What difference does it make? Bad ideas work their way back to worse premises. The ‘worse premise’ of the bad idea of NeverTrump was that it didn’t really matter if Hillary won. It was an echo of Hillary’s infamous Benghazi testimony. What difference does it make anyway if the woman behind the Arab Spring were running our foreign policy and if the Clinton Foundation’s gallery of rogue donors were running everything else? It sure as hell didn’t make a difference to NeverTrumpers who were too busy grading Trump on table manners and finding implausible reasons to believe that President Hillary
Comments: Now that President Trump is proving to be the most conservative president since Reagan, it´s time for the NeverTrumpers to admit that they like, kinda, wanted Hillary and Bill back in the Oval Office.
It´s time for WHAT Never Trumpers to admit they kinda sorta wanted Billary back?
The only Republican versions I know of who might fit that description are over at Commentary and maybe a couple other rarefied habitats in DC and Manhattan, but that is IT. None I know of here. As much as I truly dislike Trump as a person -- and that feeling has arisen anew as of yesterday -- I would still walk over hot coals to vote for him again. No way would I undo Gorsuch, the saving of Christians and other non-Muslims out of the Mideast, his continuing deregulating, and the many accomplishments of his intelligent appointees.
Greenfield focuses on one Never Trumper: John Podhoretz. but Podhoretz wasn´t Never Trump; he was pro-Hillary. And why not? He was a liberal turned neo-con and Hillary was a liberal neo-con. But there were many Never Trump people who were equally Never Hillary.
Trump is a sidearm pitcher and throws a mean curve ball. NeverTrumpers can hit overhand pitches (Hillary throws overhand) but refuse to figure out how to hit a sidearm fast ball from a sidearm pitcher. They act like major league players who demand that the opposing team bench their sidearm pitcher and put an overhand pitcher on the mound. NeverTrumpers cannot figure out why they´re striking out.
This election exposed so many people under a glaring light. Or we could say the sun breaking through the dark dark clouds and drying up the fakes, the false and people whom I do not consider conservatives anymore. It has felt like when Peggy Noonan went all cheerleader breathless for Obama and made really rude snide remarks about Sarah Palin off mic, ( she thought). Showing their true colors. I do not understand these people.
Good post #15 and I would add, this revealing of fakes and phonies strips bare (oh, dear hearts forgive me for the visual this conjures up) the RINOs and fellow travelers who oppose President Trump in instituting a truly conservative government.

What people should be asking themselves is why do we even pay attention to NeverTrumpChump political pundits when they have a horrible track record of being wrong on every conceivable issue in relation to candidates and there messages? The examples are far too numerous times list.
What exactly qualifies their opinions to be of higher value then most of those who post here?
It surely can´t be the ability to pick winning presidential candidates nor what reasonates with voters outside the beltway. In these issues they have proven themselves to be woahfully and pathetically inept. Yet they smugly snicker chidding those who point out the obvious glaring flaws in their logic and choice of candidate.
Basically, who the hell do these bowtied wearing punters think they are anyway?
"Russia, Russia, Russia" isn´t working and may actually turn against the Democrats. What is next in their playbook? The usual racism page, although this time, it is for all of the marbles. With nothing to run on besides "Trump is evil," and with the Awan scandal ahead, they have no choice. Twenty-eighteen will be a bloodbath for them in a regular election, so they have to suppress turnout, if not eliminate it. More and more, Charlottesville looks like a setup. Jason Kessler, who organized the "Unite the Right" event, seems to have a history with the left. Aside from his Occupy
The people who are tearing down statues of Confederates in the South are barbarians, not notably different from the Taliban fanatics who blow up Buddhas and other historical monuments. Many have noted that if the barbarians want to erase Robert E. Lee and Jefferson Davis today, it is only a matter of time before they come for George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. We can add Abraham Lincoln to that list. Last night, a bust of Lincoln in Chicago was vandalized, apparently as a political act: Abraham Lincoln has joined George Washington on the list of those targeted by Chicagoans in
In the days since violent clashes at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville culminated in a neo-Nazi sympathizer driving his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, journalists have mainstreamed the self-described “anti-fascists” (or “antifa”) at the rally — largely ignoring their involvement in the escalating political violence in this country. Many establishment political figures insisted the far-left actors were just like American soldiers on D-Day. But these “anti-fascists´” own statements show they’re nothing like American soldiers on D-Day. They aren’t interested in protecting America’s system of government, according to their own statements — they’re interested in destroying it. From the very start of
America beat the Nazis. Then America beat the Commies. Now some self-styled Nazis are fighting some self-styled Commies on American soil, and our veterans have been drafted without their knowledge or consent. The Greatest Generation are now Communists, whether they like it or not. Ladies and gentlemen: Our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the media will congratulate themselves now. It’s weird how all these guys had the same idea at the same time, huh? I think this pretty much confirms the existence of JournoList 2.0. My grandfather was a career Navy man. He stood up to the Nazis, and
Marty Baron lives in a $1.7 million condo in Logan Circle. It’s seven blocks away from the headquarters of the Washington Post. And a 12 minute drive away from the FBI’s J Edgar Hoover Building. Arrest him. His paper’s latest contribution to wrecking this country is an editorial titled "Charlottesville showed that liberalism can´t defeat white supremacy. Only direct action can." It concludes with, “Start throwing rocks." "Resistance, be it forceful or clandestine, threatened or explicit, stands as our ´rock.´ Rocks can look like armed self-defense or nonviolent direct-action campaigns," N.D. B. Connolly, a history professor at Johns Hopkins who
Hundreds of pro-Trump demonstrators and anti-Trump counter-protesters converged at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle on Sunday, resulting in several arrests and the confiscation of weapons. The rally, organized by the conservative group Patriot Prayer, came one day after violent clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia, that left three people dead and dozens injured. Counter-protesters -- including antifa, Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), Veterans for Peace, Indivisible Seattle, Black Lives Matter, and the Freedom Socialist Party -- marched "in solidarity against hate," specifically against what they called “the bigotry, racism and violence" of the "far-right" organizers. Solidarity Against Hate counter-protesters waved communist flags,
President Trump is still facing a torrent of criticism for his responses to the Charlottesville violence. After calling out the hatred and violence from “many sides” on Saturday, Trump finally did what the media demanded and condemned white nationalists and other hate groups by name. Yet, that wasn’t good enough for the chattering class, and the new denunciation is not winning the president any goodwill. While it’s certainly true the president could have articulated a better message over the weekend, his administration is taking a very hard line on the Charlottesville violence. The Department of Justice is launching a civil
Don´t tell anybody, but I´m actually beginning to love Trump. Not physically, natch, but as our funniest and most truthful president since Calvin Coolidge. Normal Americans have watched our politics turn to mud for a quarter century, since Bill Clinton, the Arkansas corruptocrat. We´ve watched it and watched it while the media turned into a copycat Soviet propaganda ministry, and now, finally, somebody is acting like an adult and talking without having to explain every single word. We know the State Department has been Foggy Bottom for decades, a place where Harvard grads go to rusticate -- effectively, to die as real
In Dallas, a black nationalist activist shot and killed 5 police officers at a Black Lives Matter anti-police rally. Instead of condemning BLM, Barack Obama defended a racist hate group whose role model is Assata Shakur, a wanted black nationalist cop killer, at the funerals of the murdered officers. The left killed civil rights and replaced it with black nationalism. The racial supremacism of black nationalism that killed those officers is everywhere. Ta-Nehisi Coates and Ibram X. Kendi are lionized as brilliant thinkers instead of hateful racists, Amazon has ordered a black nationalist secessionist fantasy from Aaron McGruder and Showtime aired
Allum Bokhari: You are one of a number of current and former Google employees speaking out in the wake of the Viewpoint Diversity Memo. Is there anything particular that makes you support the principles in that document? Emmett: I’m happy you asked. I’m also happy you’re giving the document a more accurate name, as the mainstream media has almost universally been calling it the “Anti-Diversity Memo” which is both stupid and a lie. The fundamental starting point of the document is that there exist documented differences between men and women, which we see hash out in real life. That is
How many AT readers have found that they can no longer do a useful Google search on any news topic? The only hits that come up are liberal. Even the Wall Street Journal does not make it, although minor liberal papers like the Christian Science Monitor do. To find interesting commentary and reporting I trust, I have to go to my list of favorite websites and search on their pages. Following the firing this week of a valued employee for the thoughtcrime of questioning gender quotas, Breitbart is running a series called "Rebels of Google." Whistleblower employees are exposing the purposeful
One of the unspoken ´indications´ in the medical sense of the ever-metastasizing Trump Derangement Syndrome is that the sufferers have a deep conscious/unconscious fear that Trump is right. What if the man they have excoriated unremittingly as a barbarian-racist-xenophobe-homophobe -misogynist-nitwit turns out to have been on the correct side of a fair number of issues on which they have failed, sometimes miserably, for decades? Talk about personality disintegration — it would be hari-kari meets the Wicked Witch of the West. Well, emotionally anyway. The current North Korea crisis is a perfect case in point. Susan Rice — has this woman no
An internal civil war is tearing at the fabric of Fox News. The events of the past week have brought the long-simmering conflict closer to the surface. The legitimacy and viability of President Trump are under constant assault in the mainstream media as never before – and that is saying something. Fox News Channel executives, staff, and on air talent are taking sides. The future direction of the right-of-center, fair and balanced Fox News approach to presenting the news may well be in serious doubt. Monday´s solar eclipse is already tying up traffic in areas along the path of totality, or the vein of regions along the US where people can view the full eclipse. Oregonians so far are seeing the brunt of the traffic as revelers have started pouring into central Oregon, clogging roadways and draining gas supplies in rural towns, all in hopes of catching the full splendor of this once in a lifetime celestial event. The nightmare scenario for locals in the state started emerging Wednesday when traffic backed up for 12 miles on US Highway 26 as people began to set
The Republican Party´s collective response to Donald Trump´s handling of the Charlottesville race riots turned uglier on Friday. Mitt Romney, the failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate and former Massachusetts governor whom Trump has bashed relentlessly for more than two years, lashed out against him on Facebook for what he said was a hamfisted message during Tuesday´s press conference – and demanded a full-throated apology from the president. (Snip) Trump´s remoteness from the rest of the GOP has become so severe that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, a longtime ally of the president´s, sounded a loud alarm Friday morning.
Durham — The new president of Duke University has ordered the removal of a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee after it was vandalized earlier this week. “I took this course of action to protect Duke Chapel, to ensure the vital safety of students and community members who worship there, and above all to express the deep and abiding values of our university,” President Vincent Price said in a statement released Saturday morning. “The removal also presents an opportunity for us to learn and heal,” Price said, adding that the statue will be preserved so students “can study Duke’s complex past
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi issued a statement today declaring her support for the Congress to pass a resolution censuring President Donald Trump for “the repulsiveness” of his “words and actions.” “Every day, the president gives us further evidence of why such a censure is necessary,” said Pelosi. The censure resolution was introduced in the House of Representatives today by Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D.-N.Y.), Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D.-N.J.) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D.-Wash.). The resolution immediately gathered 77 co-sponsors, all of whom are Democrats. “The President’s remarks following the violence in Charlottesville over the weekend are a moral outrage,”
A House Democrat introduced a resolution on Friday suggesting that President Trump undergo a physical and mental health exam to help determine whether he is fit for office. Rep. Zoe Lofgren’s (D-Calif.) resolution specifically calls on Vice President Pence and Trump’s Cabinet members to “quickly secure the services of medical and psychiatric professionals” to “assist in their deliberations” invoking the 25th Amendment, which outlines presidential removal procedures. It posits that such an examination by doctors would “determine whether the president suffers from mental disorder or other injury that impairs his abilities and prevents him from discharging his Constitutional duties.
The chairman and president of the Kennedy Center said they were “grateful for this gesture” after it was announced President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump would not attend the Kennedy Center Honors in December. “The Kennedy Center respects the decision made today by the office of the president of the United States,” chairman David M. Rubenstein and president Deborah F. Rutter said in a joint statement. “In choosing not to participate in this year’s Honors activities, the administration has graciously signaled its respect for the Kennedy Center and ensures the Honors gala remains a deservingly special moment for the
Yvette Felarca, the Berkeley area school teacher and militant left-wing protester responsible for organizing the riot at the University of California, Berkeley in February 2017, claims that violence against the far-right is “not a crime.” Felarca, who belongs to “By Any Means Necessary,” a far-left group, is currently facing assault charges after she was caught on video assaulting a white supremacist during a July 2016 rally in Sacramento, Cali. (Video) The school teacher and her compatriots engaged in violent clashes against members of the far-right Traditional Worker’s Party, which had a permit to march in the city. The violence between
Colin Kaepernick may not be employed by an NFL team, but he continues to be a fixture in the NFL’s 24-hour news cycle. The free-agent quarterback will have his own exhibit at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, according to the Twitter feed, @BlackToLive. (Snip) This comes on the heels of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture collecting Kaepernick’s jersey, which was worn during one of his national anthem protests, along with other clothing items to be displayed in an exhibit. Sociologist and author Harry Edwards encouraged the museum in its efforts to display something
Missouri State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal hoped for the assassination of President Trump in a Facebook comment on Thursday then deleted it in a panic. She even acknowledged she would get a visit from the Secret Service for her comment. (Photo) Maria Chappelle-Nadal’s Facebook comment was so egregious that even ABC News reported on the story. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports: Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, posted a comment in a Facebook conversation Thursday morning saying she hoped President Donald Trump will be assassinated. The comment has since been removed. But Chappelle-Nadal confirmed to the Post-Dispatch that she had written
I just did something fascinating. I just watched the President’s entire 14-minute impromptu news conference at Trump Tower on Monday that sparked all the latest barrage of anti-Trump screeds from the left media that will criticize him every day, no matter what he does, augmented by the “Never Trump” Republicans and neo-conservatives who will not rest until they can re-conquer the political party they lost because of three terms of two failed Bush presidencies, followed by the two failed Presidential candidacies of Sen. John McCain and of Gov. Mitt Romney. Not the reportage about the conference, but the entire 14 minutes
Ever since Six Flags opened in 1961, the six flags that have flown over Texas have been a staple of the park.No more. As of Friday morning, the five flags other than the United States flag — representing Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas and the Confederacy — are being left to the history books. The park received criticism following last weekend’s violence in Charlottesville, Va., from TMZ, Fox News and others for flying the Confederate states flag. As a result, Six Flags Over Texas decided to take down all but the U.S. flag. Staff has split headline, added more text and spelled byline correctly.
