Chaffetz: Trump’s Administration
Isn’t Very Different Than Obama’s

Daily Caller, by Thomas Phippen

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 6/19/2017 6:20:29 PM

Departing Utah Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz is disappointed that President Donald Trump’s administration has not been responsive to congressional oversight requests. Chaffetz, the former chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said that Trump’s administration is almost worse than the previous one when it comes to responding to oversight requests from Congress. “The reality is, sadly, I don’t see much difference between the Trump administration and the Obama administration,” Chaffetz said Sunday on Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson. The Oversight Committee requests documents, communications and testimony from executive agencies at will to investigate allegations of waste, fraud

Comments:
Seriously? His departure at the end of June cannot come soon enough. He has been absolutely worthless. I can´t name one thing that he has accomplished. He bloviated a lot during the Benghazi horror show and look what we got out of that. Absolutely nothing. Chaffetz was forceful in his grilling at various hearings and then never followed through. That´s really bad since he is chairman of the Oversight Committee.

Contd. How about Lois Lerner and the reprehensible hack Koskinen? Chaffetz recommended censure in May of 2016 of Koskinen that was the first step on the path to impeachment. That was a year ago. Impeachment never happened and Koskinen is still there. Once again he and the Republicans failed. .Those are but two examples. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

When Senator Robert Menendez of New Jersey goes on trial on federal corruption charges in less than three weeks, far more than his own fate hinges on the outcome. If Mr. Menendez, a Democrat, is convicted and then expelled from the United States Senate by early January, his replacement would be picked by Gov. Chris Christie, the Republican governor of New Jersey and an ally of President Trump. That scenario — where Mr. Menendez’s interim replacement would more than likely be a Republican — would have immediate and far-reaching implications: The Republicans would be gifted a crucial extra vote just
