Manchester mosque has been significantly damaged in a suspected overnight arson attack. The Manchester Nasfat Islamic Centre on Droylsden Road caught fire late on Sunday night. Emergency services were called at around 11.40pm and around 30 firefighters worked to tackle the blaze, which is now being treated as suspicious. If you can´t keep your own clan from yelling Allahu Akbar then blowing people up, you may make them angry. Assuming you didn´t do it yourself.

Better pass some more hate crime legislation quick. If this kind of behavior isn´t stopped in its tracks, well, you know, someone might strap on a suicide vest and blow up a bunch of muslims at a kid´s concert.

Well roll up a prayer rug and beat me over the head I saw that coming. Burn your own mosque and blame it on the ´infidels´. That´s too easy and there´s no sympathy here.

Hillary Clinton likes baths and showers, enjoys vodka and Chardonnay and thinks she ran for president against both Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. Those were some of the answers she divulged when playing the ´boxers or briefs?´ game onstage of D.C.´s Warner Theatre with Politics & Prose co-owner Lissa Muscatine, as part of the first stop on her 15-city tour – deemed ´Hillary Clinton Live´ – to promote her new book. The Big Idea: If I had to stock Hillary Clinton’s new memoir in a bookstore, I’d be tempted to place it in a section on self-help or bereavement. “What Happened” was quickly strip-mined for political nuggets after its publication last Tuesday. As I went through it over the weekend, though, what struck me most was how the wounded Democrat coped after her crushing defeat last November. In short, Clinton has read voraciously and eclectically — for escape, for solace and for answers. The collection of works that she cites across 494 pages showcases a top-flight intellect and would make for a compelling graduate school seminar.

One man alone is not to blame for an entire world plunged in Islamic terrorism. But as president, George W. Bush made a difference so very much the wrong way. Six days after we were attacked, Sept 11, 2001, Bush visited a mosque in what can only be called an act of surrender.
