Auto crashes are on the
rise in marijuana states

CNBC, by Phil LeBeau

A new study finds an increase in accident insurance claims in three states that have approved the sale of marijuana for recreational use. According the Highway Loss Data Institute, the number of vehicle collisions reported to insurance companies in Colorado, Oregon and Washington is 3 percent higher than what would have been expected if those states had not made it legal to buy pot. "We´re concerned about what we´re seeing," said Matt Moore, the institute´s senior vice president. "We see strong evidence of an increased crash risk in states that have approved recreational marijuana sales." While Moore´s research finds a

Let´s see, they measured claim rates as an indicator of accident rates. Hmm, you don´t suppose its possible that when you are doing something illegal it might just decrease the chances of calling the fuzz and reporting compared to the exact same circumstances doing the same thing now made legal?

FTA:

While Moore´s research finds a greater crash risk, his study does not say if the increase in collisions in the three states were directly caused by drivers who were high.

The study also did not look at highway fatality rates in the states that legalized marijuana.

I’m shocked I tell you, shocked!
Yet another example of what liberalism
can do for America (besides ObamaCare,
of course, multi-gender bathrooms,
and the “War on Poverty”).
It´s hard to imagine what goes through the minds
of marijuana-state liberals ... wanting to be stoned, and wanting to make money on others getting stoned seems to be their reason for living, even if that means that drivers may be dying ("What, ME Worry?").

But...but..."It´s not as bad as alcohol."

Doesn´t everyone say don´t drink and drive no one said anything about "harmless" marijuana. I wish they´d stop minimizing the effects of marijuana especially to kids.

Before the year we would have graduated from college, I had lost six classmates to drugs or alcohol. One, who was high on "harmless" pot, overturned his car onto a fire plug and killed the non-smoking girl with him not a half mile from home. That was on the stuff they smoked 40 years ago.

Many years ago I can recall someone asking the late, great Jackie Gleason if he ever indulged in MJ.

Gleason replied that pot might be ok for some but he was much too loyal to Red Label to switch to something else.

Having tried both poisons, I have to agree with Jackie.

A day after the proclamation was issued and spotted on Facebook, Cranley apologized to the officers and their family members, saying "I am here to intentionally stand with you." "Yesterday we unintentionally hurt people in this community... I am deeply sorry," he said. Officers, standing shoulder to shoulder in uniform, were solemn as Cranley spoke, showing no reaction to the apology.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s team is reaching back more than a decade in its investigation of Paul Manafort, a sign of the pressure Mueller is placing on President Donald Trump´s former campaign chairman. The FBI´s warrant for a July search of Manafort´s Alexandria, Virginia, home said the investigation centered on possible crimes committed as far back as January 2006, according to a source briefed on the investigation. The broad time frame is the latest indication that Mueller´s team is going well beyond Russian meddling during the campaign as part of its investigation of Trump campaign associates. Manafort,
