Paul Krugman’s Orwellian
History of Obamacare

American Spectator, by David Catron

Original Article

Posted By:garnet, 6/19/2017 7:06:13 AM

It’s an article of faith among progressives that they are intellectually and morally superior to conservatives and pretty much everyone else. In fact, the need to see themselves as a cut above mere mortals is far more important to them than any ideology, policy position, or set of objective facts. This is why Barack Obama was able, after being elected President, to reverse his position on the inclusion of an individual mandate in health care “reform” without losing a single supporter. And it is why Paul Krugman maintains a huge progressive readership despite his penchant for treating them like fools.

Once someone has invested themselves in a narrative, it is difficult to break them from it. It would mean they had been played for fools. Since many progressive narratives include the notion that ´this is what brilliant people think, and you´re brilliant, too, aren´t you?´, it attracts people who are particularly susceptible to this kind of manipulation.

I don´t read Krugman with his political shape-shifting forays into nion reality.
Therefore, I don´t know what he says about Making America GreAT Again. He should, however, be fully supporting President Trump´s position on trade agreements. After all, Krugman´s ´Comparative Advantage´ research was honest in rejecting the notion that with free trade, every country would be better off, economically. And he won the Nobel prize in Economics for that reasearch.

Mr. Catron does an excellent job of dismantling Krugman, the economist turned propaganda artist. We common, ordinary non-healthcare experts saw Obamacare for what it was even before Nancy Pelosi carried the big wooden hammer, which was appropriately symbolic for the passage of this sham legislation. Obamacare was a way to control a huge giveaway of taxpayer money to the parasite class, nothing more. A side benefit was supposed to be huge profits to big insurance, which failed, along with the rest of the major promises made by the Obama admin. Well worth the read and will make you hate Obama all over again.

Krugman is an insane leftist propagandist, and has been for a very long time. Expecting to find that any of his narrative actually lines up with facts found in the real world is a vain hope.
I am amazed that folks continue to read and comment on and worry about the flows of propaganda BS that eminate from the NYT and their hired propagandists and their ilk at other propaganda outlets.

They are the enemy of America, and are always lying. It is no longer news that the NYT or one of their writer is a liar and a propagandist.

Are people just discovering this?

Immediately after Donald Trump´s Afghanistan speech, Lindsey Graham -- not always the president´s biggest fan -- praised the address and noted Trump was smart to leave the actual direction of day-to-day conduct of warfare to those trained to do it: the generals. He contrasted Donald with Obama, whom Graham called a "bad general." True enough, but it´s worse. Obama wasn´t just a bad general or even an atrocious one. Consciously and/or unconsciously, he was on the other side. Sound exaggerated? Then ask yourself this -- why would a man as intelligent as Barack Obama 1. telegraph his intentions and pull-out date to

Never Let an Opioid

When the Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis advised the President to declare a national emergency to deal with the overdose epidemic, HHS Secretary Tom Price wisely suggested that this step wouldn’t be particularly useful: “[T]he opioid crisis at this point can be addressed without the declaration of an emergency.” Price is, of course, a physician who understands the public health implications of opioid addiction. He is also a former congressman who knows what kind of mischief the federal government gets up to when “solving” a crisis. Price was in Congress when the “uninsured crisis” spawned Obamacare.

When filling in for Joe Pags on his eponymous nationally-syndicated radio show on Monday, I thought my analysis of the president’s comments two days earlier following the Charlottesville riots and the death of Heather Heyer was “fair and balanced”: The president didn’t say anything factually wrong but his not specifically calling out Nazis and the KKK represented the biggest political miscalculation of his presidency. Mr. Trump’s political opponents claim that he is a racist, or at least that he has too much sympathy for racism. I do not believe those claims to be true. Even though Trump was correct that there

Al Sharpton just may be right about the need to remove offensive statues from the American public way. I´d been somewhat torn on the idea of erasing history by tearing down statues, even Civil War Confederate statues, since destroying public imagery and iconography isn´t the kind of thing Americans do. Actually, it´s the kind of thing that ISIS does. But Sharpton, the noted race hustler, helped me see things in a different way.Usually, I don´t listen to him. But he was interviewed on the Charlie Rose program and talked compellingly about the need to remove statues of white men of the South who

Repealing ObamaCare Is The Key

For the last seven-plus years, Republicans ran on repealing and replacing ObamaCare. It was a winning platform, demonstrated by their gaining seats in Congress in almost every election since Obama was elected in 2008 — achieving a majority in the House in 2010, a majority in the Senate in 2014, and finally the White House in 2016. And with President Trump stating that he is anxious to sign a "repeal" or a "repeal and replace" bill into law, passage seemed like a sure thing. Yet so far the Senate has failed to pass a bill. But there is still a way

HOW DARE HE? President Donald J. Trump stood before journalists on Tuesday and said the unsayable: “I think there is blame on both sides.” Rather than denounce only the execrable white supremacists and swastika-wielding neo-Nazis who organized Saturday’s hate-o-rama in Charlottesville, Virginia, Trump observed that there was violence coming from the KKK side and from extreme Leftists who opposed them with force — not with tranquility, as did those at a peaceful vigil Wednesday night. The reaction to Trump’s comments was as swift as it was vitriolic: “We can truly say his words have absolutely emboldened white supremacists,” said CNN’s veteran anchor Anderson Cooper. The

Piers Morgan is at it again: Morgan is echoing an idea that has been advanced repeatedly in the last couple of days: To wit, that there is something particular about Nazism that makes it ineligible for protection under the Bill of Rights. This is flat-out wrong. And, more than that, it’s dangerous. Abhorrent and ugly as they invariably are, there simply is no exception to the First Amendment that exempts Nazis, white supremacists, KKK members, Soviet apologists, or anyone else who harbors disgraceful or illiberal views.

A government failure in Charlottesville

Saturday´s ugly events in Charlottesville culminated in a neo-Nazi protestor plowing his car into a crowd of his adversaries. He allegedly killed Heather Heyer, a young woman who had been excercising her right to free speech. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is rightly giving a high priority to the investigation, and President Trump has finally gotten around to issuing a proper condemnation of the white nationalists who brought their hate-fest to Charlottesville. Yet beyond this, Saturday´s events represent a serious failure of government. Neither the death of Heyer nor the general mayhem were inevitable. They could have been prevented if authorities there

There is nothing "right" about racism and hate. It’s a learned disease, and the best antidote is unity. This weekend’s events involving white supremacist groups are as disturbing and disgusting as they are heartbreaking. The attack was a stark reminder of the darkness of hate. We must come together, as we have before, to confront the issues that chip away at the very foundation of who we are and what we stand for as a country. Unfortunately, the people of South Carolina know this type of domestic terrorism all too well. Our response to the events in Charlottesville, Va., should mirror

If you are one of those hidebound individuals who believe that the distribution of taxpayer funds from the U.S. Treasury is a congressional prerogative clearly delineated in Article I of the Constitution, Judge Thomas C. Wheeler of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims has some bad news for you. Wheeler has handed down summary judgments ordering the government to pay two separate insurers a total of $266 million that Congress has declined to appropriate. He awarded Moda Health $214 million in February and, two weeks ago, he awarded $52 million to Molina Healthcare pursuant to Obamacare’s unfunded “risk corridor” program.
