Defense Secretary Mattis Uses Disparaging
Term in Speech to Navy

NBC News, by Adam Edelman

Original Article

Posted By:BaseballFan, 8/15/2017 7:12:42 PM

Defense Secretary James Mattis isn’t keeping private any of his feelings about what it means to serve in the U.S. Navy. In an Aug. 9 speech, Mattis bluntly praised Navy sailors for their service, telling them it meant “you’re not some pussy sitting on the sidelines.” “You will have some of the best days of your life and some of the worst days of your life in the U.S. Navy, you know what I mean?” Mattis told sailors stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, in Washington state.

Comments:
And to our outstanding Secretary of Defense I say: HOO YAH! THANK YOU, MR. SECRETARY !

Oh my did was NBC newsman shocked to hear Sec. Mattis speak to the Navy personnel on their terms? Good for him. Guess Edelman never served in the military and had to use a "disparaging" word to describe Sec. Mattis! What a joke! Didn´t offend me!!!

I was in the Navy for 8 years, 50 years ago. The banter between Marines and Sailors was legion. If I were to tell you what we called the 13-button flap in the front of our dress blues I would be banned for life, and so would all my descendants.

General Mattis spoke in the colloquial banter reserved for comrades in arms. He established a personal relationship with those sailors he spoke to. He reminded them his is a fellow serviceman and has their back. They would follow him to the ends of the earth, even if he is a jarhead.

Sounds like he is a throwback to General Patton, who when asked what he thought of D.C. politicians replied that he never met one of them who would not pee on the American flag for a vote.

Look for the liberal Democrats to now put Mattis on their removal list, as clearly the liberal Democrats are dreaming on nailing up a bunch of scalps as they go about peeling off President Trump´ appointees and staff one by one. A California black socialist congress critter was on Fox News tonight and gave her top three Trump staff members that she and other liberal Democrats want Trump to fire, first is Brannon, then comes Gorka, then Miller. If those liberals and their media allies have their way Trump won´t even have a cook in the White House at the end of his first term. Clearly the Democrats are still in denial that they lost the election and think that they should have the final say as to the makeup of Trump´s appointees and White House staff.

I served aboard a brand new guided missle destroyer while in the Navy in the mid 60s. Our first captain came across as a prissy sissy and had very little respect from the crew. He was so unremarkable I can´t remember his name. Our second captain, "Screamin" Jack Shanahan came up through the ranks to become an officer. He wasn´t above using salty language to get a point across and had the respect of all. Mattis reminds me of his matter of fact way of speaking. He wasn´t called "Screamin" because of his actions. It was simply used as a term of endearment much like Mad Dog is used for Mattis. A man worthy of respect. Not for his language, but for his leadership.

Mr Trump issued a moratorium last month instructing the military to stop providing gender reassignment surgeries for transgender troops, and to stop plans to recruit those troops. That decision came following an order from his predecessor that instructed the military to begin considering programmes to allow transgender people to serve openly and without worry in the military. Facing harsh criticism, a Harvard dean said early Friday morning that he was revoking his invitation to Chelsea Manning, a former United States soldier convicted of leaking classified information, to be a visiting fellow at the university. After months of denials, the pretext for Susan Rice’s eavesdropping on Trump officials has finally been made public. It had been widely known that Obama’s former National Security Adviser had contrived to unmask the names of top Trump officials who had been spied on by the administration. And the same media that still treats Watergate as the Great American Scandal had claimed that there was nothing “improper” in an Obama loyalist eavesdropping on members of the opposition party. Every time Obama Inc. was caught eavesdropping on opposition politicians, it presented its spin in a carefully packaged “scoop” to a major media

While promoting her newly released memoir, Hillary Clinton has placed blame on several factors for her loss to Donald Trump last November — from her own mistakes, to Russian interference in the U.S. election, and the late intervention by then-FBI director James Comey. But Clinton has also spoken candidly about how deep-rooted sexism played a hand in her defeat, and about the double standards she faced as the first woman nominated by a major party for president in America’s 240-year history. In an interview with the New York Times published Saturday, Clinton spoke further about how misogyny is used as

Almost no commentator, no reviewer, has mentioned the most newsworthy fact about Hillary Clinton´s latest memoir—which is the near total lack of anything actually newsworthy in the book. With What Happened, Clinton would at last "let down her hair," Simon & Schuster´s publicists loudly proclaimed before the book´s publication. And that was the line dutifully repeated by reporter after reporter, as though it were a fact. As though, coming from Clinton´s people, it didn´t need to be checked or reported with even the slight distancing of "Hillary Clinton says she´s let down her hair in her new book." But then,
