President Donald Trump watched and enjoyed Steve Bannon’s interview with CBS anchor Charlie Rose on 60 Minutes, according to a report. “He thought that it was an articulate and forceful defense of him, as well as a very strong and very intelligent positioning of some of the core issues of the administration,” a person familiar with Trump’s thinking told the Washington Post. Bannon defended the president’s agenda, challenging establishment Republicans for trying to block it in Congress. “The Republican establishment is trying to nullify the 2016 election. That’s a brutal fact we have to face,” he said. Bannon said that
Everybody in the country knows the GOPe is sabotaging Trump. It´s not a secret. People do notice when Congress has done nothing for 8 months. Many have gone so as to wonder what is the use of this Congress? Some have even thought the GOPe should be removed from office, and as soon as possible.
During a meeting at the White House on immigration, President Trump told Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen never to “mention seven years again” in reference to the timeframe that DHS claimed it would take to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.“I can build it for less,” Trump said in regard to the recent DHS report which stated that it would cost them $18 billion to build the border wall. “I must tell you, I’m looking at these prices and somebody said $42 billion,” Trump said. “This is like the aircraft carrier. A federal judge has blocked the Trump administration´s decision to end a program protecting young immigrants from deportation. US District Judge William Alsup granted a request on Tuesday to prevent President Donald Trump from ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program while their lawsuits play out in court. DACA has protected about 800,000 minors who were brought to the US illegally as children or came with families who overstayed visas. It includes hundreds of thousands of college-age students. Alsup said the administration must resume accepting renewal applications from individuals who were already enrolled in the program. The Trump

Scott Adams argues in Win Bigly that President Trump has "weapons grade" persuasion skills. In the tumble over Fire and Fury, those skills are on display, as Trump deploys political jiu-jitsu to suck up the "media energy" and turn the tables on his detractors, as described in four columns linked at realclearpolitics.com. James S. Robbins, writing at usatoday.com, says Trump has turned the tables on the "overwrought speculation about the president´s mental fitness": Not one to shy away from a fight, President Trump punched back that not only is he a successful chief executive, [but] he´s a "very stable genius"
So much for the hysteria over Donald Trump’s mental health and KFC-in-the-bedroom detachment, eh? Put aside the policy considerations — or don’t, depending on where you land on the comprehensive-immigration continuum — and marvel at this instant reaction from the media platform Trump looooooves to hate. At just the moment when long-distance psychology had gripped the national media, Trump decided to keep the cameras rolling while negotiating with members of Congress from both parties — and dominated the discussion. Wolf Blitzer started off by trying to discuss the substance of the meeting, but Gloria Borger shifted gears immediately to the
Trump urged bitterly partisan legislators to put their country first as he continued to try to make good on his campaign promise of sweeping immigration reform. President Trump wants to put an end to chain migration and a “visa immigration lottery” that admits people from all over the world into the U.S. largely unvetted. But, it’s Trump’s border wall that poses the biggest obstacle to getting any sort of cooperation from liberals. Trump addressed the controversial issue at the White House on Tuesday, and with Demcorats at the table he called for bi-partisan support. (Video) Democrats are demanding that DACA – the

The sons and daughters of one northern New Jersey town have served in every war since the American Revolution. And there are monuments across town honoring those who served and those who died. The snow and ice can pile up pretty quickly during the winter months -- making some of the memorials off-limits to elderly veterans. So the Nutley High School Patriot Club decided to do something about it. About a dozen young men and one young lady got up early on Jan. 5 and made their way to the snow-covered memorials. They were bundled in heavy coats and armed

Oprah Winfrey´s Golden Globes speech Sunday night inspired calls for her to run for president in 2020, and on Monday, sources confirmed she is serious about such an endeavor. One photo might have the ability to sink her candidacy, however. Winfrey posed while kissing the notorious Harvey Weinstein. (Weinstein has been credibly accused by more than 50 women of using his position in Hollywood to force them to have sex with him in order to help their careers.) (Snip) Winfrey´s Golden Globes speech actually underscores the significance of this photo and her time working with Weinstein in Hollywood. Winfrey dressed in black,

During a rousing nine-minute address, the talk show host touched on women’s rights, the importance of a free press and what it meant to be the first black woman to receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award. Before receiving a standing ovation, she closed with the promise “a new day is on the horizon”, adding fuel to rumours the entertainment mogul could have her eyes on the White House. Clinton Scandals: As the media focus on Donald Trump´s mental condition and whether he can be kicked out of office using the 25th Amendment, something far more significant is taking place: Former slam-dunk-future-first-woman-president Hillary Clinton, after avoiding any serious scrutiny for her misconduct while secretary of state, now sits at the center of a growing number of investigations — any of which might lead to a special counsel and criminal charges. No doubt, Democrats, who with the leftist media allies have ginned up bogus charges of Russian collusion against Donald Trump, would like the Clinton investigations to go away. But
Some Democratic lawmakers are renewing their campaign this week of questioning President Trump’s mental fitness for office, aided by a psychiatrist who is drawing ethics rebukes from her peers for giving opinions about the president without having examined him.Lawmakers will gather for dinner Wednesday night at the Washington home of Rep. Rosa DeLauro, Connecticut Democrat, in a “salon-like” setting to hear from Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale University professor and forensic psychiatrist who believes Mr. Trump is “dangerous” and requires a mental-capacity exam.DeLauro spokesman Will Serio confirmed the planned dinner meeting but couldn’t say how many lawmakers are expected to
David Cameron thought Barack Obama was one of the ´most narcissistic, self-absorbed people´ he had ever dealt with, his former strategy guru has claimed. While in office the two leaders had a cosy bromance and were pictured high-fiving and playing rounds of golf and ping pong together. But Steve Hilton tore into Mr Obama for thinking he was ´smarter´ than everyone else in the room. And he claimed that his old boss Mr Cameron would get wound up by the ex President´s self absorption. He said: ´My old boss, former British prime minister David Cameron, thought Obama was one of the most narcissistic,
“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski said her jet-setting friends are embarrassed to be Americans while discussing if there was any reason for optimism in the Trump era on Monday.“I had some friends that went to Paris over the holiday… and they said they were just viscerally embarrassed to be American,” Brzezinski said. The MSNBC star´s co-host and fiancé, Joe Scarborough, perhaps realizing she wasn’t speaking to the average American, tried to intervene with a joke, asking, and “Paris, Texas right?”“Paris, France,” she responded. “They said it was the first time that it was sort of chilling.”Brzezinski said her friends “didn’t even
ALBANY – Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo thinks he has a way to end run President Trump. If the president´s federal tax overhaul plan is going to hit thousands of New Yorkers with higher tax bills, then New York will circumvent Washington by rewriting part of its complex tax code, Cuomo reasons. But it’s not so easy. The basic premise of the still-evolving state plan, vaguely unveiled during Cuomo’s State of the State speech last week, is to sharply reduce the state’s reliance on income taxes that employees pay by starting a new, statewide payroll tax that employers would pay. It’s

Forget baby showers. There´s a proposal to give every newborn in the United States a Baby Bond account with somewhere between $500 and $50,000 in cash. Neither the kids nor their parents would be able to touch the money until the child turned 18. Then the young adult could spend the trust fund on attending college, buying a home or starting a business. The whole point of Baby Bonds would be to dramatically lessen wealth inequality in America, according to the economist who came up with the idea, Darrick Hamilton of The New School and William Darity of Duke University.
