The Republican National Committee (RNC) on Friday announced it raised $41.5 million in the first three months of 2017, its strongest-ever total for the first quarter following a presidential race. “Our record-setting fundraising pace has been fueled by grassroots enthusiasm for President Trump and the Republican Party,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel said in a statement. “The RNC is in a strong position to make an impact in key races in 2017 and 2018 as we plan to take a leading role in preserving our congressional majorities and prepare to reelect President Trump in 2020.” The RNC said it brought
Ronna, I agree about Trump, not so certain it was the RNC. And given the RNC´s refusal to listen to their base, "Repeal" no replace, Build/Fund the Wall, eliminate the unconstitutional depts, no H1Bs, no mooslime refugees, &etc., they may very well see the money dry up, and get sent directly to constitutionalist candidates, and not the RNC.
During the early 2000´s I believed every word the RNC told me. Then I grew up. The latest begging strip diatribe was like the one received prior to the primary that only wanted to destroy Trump. I wrote all over the 4-page crapfest to leave me alone and shut up forever. Not one more dime then or ever. If there is a way I can vote with my purse directly to Mr. Trump, let me know. There has to be a way to show appreciation for all he has done in the first hundred or so days. More than any other Republican has EVER done or promised.
It´s getting too hard to tell if the earnest Republican candidate soliciting your money is just another swamp dwelling RINO, that, like a chameleon, will change it´s stripes after its election. I wholeheartedly agree with #1 & #2. The RNC doles out money to really questionable candidates, and then you look at the candidates Ryan & McConnell push, and you just save your money for the real thing!
I don´t know if it´s the RNC or Mark Hensch is at fault for this article.
I don´t mind the announcement. It´s almost a ´good thing´; but the language used is insulting.
Record-setting HAUL ???
I read this to say: ´The RNC suckered the public into ponying up a boat load of money they can waist.´
I don´t see the; ´We appreciate your sacrifice to the Trump doctrine and RNC cause.´
These kind of articles make me uncomfortable - For Instance: After giving money to the guy at the gas station who said he was trying to get back to his pregnant wife - and then witness him walk into the next door liquor store and come out with a bottle of cheap wine.
It seems like they gloat about the numbers and don´t care that you are eating that can of soup that´s been in the cupboard for months, instead of going out to a restaurant. They don´t understand that it´s YOUR MONEY they´re spending.
They better start spending large amounts of it in GA.06. Democrats are already smearing Handle. They have to get Asshat´s Pajama Boy mug on TV as much as possible and start defining him as an aide to Hank "Guam is going to tip over" Johnson.
I´m confused...I thought Professor Harold Hill was chairman of the RNC with the scam its been running since McCain and Dubya almost got us "Comprehensive Immigration Reform", followed by McConnell, Boehner and Ryan´s great "Obamacare" fiasco.
Salon.com declared Tuesday as "Trump-free Tuesday" to its readers because "American politics have been consumed by one man for almost two years." "Trump-free Tuesday" includes the left-leaning publication to not mention the president in any capacity nor post his photo. "American politics and culture and media, and damn near everything else, have been consumed by one man for almost two years," writes Salon´s editorial team. "You know the person we’re talking about. ´Consumed´ is a metaphor in this case, but sometimes it feels almost literal, as if our country and its public discourse had been eaten by alien invaders or
“Never Trump” writer John Podhoretz, who once threw a hissy fit at Breitbart News over an article that was 100 percent factually correct, came to embattled CNN’s defense on Monday evening. Even though Podhoretz admitted that CNN published a “fake news” story that forced three of its employees to resign on Monday evening, he said yelling “Fake News” at the network is “unfair.” (Tweets) On Monday, three CNN employees—the author of the “fake news” piece and his two editors—resigned after Breitbart News’ Matt Boyle’s investigative report on Friday shredded a CNN story, based on a single anonymous source, that falsely
Project Veritas dropped a new bombshell undercover video on Tuesday. The video shows CNN Producer John Bonifield admitting the Trump-Russia story is B.S. but that CNN continues to push the false narrative for ‘ratings’. (Photo) O’Keefe teased his Twitter followers on Monday by sending out a cryptic tweet saying, “Independence Day is approaching, but this year the fireworks come early.” The video is the latest setback for CNN after a reckless weekend report on the Trump administration. President Trump responded to the O’Keefe video on Tuesday morning: (Tweets)
The secret-taping squad at Project Veritas are making sure CNN has a bad public-relations week. On the heels of three journalists resigning over an unsubstantiated online report on Russia and Trump, CNN Health producer John Bonifield is caught on tape admitting that CNN is producing news for liberals, and that talking about “cutesy little ethics” is “adorable” when cable news is a “business.” PV says the conversations were taped in June. Liberal journalists usually respond to PV videos in two ways. First, they charge the videos are "deceptively edited," so somehow what the target says doesn´t mean anything; and second,
The White House on Monday formally sent the nomination of Christopher Wray to be FBI director to the Senate. The Justice Department released a statement from Wray, who said he was “honored and humbled” by the nomination and looks forward to his confirmation by the Senate. “From my earliest days working with agents as a line prosecutor to my time working with them at the Department of Justice in the aftermath of 9/11, I have been inspired by the men and women of the FBI – inspired by their professionalism, integrity, courage, and sacrifice for the public.” Wray said. “If
The al-Qaeda chapter that hacked an Atlanta man to death two years ago said in a new "code of conduct" for jihadists that killing American nationals in target countries is a "foremost priority" for the terror group. Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent was formally launched in 2014 after al-Qaeda meticulously brought various militant groups under its umbrella to concentrate on operations in Burma, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. They were only designated a terrorist organization by the United States in June 2016, a full 16 months after the murder of Avijit Roy. In February 2015, Bangladeshi-American secularist blogger Roy was hacked
Al Gore is ‘an idiot’ who only made his vast fortune just because he happened to get lucky by obsessing about climate change. Possibly we’d all guessed this already. Now it has been confirmed by an expert in the field of finance – Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway vice chairman and fellow investment billionaire Charlie Munger. Munger, who was speaking at an informal investors’ Q & A – recorded here – clearly does not rate Gore’s intelligence or investment acumen. “Al Gore has come into you fellas business, Munger said. “He has made $3 or $400 million in your business. And
President Trump and high-level administration officials are using a lighter touch to help the Republican healthcare bill through the Senate as compared with the House, putting tremendous pressure on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as skeptical GOP lawmakers threaten to defect on a key procedural vote this week. "Sink or swim, this bill rests on the shoulders of leadership," one GOP Senate aide told the Washington Examiner. "It is their product with minimal White House involvement." The White House has publicly backed the bill and expressed optimism that an Obamacare overhaul could advance before lawmakers leave for the July 4 recess
Manhattan´s District Attorney has slammed new Republican legislation that ´plays into the hands of terrorists´ by allowing anyone with a firearm licence to carry concealed weapons in other states- even in those with stricter licensing requirements. Cy Vance said that it was a ´dangerous ´ bill that is ´supported I am sure by ISIS.´ He made the comments yesterday while speaking to John Catsimatidis on his 970 AM radio show about the GOP plan. He said that security would be seriously compromised by the legislation because some states - like New York - have stricter licencing laws than others yet
The Assad regime in Syria is preparing for another chemical weapons attack on its own people, the White House warned in an ominous statement on Monday night. The attack will be similar to one in April which prompted the US to launch missile strikes on a military base, the statement said, and will likely harm ´innocent children and civilians´. ´The United States has identified potential preparations for another chemical weapons attack by the Assad regime that would likely result in the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children. The activities are similar to preparations the regime made before its April
Senate Republicans´ plan to repeal and replace Obamacare has put Medicaid in the spotlight, thanks to proposals including a move to let states impose work requirements on low-income recipients. Medicaid "went way above the poverty line to many able-bodied Americans," White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told ABC News program "This Week" on Sunday. "If they are able-bodied and they want to work, then they´ll have employer-sponsored benefits like you and I do." Yet most Medicaid recipients who can work already are working even without such a requirement, according to data from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, which notes that
The Better Care Reconciliation Act of 2017, the Senate Republican replacement to the Affordable Care Act, is estimated to reduce the deficit by $321 billion from 2017 to 2026, according to the Congressional Budget Office´s scoring of the legislation. In comparison to the Obamacare replacement, the American Health Care Act, passed by the House, this bill would save an additional $202 billion over this time period. During this span, the budget office also projects that spending will be reduced by $1 trillion and government revenues will be reduced by $701 billion. The legislation´s greatest savings come from reducing spending on
President Donald Trump broke a long standing White House tradition of hosting a dinner to celebrate Ramadan, a Muslim religious holiday. Hosting an Iftar dinner to mark the end of Ramadan fasting is a tradition that started in the Clinton years and was continued by Presidents Bush and Obama. Over the past two decades presidents have honored the holy day by hosting such a dinner. Thomas Jefferson was the first president noted in history to host Itfar in 1805 with an invitation to the dinner stating ´Dinner will be on the table precisely at sun-set – ´ the invitation read. ´The favour
An angry couple assaulted a Georgia fast food owner and her daughter outside a restaurant over a chicken and fries order — leaving the two women battered and authorities in disbelief. “I have a severely broken nose that requires surgery,” Quik Chik owner Jeanette Norris told the Daily News Sunday. “My daughter is scared. She was hit on her right side and has a black eye.” Norris was violently attacked at around 3 p.m. Thursday at the restaurant in Baxley after a couple complained about an order — prompting an argument that led suspect, Latasha Smith, to slap and punch
Actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner was shredded by social media users over the weekend after he called for an “all out war” to resist President Donald Trump. Writing on Twitter Sunday, the All in the Family star mentioned a Fox News report about the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion with Russia during the 2016 election. “When Fox says that DT colluding with the enemy is not a crime, the fight to save Democracy is now an all out war. US-Stay strong. #Treason,” he wrote. (Tweet) Reiner’s remarks were slammed by several social media users, many of them suggesting that the actor’s tweet
I’ve been talking about the importance of protecting against voting-machine hacks since 2002. And now, finally, people are starting to take me seriously. The move to paperless voting started in response to the Florida “hanging chad” fiasco in the 2000 presidential election. Some people (like me) thought this was a mistake, but such concerns were often dismissed. Now, apparently, you can’t be paranoid enough. As Politico’s Bob King noted, while 10 years ago critics of paperless voting were called paranoid, now both parties are worried. It remains true that there is no actual evidence that a single vote was changed by hackers
Have you ever had an old grand-uncle that you haven´t seen in ages and that you have almost completely forgotten about suddenly show up from out of nowhere? His return quickly reminds you why you originally found him so annoying since he is still obsessed about the same grudges upon which he still continues expounding in an aimless manner. In this case it is former liberal talk show host Phil Donahue who appeared with Brian Stelter on his CNN Reliable Sources show on June 25. Yes, it was the same old by the numbers predictable liberal Phil and, of course,
The Obama adventures continue! Barack Obama and his family went rafting on the Ayung River in Bali on Monday amid their nine-day vacation to Indonesia, where the former president lived for several years as a child. Obama, wife Michelle and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, were invited to vacation in Indonesia by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who also asked the family to visit the presidential Bogor Palace in West Java during their trip, according to ABC News. Obama will also speak at an Indonesian Diaspora Congress in Jakarta on July 1. Obama moved to Indonesia in 1967 at age 6
Ohio Gov. John Kasich came out against the Senate Republican health care bill Sunday, saying both Republicans and Democrats need to do a better job at helping poor people. “Both parties ought to be worried about poor people, because I don’t think either party particularly cares about helping poor people,” Mr. Kasich, who lost the Republican Party’s presidential nomination to President Trump last year, told CNN’s Dana Bash. “You look at the rates of poverty, the problems in this country,” he continued. “We have not designed a system to get people work. Everything we’re talking about now — getting people
A U.S. warship struck by a container vessel in Japanese waters failed to respond to warning signals or take evasive action before a collision that killed seven of its crew, according to a report of the incident by the Philippine cargo ship´s captain. Multiple U.S. and Japanese investigations are under way into how the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the much larger ACX Crystal container ship collided in clear weather south of Tokyo Bay in the early hours of June 17. In the first detailed account from one of those directly involved, the cargo ship´s captain said the ACX Crystal had
The New York Daily News’ senior justice writer Shaun King blasted Christians Monday for perpetrating white supremacy for their support of President Donald Trump’s immigration halt. King put out a series of tweets accusing Christians who supported the halt of “fake faith” after the Supreme Court allowed Trump’s immigration ban to go into effect. (Snip) “To support a ban on immigrants & refugees, while calling yourself a Christian, is not faith, it’s white supremacy disguised as religion,” King tweeted.
The Supreme Court said Monday that most of President Trump’s travel ban executive order can go into effect, delivering the first major victory to the new administration on perhaps his most controversial policy to date. Justices said the lower court rulings that blocked Mr. Trump’s policy were far too broad, and said the president can begin to enforce his ban against foreigners who don’t already have some ties to the U.S. That means the president can begin denying visas to visitors from six countries — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — who don’t already have family in the U.S., or some other prior connection such as
Police are on the hunt for a couple who were caught on video camera beating a restaurant owner and her 15-year-old daughter because they weren´t happy with their meals. The incident happened at the Qwik Chick takeout stand next to U.S. Highway 1 in Baxley, Georgia just after 3pm on Thursday, reported WTOC. The couple, identified as Nathaniel Eric Smith and Latasha M. Smith, got into an altercation with the food store´s owner, Jeanette Norris, because they said their chicken was cold and they didn´t have enough fries. Norris refunded their money but she said they went ´berserk´ anyway and
The Obamas have been spotted taking a trip to the picturesque Balinese rice fields during their luxury vacation to Indonesia. Barack and Michelle Obama, along with their two daughters, flew into the popular tourist destination on Friday evening before heading straight for the Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Ubud, where villas cost upwards of $2,500 a night. Today, the family too a walk through the lush, green Jatiluwih rice terrace, one of UNESCO World Heritages. They looked relaxed as Barack donned a blue polo shirt and Michelle kept it casual in a baseball cap and vest, with her jacket
