) immigration status or US citizenship unless the recipient applies for and is granted a permanent resident immigration status under the regular immigration laws as all legal immigrants are required to do.

The vote hungry liberal Democrats will not like that, but that should be the extent of President Trump´s concession to the DACA illegal aliens. It is their illegal alien parents fault that they were brought into the USA unlawfully and that´s where the blame lies, not with the immigration laws or the President.

I strongly suspect a sizable percentage of "dreamers" have already voted. What´s just as bad is that among the real political movers and shakers within the GOP, none of them give a rat´s patootie what anyone on a largely conservative news site thinks. We are precisely the Americans that the global communists and their uniparty beards wish to silence and disenfranchise. We are essentially expressing mostly similar opinions to one another. The legislative and executive branch pols would come closer to listening to the BLM rioters in St. Louis, antifa, or the Mexican Mafia housed in our respective state prisons. They gladly suck up our money and our votes but are closer ideologically to the NYT and WaPo.

IF the so-called ´Dreamers´ (notice how the left gives their pets ´nice´ sounding names?
-Illegal Aliens become ´Dreamers´
-Homosexuals become ´Gay´.)

If the Illegal Immigrants (II´s) are allowed to stay, they will be allowed to vote as soon as a ´Rat President is in office and issues an executive order ordering the end of any enforcement of Voter ID laws, OR works with a leftist ´Rat-appointed federal judge to rule that ALL voter ID laws are ´unconstitutional´..... and the legal fight gets strung out for years, meantime with the II´s voting 90-100% ´Rat, over whelming the American citizens and installing ´Rat politicians, who will appoint ´Rat judges, and the feedback cycle continues.

It´s as plain as the nose on your face.
We saw this happen with the Federal government forcing homosexual marriage on all the states, regardless of what the Citizens of the various states voted for.
We live in perilous times.

A mountain of evidence points to a single fact: Russia meddled in the U.S. presidential election of 2016. In both classified and public reports, U.S. intelligence agencies have said Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered actions to interfere with the election. Those actions included the cyber-theft of private data, the placement of propaganda against particular candidates, and an overall effort to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process. Members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have held open and closed door hearings to probe Russia’s actions. The congressional investigations are ongoing. After Kevin Spacey was excised from the upcoming movie All the Money in the World (his scenes to be reshot with Christoper Plummer), I modestly proposed that Hollywood remove and reshoot Spacey’s scenes in Beyond the Sea and The Usual Suspects, and destroy all copies of American Beauty — that hackneyed attempt at a takedown of suburban America. This expungement, I said in jest, was the required remedy for Spacey’s sexual assaults and related misconduct. Bitcoin has been much in the news recently, particularly because of the meteoric increase in the price of a bitcoin — from less than a dollar in 2009 to (at this moment as I type on 10 December 2017) about $15,440, up from $10,012 as I typed the first draft on 30 November 2017. Sometimes talking to leftists could better be accomplished with interpretive dance routines, or perhaps by miming our meaning. For weeks now, I’ve been stewing over a yard sign in one of the more virtue-signally parts of Denver Colorado. The sign was bi-colored and two-part, and the top said “We Believe in Science” while the bottom said, “No human being is illegal.” Understand, I didn’t oppose the meaning of those words on that sign, because those words were nonsensical. Or, to quote from one of my favorite books, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein, “null program.” I mean, let’s take

HILLSBORO, Ohio — A year removed from our newspaper’s endorsement of Donald Trump for president, the most frequent question I get in emails and letters are from Trump critics asking whether I regret the endorsement. I find it an odd question. It’s reflective of a similar theme often directed at Trump supporters in columns from many of our nation’s leading op-ed writers, especially after a presidential tweet-storm or inflammatory comment or action. “Will President Trump’s supporters finally desert him?” they ask. Through the years, it became an accepted tenet of American politics that promises made and personas adopted by presidential candidates to

CLEARWATER — It was the evangelical Christian right that cheered President Donald Trump’s early promise to revoke the law that forbids churches, with their tax-exempt status, from endorsing political candidates. Now that Republican lawmakers have tucked a provision softening the Johnson Amendment into the House tax reform bill, the impact could be broader than the Trump supporters envisioned, giving aid to the Church of Scientology, with its history of seeking legitimacy through proximity to politicians. While the House version of the tax overhaul includes wording allowing religious leaders and nonprofits to back candidates without losing their tax-exempt status, the Senate version doesn’t

The rules of interaction between women and men in the workplace have been changed with a suddenness that inevitably produces unforeseen negative consequences, no matter how positive and necessary the switch might be. (snip) With the stakes so high, given the presumption of female veracity and male culpability anytime an objection is raised, men are, frankly, terrified. Get used to it, ladies. That is the other side of the coin of the new normal. The old norms that men (often cluelessly) incorporated into their behavior now have been discarded, but we have no clear understanding of what should replace them. By

President Trump attacked Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) in a sexually suggestive tweet Tuesday morning that implied Gillibrand would do just about anything for money, prompting a swift and immediate backlash. “Lightweight Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, a total flunky for Charles E. Schumer and someone who would come to my office ´begging´ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them), is now in the ring fighting against Trump,” the president wrote. “Very disloyal to Bill & Crooked-USED!”

Several women who have accused US President Donald Trump of sexual assault and harassment were expected Monday to call on Congress to open an investigation. A press conference by the women will be hosted by Brave New Films, a media company that recently produced a clip detailing sexual harassment or assault claims by 16 women against Trump. A press release from Brave New Films on Sunday said the women would relate their accounts of Trump’s alleged “groping, fondling, forcibly kissing, humiliating, and harassing women.” The White House has dismissed all of the accusations as lies. During Trump’s presidential campaign, more than

One of the more obvious things about the Trump economy is how much better it is than the Obama economy. Yet incredibly, President Obama, as if jealously looking on at this night-and-day difference, is trying to claim credit for it. From the Washington Times: Former President Barack Obama is taking credit for the robust economic growth that is taking place under President Trump. At a conference of mayors in Chicago, Mr. Obama congratulated himself Tuesday for strong employment numbers in the U.S. this year, saying his climate-change policies have contributed to growth.

President Donald Trump said Monday a bomb blast in Manhattan highlights the need for an immigration overhaul - as the man arrested was revealed to be part of a large Bangladeshi family sponsored by his aunt or uncle. Trump said that the U.S. ´must fix its lax immigration system, which allows far too many dangerous, inadequately vetted people´ into the country. The Republican president pointed to his controversial travel ban as an example of the kind of policy that needs to be put in place. And he called on Congress to end ´chain migration,´ in which family members are permitted to join relatives
