Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called on the United States and other allies to “stay focused” in the fight against Islamic State Monday, saying he sees a new willingness in the Trump administration to take a more direct role in the fight not just to contain but to defeat the terror group. “We can eliminate this terrorist organization,” Mr. al-Abadi told a Washington audience just hours after meeting with President Trump at the White House ahead of a major summit this week of officials from the 68-nation coalition battling the group also known as ISIS. “I think this administration wants

One of the biggest reasons I voted for Trump with another being his promise to select a Supreme Court Justice from the list provided by the Federalist Society.

WASHINGTON -- It didn´t take long for the viral video of a United Airlines passenger being forcibly dragged off an overbooked plane to make it to Capitol Hill. D.C. If you did, you saw that Bill O’Reilly and Brit Hume take aim at CNN’s Brooke Baldwin for speaking to a Syrian refugee a few times last week. President Trump’s national security adviser on Sunday signaled a shift in the administration’s stance toward Syria, which now includes regime change, as Russia and Iran recommit to supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad after the U.S. strike early Friday on a Syrian air base that is believed to have launched a chemical attack on civilians last week. National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said the Trump administration has two goals in Syria: defeating the Islamic State group and removing Mr. Assad from power. However, he added that Mr. Trump is seeking a global response that would include U.S. allies as well as Russia

The former Olympian reportedly underwent the below-the-belt surgery in January of this year. A rep for Jenner had no comment. North Korea has vowed to defend itself using a “powerful force of arms” — should the US keep sending ships toward the Korean Peninsula, reports say. The Hermit Kingdom’s foreign ministry warned early Tuesday local time that it was ready for “war” in the event of further military moves like the one seen Sunday, when a US Navy strike group was sent to the region as a show of force against the communist nation. North Korean officials, who were quoted by state news agency KCNA, said the act displayed “reckless moves for invading” and was ultimately proof that tensions between

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — After wrapping up a dinner of steak, potatoes, sole fish and gelato, President Donald Trump delivered a message to Chinese President Xi Jinping: The United States was unleashing 59 missiles into a Syrian airbase. Thursday was a split-screen of polished pageantry in public and frantic moves behind closed doors as the United States unleashed air missiles on Syria and the president strutted about his resort, enjoying the glow of cameras and the prestige of having China´s president to his crown jewel while also making what appeared his most consequential decision as president. President Trump basked in the glow Saturday of a week so successful that it even won praise from aides to former President Barack Obama. Trump had plenty of success to reflect upon as he donned a white polo shirt and red cap to enjoy five hours at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. He had had a successful two-day meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The Senate voted Friday to approve his first Supreme Court nominee. And he had punished Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad for the cruel use of sarin gas against his own people by ordering a

President Trump launched the first major military strike of his presidency after heavy consultation with his national security adviser, H.R. McMaster. The cruise missile attack on Syria capped off a week in which McMaster appeared to consolidate his power by ousting chief White House counselor Stephen Bannon from the National Security Council, though the balance of power inside the Trump administration remains fluid. The Army lieutenant general showed a steady hand turning Trump´s rhetoric Syria into action, something the president’s team has struggled to accomplish on other fronts. The moves comes as concerns grow about North Korea´s advancing weapons program. Earlier this month North Korea tested a liquid-fueled Scud missile which only traveled a fraction of its range. The Carl Vinson strike group, which includes an aircraft carrier, will make its way from Singapore toward the Korean peninsula, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity

This is the moment a screaming man was knocked out and forcibly dragged off an overbooked United flight by cops while fellow passengers yelled in distress on Sunday night. Three officers were filmed yanking the man from his seat in Chicago, bashing his head against an arm rest and dragging the seemingly unconscious man down the aisle as he bled from the mouth. The man - who claimed to be a doctor and said he needed to see patients the next morning - was one of four randomly selected by United to leave the 5.40pm flight from O´Hare to Louisville.

A United Airlines passenger didn’t get to “fly the friendly skies” when he was forcibly ejected from his overbooked flight, according to reports. The unidentified man was dragged off kicking and screaming when he refused to give up his seat — and was recorded by passengers outraged at his treatment. The man, who some social media users said is a doctor, was yanked from his seat at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport before the flight to Louisville, Ky. A short video posted by Audra Bridges at 7:30 p.m. Sunday shows uniformed security personnel pulling the screaming man in front of horrified passengers.

More armed forces, 5,000 or 6,000, would attract more regional fighters to destroy ISIL. “You need a safe haven quickly, so people can regroup inside of Syria. United CEO Oscar Munoz doubled down in a letter to employees on Monday evening, claiming that employees "followed established procedures" when removing a passenger from a plane because it was overbooked, and calling the passenger "disruptive and belligerent." United had to ask several passengers who had already boarded a flight from Chicago to Louisville on Sunday evening to leave, as the airline had sold too many tickets. One man refused to leave, and United called airport officials, who forcibly removed him from the plane. Video circulated of the incident earlier in the day, showing the man being dragged from the plane

President Trump did more than retaliate for Bashar al-Assad’s illegal and inhumane use of nerve agents against civilians when he ordered the launch of 59 Tomahawk missiles to destroy al-Shayrat airbase in Syria. He also detonated a few shibboleths of his predecessor’s foreign policy. First is the idea that President Obama’s 2013 deal to remove Assad’s weapons of mass destruction was a success. Susan Rice and John Kerry have lauded the agreement with Russia to supervise the extraction and destruction of Assad’s weapons stockpiles as recently as the last year. But Assad’s brazen attack on civilians in Idlib Province exposed

Harvard will change the final lyric to its almost two-century old alma mater because it´s no longer ´inclusive´, according to university officials. The ´Fair Harvard´ anthem has been used at university commencements and other major events since it was written in 1836, but now the university is changing its tune. Plans were announced Wednesday by the Presidential Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging, an initiative launched in September by Harvard President Drew Faust, for a competition to change the anthem´s last line ´till the stock of the Puritans die´ in order to reflect inclusiveness. ´Puritan´ is a reference to the English Protestants
