NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick has compared police officers to fugitive slave patrolmen after a Minnesota cop was acquitted of manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a black motorist. Kaepernick, who famously protested police brutality by refusing to stand during the national anthem last season, tweeted an image over the weekend of a police badge beside a fugitive slave patrol. The image read: ´You can´t ignore your history. Always remember who they are.´ He was responding to the news on Friday that Officer Jeronimo Yanez was not guilty of murdering 32-year-old Philando Castile at traffic stop in a St Paul suburb last year.
Comments: This pathetic, stupid racist is just doubling down. The more he keeps blathering the less chances he has of getting a job. No one in their right mind would want that racist loser.
Mediocre football player trying to stay famous by being controversial. It won´t work Kaepernick. No NFL team worth the name will take a chance on a wild card like you. You screwed up your career yourself. Now live with the results and enjoy the NFL season which you can watch on television.
Colin, want history? You should read some before making stupid remarks. Tens of thousands of white men died to end slavery in the U.S. Also Lincoln was a Republican. Someone with Colin´s attitude would be in prison or dead if not for the white couple that raised him.
This boorish fool just makes it worse every time he opens his stupid mouth. Can´t someone find a pail big enough to cover that afro hair and gigantic mouth and jam it down far enough to cover him to his shoulders? I wouldn´t hire him to cut grass.
This arrogantly ignorant piece of work is PR poison, and all 32 NFL teams know it. The NFL and 49ers failed to assertively manage the situation last seaon, thereby enraging/losing fans and now de facto ending Colin´s career to boot.
This irony passed so far over this twit´s head I would be willing to bet he never recognizes it.
Lecturing people on ignoring history is just too rich for words, coming from him. He has totally thrown his entire family to the curb, the little ingrate. I would say this is still all due to the influence of that nasty muslim girlfriend of his too.
The FBI launched a criminal probe against former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn two years after the retired Army general roiled the bureau’s leadership by intervening on behalf of a decorated counterterrorism agent who accused now-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe and other top officials of sexual discrimination, according to documents and interviews. Flynn’s intervention on behalf of Supervisory Special Agent Robyn Gritz was highly unusual, and included a letter in 2014 on his official Pentagon stationary, a public interview in 2015 supporting Gritz’s case and an offer to testify on her behalf. His offer put him as a hostile
Oh, the ghosts of Burlington College are back to haunt the Sanders. In 2016, reports about Sen. Bernie Sander’s (I-VT) wife, Jane, running the college into the ground, coupled with his tax plan, made for some good cannon fodder against the self-described democratic socialist’s financially reckless agenda during the 2016 primaries. Yet, what was missed was the fact that the FBI began peering through the financial records of the college, which had secured a $10 million loan to expand the campus along Lake Champlain. The local Catholic archdiocese had owned the property and had just settled on sexual abuse charges
The New York Daily News’ senior justice writer Shaun King blasted Christians Monday for perpetrating white supremacy for their support of President Donald Trump’s immigration halt. King put out a series of tweets accusing Christians who supported the halt of “fake faith” after the Supreme Court allowed Trump’s immigration ban to go into effect. (Snip) “To support a ban on immigrants & refugees, while calling yourself a Christian, is not faith, it’s white supremacy disguised as religion,” King tweeted.
A new wave of leaks targeting the Trump administration has actively endangered ongoing intelligence and military operations being conducted by the United States and its allies, sparking anger and concern inside and outside the White House, according to multiple conversations with senior U.S. officials intimately familiar with the situation. The classified leaks, which are being handed to sympathetic journalists by former Obama administration officials who left the government and by holdovers still serving in the Trump administration, have damaged a number of ongoing operations, ranging from American efforts to prevent Russian infiltration of the United States to Israeli efforts against
A Senate bill drafted by Republicans to replace Obamacare would leave 22 million people without insurance by 2026 compared to current law, a study by a nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says. The plan would also reduce the U.S. budget deficit by $321 billion over the next 10 years. Senate Republicans are several votes short to pass their bill. A similar proposal by the Republican-controlled House of Representatives would result in 23 million fewer Americans having health insurance 10 years from now compared to Obamacare. The House bill would lower the deficit by $119 billion, the CBO had estimated.
Sen. Mazie Hirono (D., Hawaii) called Justices Neil Gorsuch, Samuel Alito, and Clarence Thomas "the three horsemen of the apocalypse" on MSNBC Monday as she decried President Donald Trump´s executive order banning travel from six nations in the Middle East and North Africa. Hirono criticized the justices for wanting to lift the injunction against Trump´s executive order, which the other six justices agreed to review. Hirono called the order a "Muslim ban," despite the fact that it does not affect about 88 percent of the world´s Muslims. "This is like the three horsemen of the apocalypse, and they´re waiting for the fourth
The scandal surrounding CNN’s mishandling of a very fake news hit piece on President Donald Trump and his associates grows bigger on Sunday night as the network’s president Jeff Zucker and public relations team are refusing to comment to anyone — even to CNN media reporter Brian Stelter — about what happened. Stelter, in his Sunday evening newsletter named for the television program he hosts Reliable Sources, credited a Breitbart News investigation with forcing what he admitted is an embarrassing retraction for his employer CNN. “On Friday evening CNN.com fully retracted a story after questions were raised about the accuracy of the
William Binney, a former highly placed National Security Agency (NSA) official turned whistleblower, surmised it is “very likely, in fact, most probable” that the NSA has recordings of President Donald Trump’s phone conversations with former FBI Director James Comey. “It is very likely, in fact, most probable that NSA does have those tapes,” stated Binney. Binney continued: “I think you already have examples of it where you had conversations that President Trump had with the president of Mexico and also with Australia. All of those have been leaked. Also phone calls involving [former National Security Advisor Michael] Flynn and so
Donald Trump will tout surging U.S. exports of oil and natural gas during a week of events aimed at highlighting the country’s growing energy dominance. The president also plans to emphasize that after decades of relying on foreign energy supplies, the U.S. is on the brink of becoming a net exporter of oil, gas, coal and other energy resources. As with previous White House policy-themed weeks, such as a recent one focusing on infrastructure, the framing is designed to draw attention to Trump’s domestic priorities and away from more politically treacherous matters such as multiple investigations into Russian interference in the 2016
New York Senator Chuck Schumer was caught on camera busting a move at a local soiree thanks to New York City Deputy Mayor Richard Buery. The two politicos attended the Prospect Park Soiree in Brooklyn, NY, and it didn’t take long for Schumer to break out in a shuffle to an “It Takes Two” mashup. He does some awkward shoulder wiggling and clapping off-beat while other attendees laugh and dance along. Schumer was clad in what might very possibly the most “Dad” outfit ever, with a plaid shirt, khaki pants barely held up with a belt, and a baseball cap.
Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch issued a scathing dissent Monday to a Supreme Court decision turning away yet another gun rights case. On a busy morning of decisions, the court on Monday rejected a challenge out of California regarding the right to carry guns outside their homes, leaving in place a San Diego sheriff´s strict limits on issuing permits for concealed weapons. But Thomas, in a dissent joined by Gorsuch, countered that the case raises “important questions” – and warned that Second Amendment disputes aren’t getting the attention they deserve from the Supreme Court. “The Court’s decision … reflects a distressing
In a transparent attempt at blame-shifting, former Obama spokesman Josh Earnest has tried to place responsibility for President Obama’s failure to respond effectively to Russian meddling in the election . . . on Republicans. It’s been reported that Obama was paralyzed into inaction by fears of seeming to help Hillary during the campaign. Appearing on today’s Morning Joe, Earnest said: “The first time, [McConnell] didn’t have time to schedule time to talk about it. This is something that Republicans did not take seriously, and that did hamstring our efforts to respond to this as effectively as we would have liked.”
President Donald Trump broke a long standing White House tradition of hosting a dinner to celebrate Ramadan, a Muslim religious holiday. Hosting an Iftar dinner to mark the end of Ramadan fasting is a tradition that started in the Clinton years and was continued by Presidents Bush and Obama. Over the past two decades presidents have honored the holy day by hosting such a dinner. Thomas Jefferson was the first president noted in history to host Itfar in 1805 with an invitation to the dinner stating ´Dinner will be on the table precisely at sun-set – ´ the invitation read. ´The favour
A feminist magazine is calling on all white women to “do their part to prevent white supremacy” and abort their white babies. This is sick beyond words. The feminist Medusa Magazine reported: In a progressive society, it is often white families that stand in the way of equality and justice. Systemic white supremacy depends, first and foremost, on the white family unit. When white conquerors forcefully penetrated the indigenous, egalitarian homeland of the Native peoples of America, they were quick to replicate their white societies, initiating their parasitism by establishing white plantations, headed by white fathers, submissive white mothers, and,
An angry couple assaulted a Georgia fast food owner and her daughter outside a restaurant over a chicken and fries order — leaving the two women battered and authorities in disbelief. “I have a severely broken nose that requires surgery,” Quik Chik owner Jeanette Norris told the Daily News Sunday. “My daughter is scared. She was hit on her right side and has a black eye.” Norris was violently attacked at around 3 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant in Baxley after a couple complained about an order — prompting an argument that led suspect, Latasha Smith, to slap and punch
Have you ever had an old grand-uncle that you haven´t seen in ages and that you have almost completely forgotten about suddenly show up from out of nowhere? His return quickly reminds you why you originally found him so annoying since he is still obsessed about the same grudges upon which he still continues expounding in an aimless manner. In this case it is former liberal talk show host Phil Donahue who appeared with Brian Stelter on his CNN Reliable Sources show on June 25. Yes, it was the same old by the numbers predictable liberal Phil and, of course,
At last we know why Chicago’s homicide level is so out of control: Gangs, not police control the streets. The gangs know it; the police know it; and now, thanks to DNAinfo.com/Chicago, we know it. A week ago, Chicago street gangs held a huge party in a park, with a thousand people attending, some brandishing firearms, terrifying neighbors for hours. The police sent 25 squad cars, yet were outnumbered and unable to really do anything. (snip)Obviously, there is no political will to take back control of the streets. So everyone gets the message that gangs rule. No wonder the murder
The New York Post has an explosive report on the infamous “dossier” that tried to smear Donald Trump in order to swing the presidential election to Hillary Clinton. The source of the dossier is a Democratic Party opposition research firm called Fusion GPS: "The Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this month threatened to subpoena the firm, Fusion GPS, after it refused to answer questions and provide records to the panel identifying who financed the error-ridden dossier, which was circulated during the election and has sparked much of the Russia scandal now engulfing the White House. Fusion GPS was on the payroll of
I’ve been talking about the importance of protecting against voting-machine hacks since 2002. And now, finally, people are starting to take me seriously. The move to paperless voting started in response to the Florida “hanging chad” fiasco in the 2000 presidential election. Some people (like me) thought this was a mistake, but such concerns were often dismissed. Now, apparently, you can’t be paranoid enough. As Politico’s Bob King noted, while 10 years ago critics of paperless voting were called paranoid, now both parties are worried. It remains true that there is no actual evidence that a single vote was changed by hackers
The Obama adventures continue! Barack Obama and his family went rafting on the Ayung River in Bali on Monday amid their nine-day vacation to Indonesia, where the former president lived for several years as a child. Obama, wife Michelle and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, were invited to vacation in Indonesia by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who also asked the family to visit the presidential Bogor Palace in West Java during their trip, according to ABC News. Obama will also speak at an Indonesian Diaspora Congress in Jakarta on July 1. Obama moved to Indonesia in 1967 at age 6
There is a place for contempt in our public discourse. We should have contempt for a regime in North Korea that brutalized a young American student named Otto Warmbier. We should have contempt for a regime in Syria that uses poison gas to massacre innocent men, women and children. We should have contempt for Islamic State terrorists who behead Americans, burn people alive in cages and systematically rape Yazidi girls. But we should not have contempt for each other. Yet, we do. Our politics today is descending into a bitter spiral of contempt. And we saw the consequences in the
The Supreme Court said Monday that most of President Trump’s travel ban executive order can go into effect, delivering the first major victory to the new administration on perhaps his most controversial policy to date. Justices said the lower court rulings that blocked Mr. Trump’s policy were far too broad, and said the president can begin to enforce his ban against foreigners who don’t already have some ties to the U.S. That means the president can begin denying visas to visitors from six countries — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — who don’t already have family in the U.S., or some other prior connection such as
A U.S. warship struck by a container vessel in Japanese waters failed to respond to warning signals or take evasive action before a collision that killed seven of its crew, according to a report of the incident by the Philippine cargo ship´s captain. Multiple U.S. and Japanese investigations are under way into how the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the much larger ACX Crystal container ship collided in clear weather south of Tokyo Bay in the early hours of June 17. In the first detailed account from one of those directly involved, the cargo ship´s captain said the ACX Crystal had
The Obamas have been spotted taking a trip to the picturesque Balinese rice fields during their luxury vacation to Indonesia. Barack and Michelle Obama, along with their two daughters, flew into the popular tourist destination on Friday evening before heading straight for the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Ubud, where villas cost upwards of $2,500 a night. Today, the family too a walk through the lush, green Jatiluwih rice terrace, one of UNESCO World Heritages. They looked relaxed as Barack donned a blue polo shirt and Michelle kept it casual in a baseball cap and vest, with her jacket
