Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said Friday evening he wouldn´t be "surprised" if Robert Mueller, the special counsel appointed to oversee the federal Russia investigation, intervened to stop former FBI Director James Comey from publicly testifying on Capitol Hill. Grassley, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, made the remark on Twitter shortly after criticizing Comey´s decision to not testify before his own panel. Comey has agreed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is probing Russia´s election interference. (Tweet) The GOP chairman issued a statement earlier in the evening calling on Comey to consider his decision to not testify

That is the nice thing about a special counsel, he takes the wind out of all the blowhard´s sails. No more Chunkie and Naci demanding this or that.

The Hill’s media reporter Joe Concha took the liberal media to task Tuesday night, most notably CNN and MSNBC, for putting off the Manchester terror attack to squeeze in more time for Trump and Russia. “And look, there are some numbers around this that are just stunning. 105 minutes during the 7:00 P.M. hour,” he said during his appearance on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight. “This according to [a Media Research Center] study, was spent on Trump and Russia on CNN and MSNBC. Just 50 minutes [for the attack].” “It’s not only what journalism looks like in 2017, Tucker, it´s

In the post “Trump agonistes” last week I noted what I saw in the news stories that have created the consuming controversies of the past few weeks: hostile officials inside the executive branch of the government seeking the removal of Donald Trump from office. They are powerful. They lack any qualms about abusing their positions. They are determined. And they have the invaluable assistance of the Democrats’ mainstream media adjunct. With malicious intent, “current officials” inside the intelligence agencies with access to top secret information, for example, have passed it on under the cloak of anonymity to their friends in

Paris– President Emmanuel Macron wants a sixth extension of France’s state of emergency since the Paris attacks of November 2015, his prime minister said Wednesday, adding that the terror threat “remains very high”. The new president, elected on May 7, also wants legislation to boost the powers of the security forces, Edouard Philippe said, two days after the Manchester concert suicide bombing that claimed 22 lives. “France and the United Kingdom are fighting the same enemy,” Philippe said after a meeting of his defence council. “The terrorist threat remains, in Europe, in our two countries, at a very high level.”

Melania Trump proved herself to be just as unpredictable as her famous husband on Wednesday afternoon, with the First Lady photographed holding President Trump´s hand twice in public. The infrequently affectionate couple was taking a tour of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City when a photographer managed to get a picture of the two staring up at Michelangelo´s famed painted ceiling while holdings hands. The President and First Lady were then back at it again moments later when it was time for the family photo, in which the two stood next to Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner for a picture

Britain took the unprecedented step of deploying hundreds of soldiers to patrol the streets of London today as the country woke up to a heightened terror threat following the Manchester suicide bombing. Around 1,000 heavily-armed military personnel from the Royal Artillery, Paratroop and Irish Guards regiments are outside the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and other UK landmarks after Theresa May warned that a fresh terror attack may be ´imminent´. The political Left struggled on Tuesday to find terminology sufficiently jarring to express their rage and disdain for President Trump´s just-released budget. That´s the price we pay for living in an age of political hyperbole. Liberal journalists, activists and politicians denoucned the president´s proposed cuts as "brutal!" "huge!" "shocking!" and "gutting the public sector!" House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi inventively suggested Trump was "assaulting the food we eat," which, conjuring up a mental image of the Cookie Monster, is a new way of looking at the 45th president. What´s actually remarkable about Trump´s budget is that its cuts are modest

The Trump administration on Tuesday unveiled a budget that would shift $54 billion from nondefense to defense spending for fiscal year 2018. That´s roughly $19 billion more than former President Barack Obama´s last plan. McCain added that Trump´s budget proposal

Statistically speaking, you are probably taking up room that should go to someone else.
