Whole Foods: America’s

If you want to write about spiritually-motivated pseudoscience in America, you head to the Creation Museum in Kentucky.(Snip)But you don’t have to schlep all the way to Kentucky in order to visit America’s greatest shrine to pseudoscience. In fact, that shrine is a 15-minute trip away from most American urbanites. I’m talking, of course, about Whole Foods Market. From the probiotics aisle to the vaguely ridiculous Organic Integrity outreach effort (more on that later), Whole Foods has all the ingredients necessary to give Richard Dawkins nightmares. And if you want a sense of how weird, and how fraught, the relationship between

I would dumpster-dive before one cent of my grocery money would be spent at WF -- or "Whole Paycheck" as we call it at home.

If you want to read anything by a foul mouthed charlatan that worships only his interpretation of science and holds Bible believers in deep contempt, you don´t have to go to Kentucky. Just read anything by Michael Schulson. Are the hyperbolic claims of the "Organic" Food Industry news to anyone here?

The Organic Fad is everywhere. I shop at a "normal" supermarket that recently added all kinds of overpriced goods labeled Organic. They sell Normal parsley for 99 cents a bunch, and also Organic parsley for $1.59. I am not making that up.

The author equates the Creation Museum and Whole Foods on the same terms. A pseudo science. Sorry, Michael Schulson does not define things for me. Reading the article leads me to believe that he places a lot of importance on his own thinking.

After spending 72 hours looking specifically at the motives of those pushing almost identical paragraphs including the catchphrases: “holdovers”, “purging loyalists“, “unfettered access” and “Caroline Glick“; it comes as no surprise to hear the administration perceives the anti-McMasters crowd as having “jumped the shark”… “reached too far”, and “exposed their agenda” etc. Ironically HR McMaster appears to be safer than ever in his position as National Security Adviser not specifically because of anything he has done, but as an actual outcome of the piranha approach taken by his detractors. The severity of his opposition’s group-think actually exposed the common denominator.

It´s Friday, August 4th, 2017. And that makes it Barack Obama´s 56th birthday. Not President Barack Obama´s 56th birthday. Unsurprisingly, as when Michelle Obama recently spoke at the ESPYs, Obama´s birthday has led the media to lose its collective mind. The internet is clogged with why stories clarifying "why we all miss President Obama" and why etc. GQ magazine sees today as an opportunity to explain why Obama is "one of the best presidents we´ve ever seen." Still, my gripe is not about Obama´s record, but rather about the reporting on his birthday. Because it reflects our unhealthy fealty towards former public officials. After all,

Bug zappers buzz in the West Wing while flies zip around. The yellow carpet is worn, and it can sometimes be difficult to work in parts of the White House because it fills with fumes when Marine One lands or takes off on the lawn of America’s most famous home. Some White House aides claim to have seen rodents, and say they’re used to having maintenance professionals moving around their work space to do work on the air conditioning system, which hasn’t been overhauled in more than 20 years. Fixing it is top of the agenda for a building-wide renovation

"Stop Bickering, Get in Early, Make an Appointment." That´s how the WSJ summarizes the new White House protocol implemented by Trump´s new Chief of Staff, Gen. John Kelly, appointed just one week ago, and who has been tasked with what many believe is impossible: restoring order to the White House. It´s already working. According to an anecdote relayed by the journal, earlier this week, a small group of senior officials talked with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office about plans to take on Beijing over intellectual-property theft. When a side debate broke out between two top aides, the new White House

A sewage leak at Nashville International Airport may have contaminated about 200 Southwest Airlines passengers´ bags, the airline said in a statement Thursday. Airport officials told ABC News that the source of the problem was a single toilet in a women’s restroom inside the terminal, closely positioned over the baggage handling area. The sewage flowed through the bathroom floor, leaked into the bagging handling area and seeped into some bags that were checked in for Southwest’s early morning flights, according to the officials. The bags are currently being sanitized, and replacement bags are being offered on a case-by-case basis, the airline said. According

An internal Department of Justice memorandum obtained by Breitbart News Friday indicates Attorney General Jeff Sessions is trying to get to the bottom of the DOJ “slush fund” for left-wing groups he dismantled in June. President Trump this week provoked yet another media meltdown by endorsing the RAISE Act, an immigration reform bill sponsored by Senators Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and David Perdue (R-Ind.). If passed, the bill would cut legal immigration to the United States by up to 50 percent, and break the cycle of chain-migration by giving priority to immigrants with in-demand skills. Predictably, this has sparked outrage—but not just from the Left. Many economists and businessmen are likewise fretting. VATICAN CITY — Two close associates of Pope Francis have accused American Catholic ultraconservatives of making an alliance of “hate” with evangelical Christians to back President Trump, further alienating a group already out of the Vatican’s good graces. The authors, writing in a Vatican-vetted journal, singled out Stephen K. This is the second time in recent months the Trump administration has violated the federal rule barring all executive branch employees, including the president, from making public comments on leading economic indicators before the hour deadline is reached. The long-standing federal rule issued in 1985 says that the executive branch must wait for an hour - 9:30 a.m. in the case of the jobs report and most other major economic indicators.
