Dealmaker: 65% back Trump outreach
to Democrats, even most Republicans

Washington Examiner, by Paul Bedard

A solid majority of voters support President Trump´s outreach to Democrats to make deals he can´t with Republicans, according to a new survey that endorses his new relationship with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, even 51 percent of Republican voters and self-described conservatives support the president´s actions. The survey is more bad news for Republicans because it shows GOP voters eagerly endorsing Trump´s decision to abandon his party. And it shows that voters have little faith in their House and Senate leaders to help the president. Trump has spent the summer

The thing is that he reached out to them on an issue that was already just a political hoo ha anyway. The GOP was going to cave to Dems on raising the debt ceiling, but only after a lot of harrumphing and ticking off of the base. So he went around them and made nice with the Dems. They get a win, he gets a win.

Traitors don´t get to win, and that´s what GOPe is.

The fear I have is that Trump might actually think the Dems are his friends. That they won´t impeach him the second they have the majority. And they are likely to get the majority in one or both houses the way the GOP is playing this.

It´s a nest of vipers. I hope he knows what he´s doing.

8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”

Dance with them what brung ya, President Trump, and advance their agenda only. Do not deal with Senator Satan.

Bedard is right. We the people have little to no faith in our legislators at all. What are they in DC for? They don´t write the bills do they?, they mostly take bribes from lobbyists for corporations that want things favorable to their interests, not ours. Who can blame our President by- passing the slothful to get the job done?

#5: The GOPe did not bring President Trump. They did all they could to prevent his being elected. They are part of the UniParty swamp.

Embracing and dancing with any of the UniParty "leaders" (Dem or Pub) will have the same outcome. That is why a new party is needed to ultimately be rid of all of them.

Time to take a step back and consider this:

1) Trump is branded a Republican, but is "Independent". He seems to have been registered with both major parties and the Reform Party, as well.

2) Trump is a dealmaker. He will make deals. He is not an ideologue - so the deals he makes will be pragmatic and not necessarily satisfying to his supporters. Some call this 3-D chess...I call it politics. So when that big, beautiful wall comes with big, beautiful gates and "comprehensive reform" that includes amnesty by whatever name, don´t be surprised or upset.

3) The two major parties are a "Uniparty", with one "conservative" only in the sense that it hangs half a step behind the "radical" other and claims to hold traditions dear. Both are institutionalized by such things as ballot access laws and public campaign financing. Both "fix" elections for their favored sons and daughters. Both put on various acts for the "booboisie". It´s just business to any/all of them. H. L. Mencken correctly described democracy as "the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage."

CAIRO - Saudi Arabia has called for an urgent meeting of Arab League foreign ministers in Cairo next week to discuss Iran’s intervention in the region, an official league source told Egypt’s MENA state news agency on Sunday. The call came after the resignation of Lebanon’s prime minister pushed Beirut back into the center of a rivalry between Sunni kingdom Saudi Arabia and Shi‘ite Iran and heightened regional tensions.

WASHINGTON — A growing number of House Republicans are choosing to voluntarily drain the swamp one year ahead of the midterm elections. Nearly two dozen congressional Republicans have so far announced they will not be running for re-election, leaving Democrats enthusiastic about the potential for major gains in the 2018 elections. Nine Republicans are running for a different elected position, while 12 are retiring. And while Congressional retirements are common (on average, 22 House members retire each cycle, according to a CQ Roll Call analysis), the numbers so far are glaringly one-sided. Just two Democratic House members have announced retirements, while six

Roy Moore’s refusal to bow out of Alabama’s special election for a Senate seat is the latest demonstration of the diminished power of congressional leaders and other, once-powerful institutions in Washington. The Republican nominee, accused of sexual contact with a 14-year-old when he was a 32-year-old local prosecutor, brushed off calls for him to stand down as part of plot by establishment figures to “undermine this campaign” before the Dec. 12 ballot. Moore ignored the severing of financial ties by the National Republican Senatorial Committee for similar reasons. He summed up today’s environment in a fundraising pitch to supporters Friday morning: “I

When the House passed a preliminary tax reform bill earlier this month the Republican Senate leadership moved quickly to slow the process. The effort has been led (again) by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. The primary motivation for the delay isn’t coming from a desire for more time to further review the steps toward eventual tax reform passage but rather to muddy the waters and ultimately ensure it is as weak and ineffectual bill that will provide as little political momentum for President Trump. You may have thought that Republicans had sunk as low as they could possibly go last year when they nominated for the presidency a man who was singularly unfit, morally and mentally, for that post. “If these allegations are true,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Thursday, “he must step aside.” That was the typical Republican reaction to the accusation that Roy Moore, Alabama´s GOP nominee for the Senate, sexually accosted a 14-year-old girl when he was a local prosecutor decades ago. This is the most reasonable position. A child sex predator does not belong in the Senate and certainly does not deserve the support of the Republican Party. Second, there’s got to be some presumption of innocence. Whether the accusation is of sexual assault, public corruption, or anything else, an accusation is not proof
