Colorado on Wednesday announced that it would join 15 other states and the District of Columbia in a lawsuit against President Trump’s decision to phase out the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Gov. John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.) called Trump’s decision to end the program “outrageous,” pressing Congress to “immediately” pass the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act and immigration reforms. “President Trump’s decision to end the DACA program is outrageous and risks the futures of more than 17,000 Coloradans. How can they have standing in a lawsuit where no law exists? DACA is lawless.

The Supreme Court has already ruled that the EO for DACA is unconstitutional, so all this is for show only.

Hickenlooper is a typical Democrat - he thinks more government and higher taxes are the answer to everything. I can´t wait until this POS is out of office.

The core claim here is that actions and powers available to other Chief Executives are not available to Donald Trump because he has ´bad´ intentions. Law and Justice cannot be administered this way. But apparently many judges right up to the Circuit level seem to agree. I would say nine to nothing it gets thrown out. Unless that crazy coot Ruthie Ginsburg goes berserk.

An executive order can be undone by another President´s executive order. LAWS are intended to be made by Congress, NOT the President of the Supreme Court.

For some reason, politicians think we have done away with the Separation of Powers in the Constitution.

Hickenlooper presents himself as a pro-business centrist, but he´s a slimy democrat hack. One interpretation of Colorado joining this lawsuit is Hickenlooper and his contributors don´t want to pay living wages to their employees. An illegal alien who worked at Hickenlooper´s restaurant in lower downtown Denver murdered an off duty policeman execution style in 2005.

Just an another attempt by the liberal Democrats to round up the future votes of DACA supporters. So was the original memo that installed DACA before the election by Obama´s Homeland Security Jeh Johnson.

So, the Democrats are suing to ensure an unconstitutional EO is somehow reversed, and declared constitutional?

Even Obama said he didn´t have this authority, but did it anyhow. This is a Democrat created mess, and they are trying to make political points with it.

The compassionate Trump, provided 6 months for Congress to act on this issue, and find a solution within that time.

If we need more immigrants, simply increase the legal quotas, and improve the time it takes to process legal immigrants through the system.

Re #4, DACA was never even an Executive Order. It was a memorandum from Janet Napolitano, then head of Homeland Security.

It is sometimes referred to as “an executive action”.

After leaving office, President Ronald Reagan created the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award to recognize individuals who have fought to spread liberty worldwide. Nancy Reagan continued the tradition after her husband’s death, and in 2008 she bestowed the honor on human rights icon Natan Sharansky, who credited Reagan’s strong defense of freedom for his own survival in Soviet gulags. Reagan recognized that as leader of the free world, his words carried enormous weight, and he used it to inspire the unprecedented spread of democracy around the world. The White House says it will not negotiate with the Democrats on immigration until the end of the federal government shutdown. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says in a statement that, “We will not negotiate the status of unlawful immigrants while Democrats hold our lawful citizens hostage over their reckless demands.” She adds, “When Democrats start paying our armed forces and first responders we will reopen negotiations on immigration reform.” The government shut down at midnight after Congress failed to pass a spending deal. Sanders says, “Senate Democrats own the Schumer Shutdown,” adding,

Obama’s current office, which is run by former de facto President Valerie Jarrett, is just a mile or so from the White House. It is at that location one sees a daily procession of donors, political operatives, party affiliates (BOTH Democrat and Republican) media friends (of which there are many) and more shadowy figures representing a myriad of foreign interests. And each day this office and its two primary inhabitants – Obama and Jarrett, are asked the same question: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT TRUMP? Obama being Obama, with his solar-system-sized ego intact, has been promising to do

A proposed Assembly Constitutional Amendment by Assemblymen Kevin McCarty, D -Sacramento and Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, would create a tax surcharge on California companies making more than $1 million so that half of their federal tax cut would instead go to programs that benefit low-income and middle class families.
