Recent poll suggests more
Californians want to secede

A growing number of Californians want to secede from the U.S., according to a new poll by Supporters of California Independence. Thirty-three percent of the people surveyed were in favor of the idea, the majority of them saying they are progressives or social Democrats. Many of the respondents were moved to their answer by the current political climate. "About half of our supporters wanted an independent California through democratic and peaceful means before Trump, and then the other half got on board when they realized just how broken American politics have become," said Theo Slater of the California National Party.

All of the libs, progs, snowflakes have no idea about the consequences, Oh the money and support from federal gov´t will still be there....NOT. But then again, liberalism is a mental disease. Let´s include building the fence around state of California....no one comes out once it is done. Karma can be painful!

The people that want to secede should leave, and form their own country somewhere else. They can call it Little Venezuela. They cannot have California.

No.
The ground stays.
The people, on the other hand, are not only welcome to leave, they are encouraged to do so. Venezuela, perhaps. Argentina. Zimbabwe, perhaps, or Tajikistan. Indonesia. Perhaps others. Their relocation would doubtless raise the average IQ in both places. And serve them all right. Bye!!

With California, H. Clinton received about 43% of the 538 electoral votes. If you remove California from the 538 total, she would have received only 36% of the remaining 484 electoral votes. No way the Commu-Crats would give up California in their mania to socialize the rest of the country.

Sure, but you´d also then need a new army, air force, and navy. Very expensive - ask many NATO countries who can´t even pony-up the 2% of their GDP.

Do those in favor of secession believe that the rest of the world will leave them alone? Do they actually believe that the natural resources and other economic advantages will be left alone while they eat tree bark and berries and meditate? More evidence that progressives or liberals or socialists or whatever they call themselves live in a dream world.

Actually there are two secession movements going; the normal people in the northern counties (with some southern Oregon counties) have been organizing the State of Jefferson since the 1930’s. It began enjoying quite a revival after Obama’s first term and is still organizing local meetings.

The new entry for total secession are the crazy libs who think losing entitles them to take their beaches and go (where?). This effort is for entertainment purposes only. No way is the Dhim national party going to let 55 electoral votes walk out the door, but it keeps the toddlers distracted while the rest of the country goes MAGA.

However, I’m all in for the State of Jefferson. “XX” is the symbol of the new state to represent how the good people have been “double crossed”, and that has been the symbol since the 1930s!

Unfortunately, the old white guys that did a great job composing our Constitution failed to address how states could opt out of the deal.

The Confederate States desired to secede, and go their own way, just like the American Colonies did with Britain 75 years earlier. But, it appears that anyone wishing to secede will discover that their attempts at secession will result in a war with the Union.

As much I would like for California to depart the Union, I think that from a historical perspective, they will not be allowed to do so.

I remember a few years ago, when Texans got fed up with the ultra-lieberal federal government messing with our state, and there was serious talk about Texas seceding.

The rest of the country cried "NO, you can´t do that!!! Wah, wah, wah!!!".

Now Cuba-fornia threatens the same, and the rest of the country says "YES, do it!!! Go. We will help you pack!!!"

That is because Texas is a state of hard working, patriotic Americans (with the exception of the lie-beral cesspool of Austin). We give for more to the rest of the nation than we take.

Cuba-fornia, on the other hand, is a giant sucking leach -- taking and taking and taking. This nation would be far better off without Cuba-fornia being part of it. And Cuba-fornia would get their wish to be part of the cesspool of Mexico within months of leaving.

Sounds like a win/win to me!!!

If California secedes, they won´t be able to take the Indian and military reservations nor the National Parks and Monuments. Those lands don´t belong to California. They´ll also have to figure out how to make due without resources from the United States, until such times as the necessary international agreements are put into place. And I´m not sure that water from the Colorado river would be included. Sorry SoCal, I´ll guess you´ll have to "Stay Thirsty, Mi Amigos".

A new fifth grade teacher at Canopy Oaks Elementary is asking students to use gender-neutral pronouns in the classroom. Math and science teacher Chloe Bressack sent the request home in a letter to parents headlined "About Mx. Bressack." “... my pronouns are ´they, them, their´ instead of ´he, his, she, hers.´ I know it takes some practice for it to feel natural,” the letter reads, “but students catch on pretty quickly.” The letter also asks that students use “Mx.," (pronounced ´Mix´) when addressing the teacher rather than Mr. or Ms. The note alarmed some parents. ABC has greenlit a new sitcom tentatively titled "Sanctuary Family" about an undocumented family living in the U.S. The network says the show will follow the pandemonium that unfolds when a married couple allows their undocumented nanny and her family to live with them. The guests put a strain on the marriage of the host family but they eventually learn that “the differences both families have aren’t as significant as their similarities,” according to the description provided by ABC. Undocumented immigrants are foreign-born people who don’t have a legal right to be or remain in the United States and the

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel used his opening monologue Thursday to once again lambast supporters of the Graham-Cassidy health care bill -- and at one point called a Republican senator from Louisiana an "inbred." The host of ABC´s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has emerged as a strong celebrity advocate for universal health care since his infant son had to undergo open-heart surgery in April. Kimmel made an announcement about his son during a memorable monologue at the time and has taken up the cause ever since. Part of his goal is for every child in the U.S. to have the same access to

Michelle Obama said in a speech Thursday that the White House is currently being led by fear, comparing President Trump´s administration with her husband and former President Obama´s administration. (Snip) “It isn’t just us first,” she said, referring to Trump´s "America first" policies. “We live in a big country and a big world," she said. "You can’t just want to help someone in a hurricane and not make sure they can go to the doctor when they’re sick.” Trump reiterated his "America first" doctrine in a speech to the United Nations General Assembly this week, emphasizing that America would put

The San Francisco 49ers Thursday night game against the Los Angeles Rams kicked off in front of a nearly empty stadium. Los Angeles Times reporter Lindsey Thiry tweeted a photo at the time of kickoff, which showed thousands of open seats. In fact, most sections in the photo have more empty seats than fans. (Tweet/Photo/Video) ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported that 63,500 tickets had been sold for the game, but of course, simply selling a ticket doesn’t mean the buyer will actually show up to the game. It’s hard to believe there are more than 30,000 people in the stadium, judging

Democratic Rep. John Lewis said Thursday he sometimes feels like “taking a bullwhip” to people in order to make them care about civil rights. “It doesn’t matter whether they’re black, or white, Latino, Asian-American or Native American. When you see something that’s not right, not fair, not just, you have an obligation to do something, to say something. They’re just too darn quiet. I really wanna use some other words sometimes,” Lewis told the audience of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Town Hall on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C. “I believe in the philosophy and the discipline of nonviolence, but sometimes

A team of four current and former NFL players is lobbying commissioner Roger Goodell to engage the league in fighting for the cause of social justice, even asking him to formally designate November as activism awareness month. Current players Michael Bennett (Seattle Seahawks), Torrey Smith (Philadelphia Eagles), and Malcolm Jenkins (Philadelphia Eagles), along with former player Anquan Boldin, sent Goodell and another executive a 2,800-word memorandum in August requesting the league invest significant resources in the cause. The memo, available in full here, is specific and thoughtful, but its requests would almost certainly prove divisive among fans, many of whom are
