Alan Dershowitz: Trump ´should not be
subject to criminal prosecution´

Washington Examiner, by Pete Kasperowicz

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 6/19/2017 8:15:52 AM

Alan Dershowitz, professor emeritus at Harvard Law School, argued Monday that Trump should not face any criminal penalty just because he fired former FBI Director James Comey. "The president of the United States should not be subject to criminal prosecution for merely exercising his constitutional authority," he said on CNN. "In the absence of any statute to the contrary, the president has the authority to fire the director of the FBI, and the president has the power tell the director of the FBI who to investigate, who not to investigate," he added.

Thank you Professor Dershowitz.
Tell that to Robert Mueller who knows this, but doesn´t have the integrity to resign. That´s what a honorable lawyer would do. If Comey was Mueller´s protege, that speaks volumes about Mueller.

It´s not a criminal prosecution, it´s a political prosecution. As such, there is no need for facts, for eye witnesses, sworn testimony or innocent until proven guilty rules. All that is needed in a political prosecution are innuendos, rumors, smears, anonymous leaks and false testimony to convict because the Democrats act as judge and the MSM is the jury. Trump was found guilty last November 9th but this show trial continues because he is still president.

Prof. Dershowitz is consistent and intellectually honest. That is all we ask, whether he is politically on "our side" or not. Not so much for others on the Sunday talks yesterday.

(BTW: I caught clips of ABC This Week late last night. Newt Gingrich thoroughly cleaned Martha Raddatz´s clock! Her interrogation .. er, interview came across more like a segment on Tucker Carlson´s show, with Newt taking Tuckers role, and Raddatz jumping around like one of Tuckers liberal guests. Fun to watch. Of course ABC tried to follow with CA Dem Rep. Adam Schiff, but there was no way he could "save" Raddatz after Newt´s evisceration of her.)

As opposed to the greatest president of all time, Barack Hussein Obama, whose entire eight year reign was unconstitutional. He did what he pleased and continuously lied about it, damaged the country deliberately and was never called out by any of these people. In fact, he was praised to the high heavens for his "scandal-free" performance and his long list of "accomplishments."

The democrats are in the minority and the news media is doing its best to lie, smear and denigrate a real president to try to rescue that pathetic bunch of morons. I think we all need to help President Trump fix the problem, whatever it takes.

The Left believes that Trump is not the legitimate President of the United States.

Therefore, ANYTHING he does as President is "subject to criminal prosectution."

Now. WHY do they think Trump is not legitimate? Because they didn´t vote for him, of course!

How about a discussion of why the undocumented Barry Soetoro and his associated cabal of international gangsters, to include Sir Edmund, are not doing some serious time in a federal penitentiary this morning?

Actually, we have absolutely no knowledge that the President is being investigated for obstruction of justice. The only sources are pure Fake News sources, wallowing in hysterical lies on a daily basis.

I am surprised that folks here believe something because NYT and WashComPost says so, based on anonymous sources. They LIE, daily, with malice aforethought.

I think the learned Professor is correct, and I would hope that that fundamental legal truth will shine through this crazy time.

Perhaps I am too optimistic.

Dershowitz uses words VERY specifically. Trump is not subject to criminal prosecution for firing Comey. Since the DOJ, I believe, only does criminal investigations, there is NO BASIS for Mueller to make that a part of his investigation and Trump should so order the DOJ and Mueller that any aspect of the investigation that is heading in that direction should be ended IMMEDIATELY. If someone wants to make a case that the president cannot fire the Director of the FBI, let them do so. Comey made the case that Trump has the authority to do so and now Dershowitz is backing him up.

Further, I think Trump should be demanding that the evidence to support the assignment of a special investigator for Russian interference be presented for review. NOW!

Here´s a news flash, public opinion and liberal angst is NOT evidence.

Since there is NO evidence to support the assignment of a special investigator, then one should never have been assigned. Period! End!

Further still, the FBI should be required to make an evidential case to the DOJ for the continuance of the investigations. The WH should be part of that review as well. If no evidence exists, and there is little likelihood that any is forthcoming, THOSE investigations should be shut down. It is insane to let this insanity be continued.

But the Democrats didn’t cooperate fully with U.S. investigators. “The president and the entire administration were dealing with an unprecedented incidence of the weaponization” of Russian cyberactivity, Podesta told reporters after

The Democrats’ unprecedented losing streak continues. As Rich Lowry noted a couple of days after Donald Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama’s chief legacy is the total collapse of the modern Democratic Party. In the handful of special elections this year -- including in Georgia and South Carolina on Tuesday -- nothing has happened to change that. As a refresher on just how decimated is the modern Democratic Party, in addition to the U.S. Presidency, along with the U.S. House and Senate, Republicans hold the state offices in: 33 of 50 governorships- 30 of 45 (with Alabama’s currently vacant)
