Paul Ryan: ´I’ve never seen anything

Politico, by Louis Nelson

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that he’s “never seen anything like” the leaked recording on which House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy can be heard saying, supposedly jokingly, that he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin was paying then-GOP candidate Donald Trump and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher. In a story datelined from Kiev, Ukraine, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that McCarthy could be heard on a recording of a meeting from last summer saying “there’s two people I think Putin pays: Rohrabacher and Trump” and punctuating his remark amid laughter from his GOP colleagues by adding “swear to God.” Ryan quickly

So McCarthy was joking but turns out the real jokester is McMuffin, allegedly.

Kevin McCarthy is one of the stupidest people I have ever seen swimming in the Washington cesspool. He´s right up there with Nancy Pelosi, Patty Murray, Susan Collins. Dumber than a box of rocks does not begin to describe his lack of intelligence. Does the Califorina GOP require a lobotomy before running for office from that state? No wonder the CA GOP is extinct. They´re Neanderthals

Looks like Ryan & McCarthy get on the subpoena calendar for the Russian SnipeHunt. Hope they can indict them on obstruction or some other ´ethics violation´ to get them out of the way. Knife cuts both ways boys.

I´ve never seen anything like the Congressional Republicans since Trump won the nomination and the election.

I have never been a Trumpista. I voted for him and am willing to allow him time despite what I consider unforced errors and missteps. I support the fact that America chose him.

The Congressional Republicans are now dead to me. The whole bunch is disgraceful connivers.

There’s been a lot of reporting in the past week-plus about potential White House shake-ups when President Trump returns from his foreign trip, and one of those reports today says Reince Priebus might be out soon. Some reports have said the White House is planning a “war room” of sorts to start fighting back more aggressively, and The Washington Post is reporting today that the president has “expressed frustration — both publicly and privately — with his communications team.” But the WaPo report also says Priebus may be leaving the White House: Underscoring the uncertainty of what lies ahead, some

Former House Speaker John Boehner said he thinks the vast majority of Donald Trump’s presidency has been a “complete disaster” during a recent energy conference in Houston, Texas. Boehner, who resigned from his Ohio House seat in October 2015, applauded Trump’s approach to foreign policy — praising his decision to take a strong stand against the Islamic State — but was highly critical of the progress he has made in other areas thus far. “Everything else he’s done [in office] has been a complete disaster,” he said Wednesday, according to energy publication Rigzone. “He’s still learning how to be president.” Boehner and Trump

In a move that undermines claims that he is controlled by the Kremlin, President Donald Trump will keep in place sanctions that the Obama administration imposed against Russia as punishment for Moscow’s alleged interference in the U.S. presidential election. The Trump administration is currently conducting a full review its Russia policy, but the president will continue the sanctions, top White House economic advisor Gary Cohn said Friday. The U.S. enacted the measures a month before Trump took office, and administration critics have fretted he would lift the sanctions in an effort to draw Washington closer to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But who would know that, given the reactions of the region’s leaders to President Trump’s recent trip? “A turning point,” said Saudi Arabia’s King Salman. “The reassertion of American leadership in the Middle East,” said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “Capable of doing the impossible,” said Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi about Trump’s impact. Although Kushner has not been accused of any wrongdoing, the news appears to vindicate Bannon’s concerns that Kushner’s meetings would be a major distraction for the Trump White House. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) Article 5 mutual defense pact, stating that an attack on one is attack on all, lies at the heart of the alliance’s deterrence power against enemies hostile to the West, namely Russia. On Thursday, President Trump left the question of America’s long-standing commitment to Article 5 open to speculation and doubt. In a speech delivered at a so-called ceremony of “remembrance” and “resolve,” Trump refused to explicitly reassert the U.S. commitment to the mutual defense of NATO partners. Earth is likely to reach more dangerous levels of warming even sooner if the U.S. retreats from its pledge to cut carbon dioxide pollution, scientists said. As of late, Hillary has taken to marketing herself as the leader of the anti-Trump resistance, Tweeting about her defeat, haranguing Trump in public appearances and “persisting” despite her loss. It’s clear from Clinton’s Twitter feed, paid speeches, and comments that she wants to lead the mostly female opposition to Trump’s policy agenda. It’s pile-on time for America’s commercial airlines. The contempt people hold for them has long been severe, but following a raft of highly publicized incidents, resentment has hit a fever pitch. This was followed by several more airlines-behaving-badly controversies, up to and including the death of Simon, a giant rabbit who perished after a London-to-Chicago United flight. Over and over we are reminded about the hellishness that is commercial flying. Enabled by cellphone cameras and the catalyst of social media, even the most

Aside from some interesting vignettes, the program is left-wing, anti-Trump propaganda that firmly establishes the network’s political bias. Bell also serves up some historical distortions of the sort spoonfed to undergraduates on politically-correct campuses, such as the claim that Islam has always been present in the U.S. “Islam has always been part of the American fabric,” one Muslim man in Detroit tells Bell at an anti-Trump event. “A lot of people think that Islam is from a foreign country,
