FBI Director James Comey, in an extraordinary House hearing meant to clear the air on a host of allegations relating to the 2016 campaign, confirmed publicly for the first time Monday that the bureau is probing Russian meddling in the race including possible “links” to the Trump team – while disputing the president’s claim that his predecessor wiretapped him. The FBI director was called to testify alongside National Security Agency Director Michael Rogers for a public session of the House intelligence committee. Comey’s testimony could serve to fuel tensions with the White House, which maintains there’s no evidence of Trump-Russia
Comments: I just don´t trust anything about this guy. The grandstanding was so bad by the little crapweasel Adam Schiff and the rest of the Democrats that I put it on mute. It was just too irritating to listen to. This entire hearing is a sham, a joke and utter waste of time.
#2 hits it on the head. No one has come forward to categorically, in one word, deny that 0bama received/utilized intelligence illegally obtained by organizations outside the jurisdiction of US law and US courts. They are pulling a series Clintonisms (depends on what is is) on us. I would like to see Trey Gowdy cross examine Comey.
Of course Obama didn´t wiretap Trump but the FBI probably did. If not, where did the leaks come from? It was from somewhere in the Executive Branch. Of course Comey won´t discuss an ongoing case but was more than happy to divulge info about their investigation into Russian meddling. This Director needs to be replaced.
Totally agree with calls for stinky to testify. No wonder he sashayed off to Tahiti -- clearly not just for the bathhouses.
Comey can only keep his finger in the dyke for so long. Sooner or later -- likely later, what with the chickenhearted two-timing repubs and downright wicked dems fouling the swamp even as it drains -- but sooner or later it will all come out.
Comey´s picture has squirreled itself around in my brain for weeks and I have finally realized why he looks so oily! Remember ´´the Breck Girl--John Edwards´´ from Kerry´s POTUS trial balloon? Comey/Edwards. Each one has a particular smirk indicating that his poo doesn´t stink.
Comey isn’t really saying anything did or didn’t happen. “…I have no evidence”.
And other things bring his response that he cannot talk about them. The Dems are pushing him to make or confirm their ugly allegations about Trump and/or his people - thus they just keep on getting these allegations into the record.
They are working very hard to make a case based upon news reports and their own speculation, conjecture and masses of innuendo. They are trying PDJT&Co in a one-sided presentation.
Of course the Rebublicans will never ask but the first question of Comey should be why? What evidence was presented to convince Comey and the Obabmi administration FBI to begin an investigation of Trump? And the second is, Mr. Comey, the FBI was so skilled that it didn´t detect a breach on Hitlery´s totally unsecured sever. How can we have faith that the FBI can detect a breach of sophisticated goobernment computers being hacked by the most sophisticated Russian hackers?
One question that should be asked is: if the current investigation is to determine Russian involvement in the 2016 election, why is the focus only on the Trump campaign and not on all campaigns, including Hillary´s or Steins. If the investigation is to determine Russian activity, why is it limited to claimed Russian-Trump collusion. Also, Comey never answered what causes an investigation to be initiated and what the reason was for an investigation of "Russia-Trump collusion" when the former DNI, Clapper said there was no evidence of such collusion.
Nope Barry did not put on a black onesie and ski mask, slither through the duct work at Trump tower and twist a few wires together. No sir, didn´t happen. Would it make sense for the FBI to have been in the know? I thought their sandbox was domestic. Comey can deny all he wants and it doesn´t mean squat.
Just because Mr. Comey said that he has no knowledge that President Trump or his team were the subjects of electronic monitoring and surveillance during the run up to the election, after the election, and even now, does not mean that such activities did not go on and are still not going on. As Comey also confirmed that the FBI is currently conducting a criminal investigation targeting members of the Trump team involving their suspected collusion with the Russians to upend the election to Trump´s benefit.
Any of those undercover tactics that were accomplished during the Obama presidency had to have been done in Obama´s name as he was the President upon whose desk the responsibility buck always stops. You would have to either be completely politically partisan or completely stupid to believe that the FBI under the control of Loretta Lynch was conducting a politically charged criminal investigation involving President Elect Trump without President Obama being briefed by Lynch, giving his thumbs up, and being made aware of what was going on. Obviously they thought that Hillary Clinton would win the election and that everything got to do with such an investigation would be buried for National Security" purposes. However it did not work out that way.
As far as the British intelligence Service cooperation with the CIA and the FBI, that connection and the proceeds of such a connection will always be denied by all parties involved.
This testimony really gets my dander up! Comey says "I can´t answer that..." on any question that implicates Trump in any way, and yet is free to damn Trump by innuendo every chance he gets. The questioning tries to cast doubt on Tillerson and Bannon. Anything to try to disable the Trump Administration.
It is disgusting and frustrating!! It only inspires me to be as active as possible in 2018 to elect even more Republicans!!
By refusing to investigate fully the leaks to the media shows that Comey is hiding things from Congress and the media. He is oily and up to his neck in political considerations over doing his job. I have no confidence in him or these "probes" by Congress.
this hearing is an outrage! the Dims are getting away with making all sorts of unsubstantiated claims against Flynn and other Trump surrogates.. throwing everything out and then asking the ever pompous Comey to say... I can´t comment.
The GOP on the committee have not done themselves any favors today and has hurt the Republican party tremendously. It will be just like the Hillary emails. Now they are implying that the Trump administration is behind the leaks!! You can´t make this up.
There is something very wrong with Comey. His actions are way to mixed and confusing. Little bits of information, half-truths, non-denials released first seeming to support one side then the other. Almost like he is trolling for the best offer, or reminding both sides he can either make or break them. I would not be surprised if eventually both sides deide they can finally work together on something, the elimination of Comey as a factor.
I watched a good bit of the hearing this morning. Comey is a snake. I don´t trust him as far as I can spit. I hope he realizes that PresidentTrump is going to hand them a fight, any fight and they will lose. President Trump fights and doesn´t lose. He must fire Comey and continue to drain the swamp.
And Chuckie Schumer wants an apology from the President. Hold your breath Chuckie and wait for it to happen.
Drudge and Alex Jones both reported yesterday they have the list of people "tapped". Alex is on it, many different businesses of Trump, and Michael Savage called Jerome Corsi and Michael on list also.... How do they ignore this????? Is this the "deny, deny, deny" strategy from that old movie??
Republican congressional investigators expect a potential “smoking gun” establishing that the Obama administration spied on the Trump transition team, and possibly the president-elect himself, will be produced to the House Intelligence Committee this week, a source told Fox News. Classified intelligence showing incidental collection of Trump team communications, purportedly seen by committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and described by him in vague terms at a bombshell Wednesday afternoon news conference, came from multiple sources, Capitol Hill sources told Fox News. The intelligence corroborated information about surveillance of the Trump team that was known to Nunes, sources said, even before President

Mrs Cochran remains in hospital in the UK where she is being treated for a broken leg and rib. They were the first people hit when
Open door immigration policies put in place by the Obama administration were cited a cause for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old student inside Maryland high school by two illegals, according to the head of the Border Patrol union. Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, cited the former administration´s "catch and release" program for letting the two illegals charged in the rape into the United States. In Senate testimony, he said, "Had we done our job that 14-year-old girl would never have been raped. Period. That´s all there is to it." Two illegal immigrants have been charged
Trump presidential transition officials had their communications monitored and “unmasked” by the intelligence community, the chairman of the House intelligence committee said Wednesday, offering the first major piece of evidence of possible illegal activity by Obama officials against Donald Trump as president-elect. Rep. Devin Nunes, California Republican, said Mr. Trump’s own communications might have been monitored. All of the information appears to have been scooped up legally and incidentally, meaning the Trump officials weren’t the targets. They may have been gathered by foreign intelligence and then shared with the U.S. under existing agreements, one lawmaker said. But at some point
Congressman Peter King (R-N.Y.) called the revelation that President Trump´s transition team was identified during incidental surveillance activity "extremely significant." King said the fact that Trump´s name appeared in the reports obtained by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) was one of a few violations that were committed. Trump nor his associates were being wiretapped, King said. Instead the surveillance focused on foreign individuals who referenced them. "Any time your [American´s] name comes up, it´s supposed to be masked. Reports were written with names of these people and details," King said, adding that the information was then spread around
The race to build the world’s tallest skyscraper has reached new heights - and taken a turn in direction. Designs for ‘The Big Bend’, a slender tower that would transform Manhattan’s skyline have been unveiled. Described as the ‘longest building in the world’, the project´s concept drawings reveal a skyscraper reaching an apex then curving back down. And featuring an elevator system that can travel in curves, horizontally and in loops. In a bid to work around the challenges of New York’s zoning laws, design studio Oiio has imagined an innovative concept to straddle across Billionnaire’s Row on 57th Street.
Senator John McCain said on MSNBC tonight that there needs to be a special committee for the Russia investigation because Congress does not presently have the “credibility to handle this alone.” McCain told Greta Van Susteren that the big split today between Devin Nunes and Adam Schiff shows a “chasm” between the two leaders of the House Intelligence Committee. He added that there is no substantiation to what either of them He said what’s been happening today is somewhat “bizarre” and said that he thinks it’s time for a special committee because “no longer does the Congress have credibility to handle this
Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, said on Wednesday that the Senate parliamentarian has told him that it may be possible for Republicans to push harder on repealing Obamacare´s regulations than the current House bill, which contradicts the assertion by House leadership that the legislation goes after Obamacare as aggressively as possible under Senate rules. "What I understood her to be saying is that there´s no reason why an Obamacare repeal bill necessarily could not have provisions repealing the health insurance regulations," Lee said in an interview with the Washington Examiner, relating a conversation with parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough about reconciliation he had on
In a last-minute bid to woo conservatives ahead of a high-stakes vote on Thursday on repealing and replacing Obamacare, House leaders are considering gutting more Obamacare regulations. (Snip) Previously, House leaders have argued that the regulations could not be nixed, because doing so would blow up the bill in the Senate, where Republicans will have to pass the measure under restrictive rules to enable it to clear with a simple majority. But a House leadership aide told the Washington Examiner that on Wednesday, Republicans received new information from the Senate, indicating that axing the regulations wouldn´t automatically doom the bill from
No, Sebastian Gorka is not a goose-stepping Nazi. (Snip) The personal attacks aimed at Gorka and Michael Anton, both key national-security aides to President Trump, aren’t the only false stories in the left’s smear campaign against these two. They have been painted in outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post, Foreign Policy, Politico and the Atlantic as Islamophobic hardliners hellbent on dragging us into more Mideast wars. But that bears little resemblance to their writing, which the Trump haters haven’t bothered to explore in any depth. A closer reading of their voluminous writings reveals a cold-eyed realism about global affairs
People who are HIV positive have long been required to disclose this status before engaging in unprotected sexual intercourse. Considering the life-threatening condition caused by HIV, it stands to reason that potential partners have a right to know, since the disease is easily passed through sexual contact. (Snip) Because of "the stigma." To save the hurt feelings of the dishonest partner: In a test of shifting attitudes about HIV, a group of state lawmakers has proposed that it no longer be a felony for someone to knowingly expose others to the disease by engaging in unprotected sex and not telling the

Sears is on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. All department stores have faced increased competition from Amazon.com, but Sears is out of cash and about to fail. Why? Because the CEO, Eddie Lampert, is a guy with nutty ideas who treated Sears like a dotcom, conveniently forgetting that it has physical stores that need maintaining. (snip) It´s closing hundreds of stores. Others are in shambles, with leaking ceilings and broken escalators. In some, employees hang bedsheets to shield shoppers from sections that stand empty. Before Sears and Kmart, Lampert had no experience in retail. The big plan he hoped would transform Sears
A group of Senate Democrats is beginning to explore trying to extract concessions from Republicans in return for allowing Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch to be confirmed, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. The lawmakers worry that Gorsuch could be confirmed whether Democrats try to block him or not — and Democrats would be left with nothing to show for it. That would be a bitter pill after the GOP blocked Merrick Garland for nearly a year. The deal Democrats would be most likely to pursue, the sources said, would be to allow confirmation of Gorsuch in exchange for a
British Lawmaker Lord Digby Jones does not believe the religion of the London attacker is pertinent, The Washington Post reports. Jones comments come in the wake of a tweet by Donald Trump Jr. criticizing London Mayor Sadiq Khan for once telling citizens that terrorist attacks are “part and parcel” part of living in a big city. Some British lawmakers drew offense from the tweet, saying Trump was attacking the mayor in the midst of a terrorist situation. “You’re safer in London than you’ve ever been,” Jones declared. He continued, “If this turns out to be an act of Islamic terrorism,
Armed Police have opened fire and shot an intruder inside the grounds of the Houses of Parliament amid reports a car drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge. Several shots were fired at around 2.35pm moments after a loud bang was heard near the grounds of Parliament. Three bodies were visible on the floor outside Parliament and the Palace was placed on an immediate lock down. Others were seen lying in the road on Westminster Bridge, where reports suggest around six people were knocked down by a car. Prime Minister Theresa May is said to have been bundled into a car by a plain-clothes police
Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, is so New Jersey that her Secret Service codename is “Blueberry,” but what many may not know, is her grandfather allegedly belonged to the Mafia in the 80s. Jimmy “The Brute” DiNatale, Conway’s late grandfather, allegedly had mob ties and was a “significant criminal associate" of Nicodemo “Little Nicky” Scarfo – the heir to the Bruno crime family based in Philadelphia, according to a memorial service page and law enforcement officials who spoke to the Philly Voice. The page lists Kellyanne Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Conway as his granddaughter and describes DiNatale as “a reputed Bruno-Scarfo
As Republicans hail Judge Neil Gorsuch as an "outstanding" Supreme Court nominee, Democrats are lining up against him for partisan reasons. "My view is very simple," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) told a news conference on Tuesday. "And that is, there is a cloud now hanging over the head of the president, and while that´s happening, to have a lifetime appointment made by this president seems unseemly, and there ought to be delay." (Video) (Earlier Tuesday, in remarks on the Senate floor, Schumer said it would be "unseemly" to move forward so fast with confirming Gorsuch while the "gray
Washington -- Communications of Donald Trump´s transition officials - possibly including the incoming president himself - may have been scooped up in legal surveillance but then improperly distributed throughout the intelligence community, the chairman of the House intelligence committee said Wednesday. In an extraordinary set of statements to reporters, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes said the intercepted communications do not appear to be related to the ongoing FBI investigation into Trump associates´ contacts with Russia or any criminal warrants. Nunes, who served on Trump´s transition team, said he believes the intelligence collections were done legally but that identities of Trump officials and the
President Trump is facing the first crucial test of his presidency — repealing and replacing Obamacare — and he needs to apply the negotiating chops and deal-making skills he bragged about in his bestselling book, “The Art of the Deal,” to fixing our broken health-care system. And given his low approval ratings, he needs a win. Dealing with the Obamacare mess has been the core focus of the Republican party for the past 7 years — not to mention a major campaign promise that helped propel Donald Trump to the White House. So it’s imperative that the president seal the deal and
Democrats plan to filibuster Neil Gorsuch’s nomination for the Supreme Court, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) said Thursday. Speaking on the Senate floor Thursday morning, Schumer said Gorsuch -- who is three days into his confirmation hearings with the Senate Judiciary Committee -- will need 60 votes to be confirmed. Currently, the Senate has 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats. “After careful deliberation, I have concluded that I cannot support judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court,” he said. “His nomination will have a cloture vote. He will have to earn 60 votes for confirmation. My vote will
Alphonse Maddin worked as a truck driver for TransAm Trucking. Like a lot of Americans, he did the kind of hard work that puts food on the table, and pays the bills and the taxes. The work that people like Maddin do every day may not receive lots of media attention, but our economy will not function without it. Such workers do not ask for a lot in return, just to be treated fairly and with dignity under our laws. Unfortunately, even that modest expectation has too often gone unfulfilled in recent years. The Supreme Court has increasingly come down
David Brock, founder of the left-leaning Media Matters for America non-profit and a longtime Hillary Clinton ally, suffered a heart attack on Tuesday, according to a press release. "David Brock suffered a heart attack while working in the Washington DC office early Tuesday," the release said on Wednesday. It added that he was quickly treated and stabilized. "He was quickly transported to a local hospital, received prompt medical treatment, and we are looking forward to a swift recovery," the release said. Brock is a former conservative journalist who now heads a network of liberal nonprofits aimed at combating Republicans
WASHINGTON -- Former President Obama surfaced this morning to defend the Affordable Care Act as House Republicans tried to wrangle last-minute votes for today´s promised vote on the American Health Care Act. "Ultimately, after a century of talk, decades of trying, and a year of bipartisan debate, our generation was the one that succeeded" in passing healthcare reform, Obama declared in a statement issued by his office. "We finally declared that in America, healthcare is not a privilege for a few, but a right for everybody." "Since the law passed, the pace of healthcare inflation has slowed dramatically," he added. "Prices are
