We Are Watching A Slow-Motion Coup D’etat
The Federalist, by James Downton

Original Article

It’s nearly incontrovertible that a slow-motion coup d’etat is now taking place. Since November 9, 2016, forces within the U.S. government, media, and partisan opposition have aligned to overthrow the Electoral College winner, Donald Trump. To achieve this they have undermined the institutions of the Fourth Estate, the bureaucratic apparatus of the U.S. government, and the very nature of a contentious yet affable two-party political system. Unlike the coup d’etat that sees a military or popular figure lead a minority resistance or majority force into power over the legitimate government, this coup d’etat is leaderless and exposes some of the

FTA: "This article outlines the mechanisms, institutions, and nature of this coup d’etat; not in defense of President Donald Trump — who has proven himself bereft of the temperament of a successful president — but in defense of the institutions of our republic that are now not just threatened, but may very well be on the verge of collapse."

That paragraph was really unnecessary. The article is informative and terrifying. But that statement about Trump is not pertinent and only illustrates that Trump hasn´t even been allowed to be successful because of the very things listed in this article. His temperament has absolutely nothing to with it.

FTA: "James Downton is the pen name of a Federalist contributor who is contractually prohibited from writing publicly about politics under his real name."

It makes you wonder if Downton is a member of the establishment, or a Democrat, and hides under his pen name.

Should this happen, they will see a fast-moving retaliation by 63 million pizzed off Deplorable President Trump supporters that will rock their socks and make the 1861 conflict look like a school yard spat!!

We the People put Donald J. Trump in office to drain the swamp and save this nation from the entrenched nest of vipers and swamp creatures that sought to destroy her for their own means. We will not sit idly by while they seek to undo the results of a legal and proper election!!

But it´s really a high speed train wreck of failure. The impact of this witch hunt and fishing expedition and the constant efforts to destroy Trump will only serve to increase the resolve and support of all those who voted for him and support him now to come out again in his defense to reelect him with a bigger landslide. The dimwits are only operating on pure emotion and have not thought it through to what the eventual results will be. But go ahead, make my day, punk.

I posted on another thread, but it bears repeating:

This is loser talk, designed to depress us into inaction. Don´t fall for it.

These are the same people that told us Hillary was ahead by 12 points a week before she lost.

The Russia story is a fake. Fake, fake, fake. Let them dig all day.

Comey said under oath he was not influenced or pressured.

The journalist that reported this memo admitted that he had never seen the actual document. Think about that. We´re getting all worked up about a story that lacks even the most basic level of fact checking.

Relax. Trump is not going anywhere.

These morons think that we the people will just let them topple a fairly elected president?

Thats grounds for open rebellion, and the military will not come to the aid of the Congress Swamp Citters. The anger of 52,000,000 voters would not end well for them.

At the end of the day, all three branches for our Federal Government have no white night protectors waiting in the wings.

Think of it this way, O´Zero armed and crated criminal brown shirts to enforce the swamp´s demands. In numbers that about 500,000 swamp critter protectors. Lets see what happens when you take 500,000 critters against 52,000,000 We The People Trump supporters.

And we are not buying into the fabricated scandals and Fake News. Congress has been warned.

You are now getting a glimpse of how Obie´s new world order will work if it is allowed to proceed. Now you understand what he spent five weeks doing in Tahiti? Soros is pleased.

The federal government and the forces that surround and control it have gone rogue. These forces, unless we stop it, will take us over the cliff - with no return to a free society.

This was the highest fear our founding fathers had when mapping out the Constitution.

Yes, it is an attempted coup America style. But the coup still has a propaganda arm still spewing its ideology - the msm.

I am pleased to hear Coup D´etat language being used of late but that´s something many of us deep in the deplorable dungeon have saying for a long time. It started as a Soviet Coup but lives on under progressive, liberal even democrat labels.

The "watching now part" is the reaction on the part of the statists to the fact that enough of us have finally noticed the fulfilment of Orwellian forethought and the extent to which the Coup has already succeeded. We manifested as the Tea Party in 2010 and we elected Trump to shake up both parties who differ only in the speed of travel on the road to statism.

They thought we´d finish boiling in the pot before noticing we were getting cooked.

It doesn´t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out what is going on. Tuesday night Nov 8,2016, President Trump and his supporters were celebrating their victory and making plans to Make America Great Again. The demoncraps were planning their strategy to destroy him. It consists of opposing everything he does. If PT proposed a law making it illegal to drown puppies in a stream the demoncraps would accuse him of being a bigot who favors cats. And starting dumpster fires to hamstring him. No one could possible be stupid enough, not even Chuckie Schumer, to believe Our President will be removed via impeachment. The plan is to always have a smoke screen to distract, delay, and destroy his plans. He tries to protect us from terrorists and left wing judges rule it´s illegal. I´d like to see President Trump emulate President Lincoln and close some newspapers and lock up their editors and reporters. Throw in some judges. We don´t need freedom of the press. We need freedom from the press.

Those seriously considering taking up arms might consider helping form a new party as a Constitutional alternative to another Civil War. Armed conflict with the bloodshed (much of it ours) that will result must be a last resort - only when all Constitutional options have been exhausted.

Try a new party that will shepherd an Article V Convention of States first. Remember that a CW will not only destroy our Constitutional republic from within, but external enemies are salivating at their chance to pounce.

There is a whole planet full of people who would love to see the American experiment come to a crashing end, just as we cheered the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Posted elsewhere: The liberal media overplayed its hand. Interest in the Comey/Russian news cycle is ebbing very, very quickly. People are becoming numb over rumors and gossip. With a DOJ investigation, no one is going to speak without a subpoena and lawyer. Without hard information, the media has no choice but to rely on gossip and rumor furthering the spiral downward. Since no one thinks the Russians affected their vote and everyone thought Comey should be fired, people are confused. Even dire hard TRUMP haters know the president can fire a cabinet level person, has exclusive authority to negotiate with foreign powers including the Russians and is the final authority on all secret and classified information. Of course hate goes a long way but eventually people tire of it. As Churchill said, you can depend on the United States to do the right thing after it has exhausted all other possibilities.

A coup d’etat can only succeed when a government is taken by surprise and all legal processes are held in abeyance. TRUMP knows enemies. His indignation of a FBI and DOJ investigation is a conceals a trap. All the lawyers know that a president can fire any cabinet member, negotiate with any government and classify or declassify any information. The investigations will end up putting an end to the leaks which is exactly what TRUMP wants and the coup d’etat leaders are going to make it happen. It’s going to be the Bay of Pigs for the liberal media. If he loses a few staffers who failed to mention some phone calls or contacts on their applications, he simply fires them and moves on. Game over. TRUMP wins again.

The move to paperless voting started in response to the Florida “hanging chad” fiasco in the 2000 presidential election. Some people (like me) thought this was a mistake, but such concerns were often dismissed. Now, apparently, you can’t be paranoid enough. As Politico’s Bob King noted, while 10 years ago critics of paperless voting were called paranoid, now both parties are worried.
