Recent poll suggests more
Californians want to secede

A growing number of Californians want to secede from the U.S., according to a new poll by Supporters of California Independence. Thirty-three percent of the people surveyed were in favor of the idea, the majority of them saying they are progressives or social Democrats. Many of the respondents were moved to their answer by the current political climate. "About half of our supporters wanted an independent California through democratic and peaceful means before Trump, and then the other half got on board when they realized just how broken American politics have become," said Theo Slater of the California National Party.

The people that want to secede should leave, and form their own country somewhere else. They can call it Little Venezuela. They cannot have California.

No.
The ground stays.
The people, on the other hand, are not only welcome to leave, they are encouraged to do so. Venezuela, perhaps. Argentina. Zimbabwe, perhaps, or Tajikistan. Indonesia. Perhaps others. Their relocation would doubtless raise the average IQ in both places. And serve them all right. Bye!!

This will never happen. he democrats will see that it never happens. Without Californistan and its reliably liberal bock vote, there would not be a national Democrat party. If Californistan seceded there there wold be no base for the Democrat party at the national level.

With California, H. Clinton received about 43% of the 538 electoral votes. If you remove California from the 538 total, she would have received only 36% of the remaining 484 electoral votes. No way the Commu-Crats would give up California in their mania to socialize the rest of the country.

Do they actually believe that the natural resources and other economic advantages will be left alone while they eat tree bark and berries and meditate? Actually there are two secession movements going; the normal people in the northern counties (with some southern Oregon counties) have been organizing the State of Jefferson since the 1930’s. It began enjoying quite a revival after Obama’s first term and is still organizing local meetings.

The new entry for total secession are the crazy libs who think losing entitles them to take their beaches and go (where?). This effort is for entertainment purposes only. No way is the Dhim national party going to let 55 electoral votes walk out the door, but it keeps the toddlers distracted while the rest of the country goes MAGA.

However, I’m all in for the State of Jefferson. “XX” is the symbol of the new state to represent how the good people have been “double crossed”, and that has been the symbol since the 1930s!

Unfortunately, the old white guys that did a great job composing our Constitution failed to address how states could opt out of the deal.

The Confederate States desired to secede, and go their own way, just like the American Colonies did with Britain 75 years earlier. But, it appears that anyone wishing to secede will discover that their attempts at secession will result in a war with the Union.

As much I would like for California to depart the Union, I think that from a historical perspective, they will not be allowed to do so.

I remember a few years ago, when Texans got fed up with the ultra-lieberal federal government messing with our state, and there was serious talk about Texas seceding.

The rest of the country cried "NO, you can´t do that!!! Wah, wah, wah!!!".

Now Cuba-fornia threatens the same, and the rest of the country says "YES, do it!!! Go. We will help you pack!!!"

That is because Texas is a state of hard working, patriotic Americans (with the exception of the lie-beral cesspool of Austin). We give for more to the rest of the nation than we take.

Cuba-fornia, on the other hand, is a giant sucking leach -- taking and taking and taking. This nation would be far better off without Cuba-fornia being part of it. And Cuba-fornia would get their wish to be part of the cesspool of Mexico within months of leaving.

Sounds like a win/win to me!!!

If California secedes, they won´t be able to take the Indian and military reservations nor the National Parks and Monuments. Those lands don´t belong to California. They´ll also have to figure out how to make due without resources from the United States, until such times as the necessary international agreements are put into place. And I´m not sure that water from the Colorado river would be included. Sorry SoCal, I´ll guess you´ll have to "Stay Thirsty, Mi Amigos".

As I wrote last week, my broad read on American public opinion on "social issues" is that most people are in favor of inclusion, but that most people dislike being told that they ought to change what they, personally, are doing. So naturally there have been efforts by social conservatives to frame transgender rights issues as being not about inclusion but about imposition on the broader public: That people are trying to make you or your child share a bathroom with someone of a different sex. But I don´t think this is winning over the public. Polling from the Public Religion Research

Our parents threw us out the door in the morning and instructed us not to come back until dinnertime. Often in charge of younger siblings, we strayed further than we should have, got into trouble and, by the end of the summer, had a collection of triumphs, scars and memories for life. Monday on WISN’s “The Jay Weber Show,” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) defended special counsel Robert Mueller and his investigation into Russian election interference by saying Mueller was “anything but” a “biased partisan.” A listener asked Ryan a question about why Republicans in Congress are not doing more to defend Trump against “what is becoming an obvious witch-hunt.” Ryan replied, “Remember, Bob Mueller is a Republican, who was appointed by a Republican, who served in the Republican administration, and crossed over — I mean and stayed on until his term ended.” He continued, “I don’t think many people are saying Bob

Sticky-fingered socialist Bernie Sanders is apparently stealing his neighbor´s Washington Post subscription, as any good socialist might do. In perhaps the funniest and most fitting news of the year, WMAL radio host Chris Plante told his audience of a story he heard from friends about the elderly senator. A man living next to Sanders apparently called the Post to complain that he was hardly ever receiving his subscription. After an investigation into the matter, the paying customer realized that it was his neighbor, Senator Sanders, who was stealing the paper right from under his nose. President Trump´s recent comments undermining Attorney General Jeff Sessions came off as unprofessional to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who may depart his post sooner than expected, according to a report. Trump went after Sessions, his first congressional endorser and a longtime advisor, for having recused himself from oversight of the FBI´s Russia probe, speaking during a New York Times interview last week. ´I think is very unfair to the president,´ Trump said. ´It´s extremely unfair, and that´s a mild word, to the president,´ Trump said in reference to the nation´s top law enforcement officer. Several sources say the former Exxon CEO found

In the most vocal opposition to president Donald Trump yet, former CIA Director John Brennan said that if the White House tries to fire special counsel Robert Mueller, government officials should refuse to follow the president orders, as they would be - in his view - “inconsistent” with the duties of the executive branch. "I think it´s the obligation of some executive branch officials to refuse to carry that out. I would just hope that this is not going to be a partisan issue. That Republicans, Democrats are going to see that the future of this government is at stake

President Donald Trump’s dramatic decision to exclude so-called “transgender” people from the military is a direct rejection of the progressives’ revolutionary demand that Americans’ society should be remade to eliminate all civic recognition of the two different-and-complementary male and female sexes. (Tweets) The Wednesday decision was greeted with anger from the left, which had hoped that the military’s 2016 endorsement of the transgender ideology would push the Supreme Court and legislators nationwide to impose and establish the unpopular claim that a person’s changeable choice of “gender” is more legally important than their biological sex. If endorsed by the courts, that
