WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — President Trump spent seven hours this weekend at Trump International Golf Club here, where a crisp breeze and cloudless skies beckoned golf lovers to the manicured 27-hole course.Did he play any golf?“Very little,” Mr. Trump told reporters traveling with him on Sunday on Air Force One back to Washington, recounting what he said had been a busy weekend of meetings to sell the health care bill and strategize about the nuclear threat from North Korea. The White House refused to provide any details.
I actually don´t care whether a President plays golf, runs, chops wood, reads, or watches tv in their free time. I care whether the president is doing his job. Trump seems to be working longer hours than most presidents. His Cabinet appointees seem to be very busy too. I don´t remember reading about who President Obama golfed with hardly any of the time. Also, the problem with President Obama was his general laziness (at least that is how he appeared to be) and also with specific instances when he golfed like when he decided to go golfing while the country was reeling from a beheading of an American journalist. It was unbecoming.
They certainly didn´t care that Smidgen spent almost a year of his presidency (18 holes, plus travel, etc takes up the better part of a day) playing golf or the fact that he played a lot of that golf with a homosexual pedophile.
Not to mention that, if he did play golf, Trump also held meetings in the evenings afterward. Smidgen most likely went back to wherever he was staying and had a choom party.
Ya know, if I were the President, a lot of things would happen WITHOUT the dang press being anywhere near...they obviously don´t like him and are out to get him, so put them in the basement and ignore them...those of us who voted for President Trump, know he is working to accomplish what we put him in office to do. Drain the swamp.
The press is smarting about his (and now Tillerson’s) having cut back on his surveillance by them. No fodder for their criticism and gossip. Oh, me! What to do? Write speculative stuff, laced with innuendo like “shrouds time at his clubs in mystery”.
To make it worse, most agree with him. We don’t need fake media coverage of every breath he takes, every move he makes.
Noted, #2 and #9. It would appear someone wants the vaunted New York Times to again become the newspaper of record. Here´s a news flash from OTHER than the NYT: Presidential golf hasn´t been news since Eisenhower played it.
Bumbama used 32 golf carts for his foursome at MidPacific Golf Club where he played at least 16 times during the last eight years in Kailua. Also the Club was closed to all members and a full staff was on hand to "serve" the world´s greatest fraudster. Put that in your Times and smoke it!!
If I still had hair, I´d be tearing it out over at arrogance of "journalettes" like this one. You are not OWED a moment by moment accounting of our President´s time. You come across like one of those possessive and abusive husbands whose wives finally realize they don´t have to explain their whereabouts every five minutes.
Makes for a laugh when you think about the kenyan formerly squatting in our White House having a set of golf clubs, perhaps Ping or Callahan. When thinking about POTUS Trump having a set of golf clubs, we´re talking about some with 27 holes, some with 36 holes, etc. What a difference an election makes.
It appears to me the the drive-by´s seem to think that they are entitled to know and what Trump is doing every minute of the day. It´s gotten to the point that if he takes time to take a leak or a dump, the drive-by´s go berserk. "Oh my gosh! Where is he? No one´s seen or hear from he for the past 15 minutes!" President Trump should just ignore them and go on with the countries business. Which that so for, he´s been doing a great job.
PARIS -- French voters shut out the political mainstream from the presidency for the first time in modern history, and on Monday found themselves being courted for the runoff election between populist Marine Le Pen and centrist Emmanuel Macron.French politicians on the moderate left and right, including the Socialist and Republicans party losers in Sunday´s vote, immediately urged voters to block Le Pen´s path to power in the May 7 contest.Voters narrowed the presidential field from 11 to two. Both that vote and the May 7 runoff are widely seen as a litmus test for the populist wave that
WASHINGTON — The day before he upended the 2016 election, James B. Comey, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, summoned agents and lawyers to his conference room. They had been debating all day, and it was time for a decision. Mr. Comey’s plan was to tell Congress that the F.B.I. had received new evidence and was reopening its investigation into Hillary Clinton, the presidential front-runner. The move would violate the policies of an agency that does not reveal its investigations or do anything that may influence an election. But Mr. Comey had declared the case closed, and he believed
Before there was Trump, there was O’Reilly’s populism infused with a New York sensibility. Dear Reader (I said “reader.” This will not be the venue for Caitlyn Jenner’s nude debut.), Bill O’Reilly is leaving Fox, and I can’t say I’ll miss him. I don’t mean that to sound too harsh (not that he much cared about sounding too harsh). The truth is I almost never watched his show, unless it was on someplace where I didn’t have control of the remote. That’s not quite the slight it may seem to be either. My job often makes me feel like Lucy

Taliban fighters dressed in military uniforms attacked an army base in northern Afghanistan, killing or wounding more than 100 soldiers, authorities said Saturday. The updated number of specific soldiers killed or wounded in the attack Friday was not immediately clear. The Afghan ministry of defense said it will provide a breakdown later Saturday. Earlier Friday, Qahar Araam, an army spokesman, said at least eight soldiers died. At the time of attack, security forces were observing Friday prayers. The militants engaged in a six-hour battle with soldiers that left five fighters dead, he said. The base attacked is the headquarters of the
Caracas faced another tense day after massive protests against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, with barricades of trash and debris in the streets, shuttered businesses and sporadic blossoms of tear gas. Demonstrators take a fallen tree from a truck to use it as a barricade during a protest in Caracas on April 20. A coalition of opposition parties called for continued demonstrations Thursday like those the previous day in the capital and major cities. Hundreds of thousands turned out to rally against Maduro’s grip on the country’s institutions, and his policies that have left the economy in tatters. Clashes between protesters, security forces
US authorities have prepared charges to seek the arrest of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, US officials familiar with the matter tell CNN.The Justice Department investigation of Assange and WikiLeaks dates to at least 2010, when the site first gained wide attention for posting thousands of files stolen by the former US Army intelligence analyst now known as Chelsea Manning.Prosecutors have struggled with whether the First Amendment precluded the prosecution of Assange, but now believe they have found a way to move forward. During President Barack Obama´s administration, Attorney General Eric Holder and officials at the Justice Department determined it would be
The day before Bill O´Reilly was cut loose from Fox News after 20 years with the network, his handlers appeared to believe they had at least one more card to pull that might help save his job in the midst of a sexual harassment scandal engulfing the top-rated prime time host.On Tuesday, O´Reilly and his legal team debated whether to share with the leadership of parent company 21st Century Fox an April 13 email from Mary Pat Bonner, a Democratic fundraiser and ally of the liberal watchdog group Media Matters, which had spearheaded what she called an "advertiser education campaign"

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., argued Thursday that President Trump and Republicans in Congress will have "doo-doo stuck to their shoe for a long time" if they pass the revised American Health Care Act (AHCA). The comments came a day after the AHCA received a boost in support from the House Freedom Caucus, which announced it would back the bill. "I think President Trump is really making fools of the members of Congress, of his own party," she said in her weekly press conference. "He´s asking them to vote for a bill that is wildly unpopular in the country,
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz could potentially be unable to work for up to a month due to a medical emergency. Chaffetz took to Instagram Wednesday to announce doctors at the University of Utah recommended immediate surgery on his foot to prevent a serious infection caused by screws from a former injury. “Almost 12 years ago, I shattered several bones in my foot which required 14 screws and a metal plate to repair,” he said in the caption. “Yes, I wish I could say I was cliff diving in Mexico but the truth is I
I HAVE been a practising Christian all my life and a deacon and Bible teacher for many years. My faith is a source of strength and comfort to me, as religious beliefs are to hundreds of millions of people around the world. So my decision to sever my ties with the Southern Baptist Convention, after six decades, was painful and difficult. It was, however, an unavoidable decision when the convention´s leaders, quoting a few carefully selected Bible verses and claiming that Eve was created second to Adam and was responsible for original sin, ordained that women must be "subservient" to byline corrected by staff
Chelsea Clinton urged the importance of fighting hunger as she was honored at a New York charity gala on Tuesday night. The former First Daughter, who is a Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, was presented with the City Harvest Award for Commitment for her support of the organization through volunteering with the Clinton Foundation´s Day of Action program. She wore a colorful patterned dress, black cardigan and nude heels to the event on Tuesday, which was also attended by Chrissy Teigen, actress Bridget Moynahan, Real Housewives Of New York star Bethenny Frankel and domestic goddess Martha Stewart.
Although President Donald J. Trump promised to defund Planned Parenthood if elected president, and the GOP House and Senate often claim that they want to defund the group, there reportedly is no language in the continuing resolution to fund the government through next September to defund Planned Parenthood, a group that has performed approximately 81,567 abortions since Trump´s inauguration on Jan. 20. That´s about 877 abortions per day, 36 per hour, or 1 every two minutes. The continuing resolution, or CR, is a funding mechanism that -- absent a budget and the regular appropriations process -- wraps federal spending into
The United Nations warned the Trump administration earlier this year that repealing ObamaCare without providing an adequate replacement would be a violation of multiple international laws, according to a new report. Though the Trump administration is likely to ignore the U.N. warning, The Washington Post reported the Office of the U.N. High Commission on Human Rights in Geneva sent an "urgent appeal" on Feb 2. The Post reported that the confidential, five-page memo cautioned that the repeal of the Affordable Care Act would put the U.S. “at odds with its international obligations.” The warning was sent to the State Department and reportedly said

In the past week, vandals have repeatedly defaced property at the prestigious University of Texas-Austin, spray-painting a hammer and sickle symbol and words like “rapist,” “racist” and “kill frat boys” on at least four fraternity houses. Last Friday, the vandals published an anonymous manifesto on It’s Going Down, a website that describes itself as “a media platform for revolutionary anarchist, anti-fascist, and autonomous anti-capitalist and anti-colonial movements.” In it, the vandals urge students to join them in terrorizing fraternities. The self-professed “Vandals of UT” say they are responding to no specific incident but “the everyday crisis that is rape culture,
ESPN laid off 100 employees on Wednesday as part of a company-wide restructuring. The struggling cable sports network first announced the layoffs last month. “We have long been about serving fans and innovating to create the best content for them. Today’s fans consume content in many different ways and we are in a continuous process of adapting to change and improving what we do,” ESPN said in a March statement. “Inevitably, that has consequences for how we utilize our talent. We are confident that ESPN will continue to have a roster of talent that is unequaled in sports.” Among those who were
