Press reads too much into
Trump´s illegal aliens move

President Trump rescinded Barack Obama´s goofy Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, which allowed people to come to America illegally, give birth on American soil, and then claim legal status because, hey, their kid is an American, right? I get that Democrats need votes, but Congress -- not the president -- enacts laws. Some publications and bloggers believe that because he took action only against illegal alien parents that means he is cool with keeping illegal aliens who came here as kids under Obama´s equally goofy Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. I liked it better when we were a nation of laws, but

Obama´s DAPA amnesty was contrary to the provisions of the immigration laws passed by Congress and had to be rescinded. Those laws provide that USA citizen children cannot petition to confer immigration benefits upon their foreign parents until they are 21 years of age.

Obama´s DAPA amnesty if it went into force would have undermined laws passed by Congress, and would have greatly increased so-called "birth tourism" whereby foreigners come from all over the world to give birth to their children in the USA, which makes the child a US citizen. If the DAPA amnesty had gone into effect, all foreigners who came into the USA and gave birth to a child would be able to stay, and once they were given an immigration status would be able to access the US social welfare safety net and eventually become US voters.

The numbers of foreigners coming to the USA to give birth to children in this country could quickly spiral out of control, since besides the several hundred thousand illegal aliens who gain entry to the USA across the borderline each year, the USA allows tens of millions of foreigners to enter the USA as tourists, and others with temporary visas each year, hundreds of thousands of who do not obey the temporary visa and visa waiver time limits and stay illegally in the USA. Clearly Obama with his DAPA amnesty hoped to generate millions of future foreign born and socialist oriented Democrat voters.

No cameras, no live audio and

Washington Post, by Callum Borchers    Original Article

For the second time in four days, the White House barred television cameras from a media briefing Thursday and prohibited live audio broadcasts. Press secretary Sean Spicer also skipped the session, deploying his deputy, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, to answer questions instead. Off-camera briefings are becoming a regular occurrence in the Trump White House, especially on big news days. (Senate Republicans released their health-care plan Thursday, and the president finally said that he did not record conversations with former FBI director James B. Comey.) After Democrats announced they wanted nothing to do with the Obamacare reform efforts, the Democrat leadership and their water-carrying media counterparts cried foul because they feel they were not consulted on a current Senate bill to reform Obamacare. Go figure. The original (’09/’10) ObamaCare bill was 2,700 pages and most of the toxic takeover construct was intentionally and ambiguously deferred to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius where she added an initial 74,000 pages of regulatory and compliance rules and procedures. [Those HHS regulations now total 673,448+ pages and growing.]

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell released the draft for the Senate’s healthcare reform bill Thursday. The Senate’s bill features more generous tax credits for low-income and older Americans, a slower rollback of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion, and repeals most of Obamacare’s taxes. Additionally, the Senate healthcare bill proposes to: Repeal Obamacare’s individual and employer mandate and repeal most of its taxes except for the “Cadillac tax” on premium health care plans. Keep Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion until 2020. In 2021, Medicaid expansion would phase out the expansion over three years, ending in 2024. The plan would limit Medicaid spending with per capita caps, or states can decide

Democrats Talk Openly About

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is facing unprecedented pressure, as frustrated Democrats have begun — for the first time in seven years — to talk about replacing her after a series of disappointments at the ballot box. Pelosi was hailed as a driving force behind Democrats’ victory in 2006, when the party seized both houses of Congress and set the stage for victory in the 2008 presidential election. She became the first female Speaker of the House, and set about centralizing power in the Speaker’s office, ruling her caucus with unquestioned authority and promoting an unapologetically liberal agenda. However, Pelosi’s role

The little-known “Optional Practical Training” program has grown from 91,140 new foreign job-seekers in 2009 to 329,158 new job-seekers in 2016, according to data provided by the Department of Homeland Security. That is almost a four-fold increase in seven years — and the program is growing even larger in 2017. There is no cap on the OPT program, which quietly and semi-automatically gives work permits lasting up to three years when requested by foreign students who graduate from U.S. universities and colleges. Companies are not required to even interview Americans before hiring OPT graduates — and they get tax breaks for

President Donald Trump returned to Iowa on Wednesday, rallying with thousands of supporters at an arena in Cedar Rapids. “It’s always terrific to be able to leave that Washington swamp and spend time with the truly hardworking people,” he said. “We call them American patriots.” The mood was celebratory, particularly after Republicans won congressional special elections in Georgia and South Carolina. Trump congratulated the Republican victors — Karen Handel in Georgia, and Ralph Norman in South Carolina. “All we do is win, win, win,” he said, referring to the election results. “Even the worst of them say ‘That was a

Josef Joffe’s article in last Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal, “How Trump is Like Obama” castigates President Trump and former President Obama equally for the decline of the United States as a global leader. True to the headline, Joffe places Obama’s eight years in office alongside Trump’s five months (along with the things he’s said over the years) for undermining the American leadership the world has relied upon since World War II. WASHINGTON — The newest member of Congress drew boos from some in his own Republican caucus on Wednesday as he called for withholding lawmakers’ pay unless they approve a balanced budget. Rep. Greg Gianforte of Montana, who was sworn in Wednesday, immediately made waves as he pledged to “drain the swamp” in his initial speech to Congress, an echo of President Donald Trump’s campaign promise. The 56-year-old former software executive earned national notoriety last month after he body-slammed a reporter who had questioned him about the GOP health care bill. In his speech Wednesday to a crowded House chamber, Gianforte also called

Democrats scrambled to regroup on Wednesday after a disappointing special election defeat in Georgia, with lawmakers, activists and labor leaders speaking out in public and private to demand a more forceful economic message heading into the 2018 elections. Among Democrats in Washington, the setback in Georgia revived or deepened a host of existing grievances about the party, accentuating tensions between moderate lawmakers and liberal activists and prompting some Democrats to question the leadership and political strategy of Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader. But the overarching theme among Democrats was a sense of sharp urgency about crafting a positive agenda

Turns out…money can’t buy you love. Or a House seat in Georgia’s 6th District. Democrats pulled out all stops in their effort to show that the #Resistance isn’t just about marches and slogans and insulting the president, but also about flipping the House in 2018. They poured tens of millions of dollars into what became the most expensive House race ever, trying to elect 30-year-old nonentity Jon Ossoff to fill the seat of HHS head Tom Price. They cast the race as a referendum on Donald Trump, and a bellwether for 2018. Republicans will be elated with the outcome, and hopeful

Republican Karen Handel staved off a furious challenge from Democrat Jon Ossoff on Tuesday in a race to represent a suburban Atlanta seat in Congress, as the GOP and President Donald Trump avoided an embarrassing defeat in the most expensive U.S. House contest in history. A former Georgia secretary of state, Handel emphasized her experience and roots in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District to defeat Ossoff and keep a seat that’s long been held by Republicans in GOP hands. She becomes Georgia’s first female Republican member of the U.S. House.

Jon Ossoff was on a trajectory to defeat Karen Handel narrowly, poised to deliver a humiliating blow to the White House in a race billed as a referendum of Donald Trump’s early months in office. Then the Republican voters in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District unexpectedly showed up in droves. Pollsters say sky-high turnout drove Handel, the GOP nominee, to a nearly 4-point victory on Tuesday, despite most pre-election surveys showing Ossoff with a small-but-shrinking lead. Mathematically, a 4-point loss for a Democratic House candidate in a district that has traditionally elected Republicans by wide margins is an encouraging result for

Republican Karen Handel has defeated her upstart Democratic challenger in a Georgia runoff election. Handel, an experienced politician and former Secretary of State for Georgia, emerged on Tuesday night with a narrow win over 30-year-old Jon Ossoff. Incomplete returns show she is on track to receive about 53 per cent of the vote. Her narrow victory in Georgia´s 6th Congressional District allows Republicans a sigh of relief after the hotly-contested race, which is considered the most expensive in US House history. The special election was considered one of the first tests for Donald Trump´s controversial presidency, with voters given a chance to put another

The department’s investigation aims to determine whether Clinton and her closest aides violated government protocols by using her private server to receive, hold and transmit classified and top-secret government documents.
