Facebook Unveils Sinister Project
to Read Your Thoughts (Seriously)

Heat Street, by Kieran Corcoran

Elite Facebook scientists have unveiled their latest project: building technology to literally read your thoughts. A group of experts, led by the former boss of the Pentagon’s shadowy DARPA military research division, have hired 60 developers to bring the tech to life. At a conference in San Jose, covered by The Financial Times, Regina Dugan described how they hoped to monitor the movement of minerals moving through individual brain cells to read thoughts. (Snip) Dugan claimed that the social network’s only interest in accessing its users’ thoughts is to save them time typing or speaking so they can “get all

Comments:
Absolutely nothing would surprise me anymore related to things like this. It sounds like some weird tin foil hat conspiracy but with I just don´t see that it is inconceivable. A few weeks ago I saw a segment on 60 minutes that is related. I never watch that show and by chance was flipping around and saw the story about how iPhones are programmed addict the user. Link below. Considering the behavior of those who are permanently glued to their iPhones I don´t see that as being too far fetched. It really is a frightening brave new world.

The tech world was mystified when Microsoft purchased Skype, a company which had never turned a profit or had any room to grow, for BILLIONS of dollars. For what? To cannibalize the client into a new, glorified version of Microsoft Lync?

Then, it came out (I believe in the Snowden affair, if memory serves) that the software had been modified to act as an active and passive listening device for the NSA. FOR the NSA, mind you, not BY them. While it will (probably) never be proven, the ludicrous sum for that purchase was likely paid by you and me, through national security appropriations.

I have little doubt that something similar is going on here a surveillance technology research expenditure being disguised as Convenient New Innovation for Your Home or Office Use!

But, the data-processing capabilities of our vaunted cyber security apparatus at Fort Meade and the Utah Data Center are already totally outstripped by the sheer amount of data being collected on the American people. This makes them nearly useless for discerning national security threats, but pretty excellent at storing the communications of every American. Just in case, for some reason, you might want to pick out some individual and peel his life apart like an onion.

Once the Panopticon can read our thoughts, they´re gonna have to buy ten more like the Utah Data Center. BOHICA. Our surveillance state overlords are going to make you and me purchase our own chains, and at a steep price.

Not surprised. I think there has been much study into mob-mentality behavior and the left has been directing the lemmings, starting with ´Big Education´ (but now in grade schooling as well)and ´Big (and Social) Media´. They may not be attempting to read our thoughts so much as checking on the progress of how well they can direct them.

Considering the absolute addiction that the youth of this country have with their iPhones, and people of all ages posting their every thought on Facebook, I´d say they have already succeeded. They´ll gather a lot of useless trash, but no really intelligent thoughts!

But the national security folks have a pretty decent track record of co-opting/bullying people like him, and Gates, and Schmidt, et al. to further various technology initiatives. Sound like DARPA is using Facebook resources to develop a real form of mind reading. Can´t be good. Sounds rather sinister to me.

Breitbart California, by Joel B. Pollak    Original Article

A growing number of conservative commentators are calling on President Donald Trump to use the California National Guard to escort author Ann Coulter onto the University of California, Berkeley campus when she speaks next week. Though California Governor Jerry Brown commands the California National Guard, President Trump has the power to federalize it — just as President Dwight D. Eisenhower federalized the Arkansas National Guard in 1957 to integrate public schools. (The same Arkansas troops who had once blocked black students then escorted the students to school.) Coulter was invited by the Berkeley College Republicans to speak on April 27. When Berkeley

The black supremacist who murdered four white men in Fresno, Calif. this week laughed during his police interview about the slayings, Fresno’s police chief says. “When he spoke about the shootings, he did so in a very callous manner,” Chief Jerry Dyer said in a press conference Wednesday of Kori Ali Muhammad, the 39-year-old killer. “In fact, multiple times he laughed as he described what transpired.” Muhammad killed three white men in downtown Fresno on Tuesday. His first victim that day was Zackary Randalls. Muhammad shot the 34-year-old while he was sitting in his work truck. Muhammad then shot Mark

Donald Trump said immigrants who were granted amnesty through Barack Obama’s 2012 immigration executive action Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals should “rest easy” about his immigration policies. On the trail, Trump promised to “immediately terminate” DACA, which protects hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who came to the country as children from deportation, but he changed his tune in an interview with the Associated Press Friday when he said the administration is “not after the dreamers.” “We are after the criminals,” Trump said. “That is our policy.” His comment Friday differs vastly from what he said on the campaign trail.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has made good on his threat to cut Justice Department grants to so-called “sanctuary cities” that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. On Friday his subordinates sent letters to nine such jurisdictions demanding proof of compliance. The letters, sent to the relevant authorities in New York City, Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Miami, Milwaukee, and the “sanctuary state” of California, makes clear that Byrne Grants, a major program by which the federal Department of Justice funds local law enforcement, will be withheld if these jurisdictions do not do their part to enforce federal immigration

Veteran journalists at CBS are reportedly quite upset with network host Gayle King after she enjoyed a recent yacht vacation with Barack and Michelle Obama in Tahiti. Former President Barack Obama will make his first public appearance Monday, hosting an event on civic engagement on his old stomping grounds at the University of Chicago. The event, open to the public but with limited tickets, will bring together younger leaders and students “for a conversation on community organizing and civic engagement.” It won’t be an explicitly political event. As an Illinois state senator, Obama once represented the neighborhood where the campus is located and also was a law professor at the university. He last stopped by the campus in 2016, using an event at the law school to make a
