Senator Marco Rubio exited the confirmation hearing for Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State nominee and, important to note – RUSHED TO CNN, to tell media he was “uncertain” and “doubtful” if he’d support Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State. Moments earlier Senator Marco Rubio engaged in the following questioning of T-Rex: (Video)Important to remember, Marco Rubio openly supported John Kerry and voted yes on his confirmation. While I shall never be accused of defending Vladimir Putin, factually, the assertion of who was/is the enemy in Syria -and as a consequence who was/is attacking whom- was/is entirely false. As repeatedly evidenced
Comments: Arrogant, ignorant and dead wrong are a bad combination.
If you were the President of Russia or other high ranking functionary of the Russian Government would you negotiate with a US Secretary of State who defined you as a "War Criminal" from the get-go?
Rubio has to know that, so you have to figure that he was out to wound Tellerson and by extension Trump in their efforts at diplomacy with Russia. What is Rubio´s reason for doing that as his State voted for Trump, and you would think that as a Republican Senator that Rubio would want to give Tillerson and Trump a chance to succeed and not cripple their efforts at diplomacy with Russia from the get-go. So is Rubio just exacting revenge because Trump called him "Little Marco" and blew him out of the water during the campaign?
Little Marco was being a total horse´s hind end today. It was embarrassing to watch as that fool tried to get the SecStat designate to say stuff which, regardless of truth, are NOT helpful in diplomatic circles to just blurt out with no point to be made.
Rubio cut his foreign policy chops on Cubazuela. He follows those affairs closely.
Nobody has had more direct dealings with Hugo Chavez in all his vileness than Rex Tillerson. Unlike other corporate executives, T-Rex didn´t take Chavez´s piracy and contract stiffing lying down. He made life hell for the Venezuelan dictator, standing alone. Yet Rubio failed to ask a single question of Tillerson about Venezuela.
Why? Because it would have shown all Americans what a badass against filthy socialist dictators really is.
Why did Rubio fail to ask?
I think he´s being controlled by someone - who wants Tillerson scuppered. Would explain his stupid embarrassing stance about ´doing the right thing´ and voting Tillerson down.
If Rubes thinks trying to derail Trump will springboard him for 2020,he seriously needs to change his meds. This country has a lot of problems to solve and can´t stand being distracted by all these big egos on Cap.Hill.But by far Booker has to be the worse so far.The second coming of Obama will never happen. This country has learned it´s lesson on left wing minorities.Guess what, there will be a lot less illegals voting in 2020.
President Trump is expected to nominate the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, to run the Justice Department´s civil division, two sources familiar with the matter confirmed to CNN. If confirmed by the Senate, George Conway would lead an office that would handle legal challenges to major Trump administration initiatives, such as the controversial travel ban. The Wall Street Journal first reported that Conway -- a corporate lawyer -- was expected to be tapped for the position. Conway had previously been considered for the post of US solicitor general, according to sources who spoke to CNN in December.
Oh, no! Steve King gone done it now! He said, “We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies.” Then he doubled down by claiming that blacks and Hispanics would be at each other’s throats if whites ever became a minority. When pushed to apologize, he threw in some caveats about how race-mixing doesn’t bother him and you could adopt a black baby if it makes you feel better, but he refused to take back his #hatefacts. The backlash was instantaneous. (Snip)If we were taking in babies who liked us, King’s backlash may have had some credibility. We have hundreds of
Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, hosted a fund-raiser for Hillary during the Democratic National Convention last summer. His company just got busted for cheating 16,339 minimum- and low-wage employees.First, from the Hollywood Reporter last summer: "Disney´s Bob Iger Among Hosts of Hillary Clinton Fundraiser at Haim Saban´s House (Exclusive)." Next, from the Orlando Sentinel on Friday: The Walt Disney Co. has agreed to provide $3.8 million in back wages to thousands of hotel- and timeshare-resort workers after the U.S. Labor Department investigated violations of minimum wage, overtime and record keeping rules. Disney will pay back wages to 16,339 employees. That
Last year hundreds of Donald Trump supporters were attacked in San Jose California as the local law enforcement stood back and watched. Many attendees and victims stated the police actually facilitated the attacks by funneling the rally crowd directly into the path of an unchecked mob. Last week a judge approved the class action lawsuit continuing… SAN JOSE (KCBS) – A federal judge is giving Donald Trump supporters the green light to pursue their lawsuit against the city of San Jose. The plaintiffs accuse the city for not protecting them during a campaign rally last year. The Trump supporters in this
Too cool. President Trump and Vice-President Pence were both in Palm Beach Florida Saturday, leading to multiple motorcades. Groups of President Trump supporters gathered along the route as President Trump’s motorcade passed by. A small group had lined up on Bingham Island with signs and flags. According to one supporter: “We waved to him, the cars went by really fast, and we were just sitting down talking about the events of the day,” said Valeria Bianco. The long-time Trump supporter said no one expected what happened next. Bianco said a member of the President’s team came back, “And invited us to go
I suspect that nearly all readers of American Greatness are familiar with John Adams’ famous statement about the rule of law in his Constitution for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, approved by the voters in 1780. “In the government of this commonwealth,” Adams wrote, “the legislative department shall never exercise the executive and judicial powers, or either of them: the executive shall never exercise the legislative and judicial powers, or either of them: the judicial shall never exercise the legislative and executive powers, or either of them: to the end it may be a government of laws and not of men.” Adams
Two federal judges, both nominated by President Barack Obama, have issued injunctions against President Donald Trump’s revised executive order temporarily restricting travel from six terrorist safe havens in the Middle East and Africa. (Snip) These rulings ignore or misinterpret federal immigration law that gives the president the clear authority to act and prior Supreme Court precedents that support the legality of the president’s actions. Watson issued a nationwide injunction against enforcement of Section 2 and Section 6 of Executive Order 13,780, “Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States.” These are the provisions that would have suspended

Last Thursday Secretary T-Rex was in Japan (below left); Friday he was in South Korea (below right); tonight (tomorrow local) Secretary Tillerson will arrive in China.(photos)During a flight between nations, Secretary Tillerson gave an interview to IJR reporter Erin McPike. A full audio file has been provided CLICK HERE (will open in separate window) The interview is almost 30 minutes in duration and takes place aboard the flight. (Snip) I would again strongly urge everyone to ignore the media presentations of the comments from Secretary Tillerson, and instead go directly to the unfiltered source material. The Audio Interview is very interesting.
Perhaps you have a gas stove in your kitchen. When you turn it on, do you worry that it might pollute your water? Probably not. But the alleged threat to the water supply from natural gas is a primary argument employed by the radical environmentalists who oppose the construction of gas pipelines in New Jersey. We already have more than 35,000 miles of oil and gas pipelines in the state. Why this sudden rise in protests over a few minor additions to an existing network? Blame a guy by the name of Bill McKibben. He´s an environmental activist who has
The world´s top economic powers have dropped a pledge to oppose trade protectionism amid pressure from the US. The administration of President Donald Trump wants trade to more clearly benefit American companies and workers. Finance ministers from the G20 countries meeting in the German town of Baden-Baden issued a statement that said only that countries "are working to strengthen the contribution of trade" to their economies. Last year´s meeting called on them to resist "all forms" of protectionism, which can include border tariffs and rules that keep out imports to shield domestic companies from competition. The statement from the G20 finance ministers and central
Finance ministers from world´s biggest economies have dropped an anti-protectionist commitment after opposition from the US. G20 ministers left the two-day meeting without renewing their long-standing pledge to bolster free trade. Last year, the group of the world´s 20 largest economies vowed to "resist all forms of protectionism". But since then, President Donald Trump has taken office, and is aggressively pursuing an "America First" policy. (Snio)The communique, which was published at the end of the meeting in Baden-Baden with the agreement of all attending delegates, also failed to include a vow on climate change. Mr Trump has already promised to slash environmental funding.
It seemed a little early to condemn NFL teams for freezing out Colin Kaepernick. Barely a week had gone by in free agency. With one exception — albeit a grotesque, borderline-obscene one — not many quarterbacks had been coming off of the market. Bleacher Report’s Friday story on how front-office types still want nothing to do with him for his protests during the national anthem shined another light on it. (Snip) Come on. Stop it. Do not ever say Colin Kaepernick can´t get a job because he´s not good enough. Think of a better excuse. Think of a better lie.
Faced with an intractable homeless problem, officials in Portland are thinking inside the box. A handful of homeless families will soon move into tiny, government-constructed modular units in the backyards of willing homeowners. (Snip) The project, called A Place for You, is believed to be the first in the nation to recruit stable residents to address a homeless crisis that´s gotten so bad the city last year declared a state of emergency and made it legal to sleep on the street. Portland has an affordable rental shortage of 24,000 units and nearly 4,000 people sleep on the street, in a
WashingtonBarack Obama´s post-presidency life is way more glamorous than you could imagine. Back in Washington, President Donald Trump continues to suggest, without proof, that Obama wiretapped him and Republicans are busy trying to dismantle his signature health reform law. Nevertheless, former President Barack Obama is unwinding nicely from the most important job in the world. He´s been to sunny California for some golf, a private island in the Caribbean, where he kite-surfed with billionaire Richard Branson; he went to New York to take in a Broadway play, and then again, to dine with U2´s Bono. He lunched in Omaha last week
After a flood of gushing media coverage touting his deep family devotion as reason for his decision to stay in Washington after his term ended, President Obama turns out not to be quite the devoted family man he was portrayed as after all. He´s just jetted off to Tahiti, alone, without family, in what must be his fourth vacay to yet another exotic private pleasure resort in the wake of leaving office. It´s the life of the jet-set, the idle rich, the rich wastrel, the luxury mooch...the Hollywood elite after they´ve made it big in pictures, or the new-money shady-business magnate
In the four months since the election, New York and D.C. media outlets have been diligently boosting all stories related to Chelsea Clinton, apparently in the hopes that they can astroturf a political appetite among liberals for a political campaign by the former First Daughter. Here’s The Hill, from yesterday: When rumors started swirling after the election that Chelsea Clinton was considering her own foray into politics, it was met with eye rolls even from staunch supporters of the family. […] But that skepticism is starting to fade. Last month, a separate report in the New York Daily News said that Clinton could
Expedia just named Chelsea Clinton to its board of directors. In a public filing posted Friday, the travel site said it named Clinton -- the daughter of Hillary Clinton -- as a member of its board on Thursday. Expedia (EXPE) said Clinton will be paid "in accordance with the company´s standard compensation policies" for board members. According to an Expedia proxy statement from August, non-employee directors were paid a $45,000 "annual retainer" and awarded $250,000 worth of stock in 2015. Board members who served on various committees were paid an additional $10,000 to $20,000. But Expedia said in a filing
More than 300,000 workers are planning to walk out of their jobs in protest of President Trump on International Workers Day, according to a new report. The report by Buzzfeed News said that "350,000 service workers plan to strike on May 1, a traditional day for labor activism across the world, in the most direct attempt yet by organized labor to capture the energy from a resurgent wave of activism across the country since the election of Donald Trump." The Service Employees International Union, which endorsed Democrat Hillary Clinton for president back in 2015, will be a large component of
Chelsea Clinton has another feather in her cap now that she’s joined the Board of Directors of travel company Expedia — a very part time gig that pays $45,000 in cash and $250,000 in stock options per year. Expedia announced Friday that they’d created the seat for her, expanding their existing 13-member board to 14 members, just for Chelsea. The board voted for the change this week, according to documents just filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. (Snip) According to Expedia’s Board Member Rules, she could earn an additional $10,000 to $20,000 for serving on one of the Board’s
Scientists are conducting a massive computer simulation to work out how New York would respond to a nuclear attack in the heart of Manhattan. The three-year, $450,000 project will simulate two nuclear detonations and their effects on up to 20 million virtual ´agents´ each representing civilian, first responder or other official over the course of 30 days. But first they need to input data - a lot of data, taken from disaster reports across the US - to figure out how individuals really react to catastrophe. ´Computational social science is not experimental.´ Professor William Kennedy of Virginia´s George Mason University
Trump appointees to head the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency to the contrary, the war on science isn’t limited to conservatives. Liberals have their own anti-science biases. Where conservatives often reject science based on their literal interpretation of the Bible or due to an abhorrence of federal regulations, liberals appear to be motivated by a belief that all things natural are good, anything with a chemical name is bad, and everything that profits an industry is really bad (unless that industry makes dietary supplements). If you don’t believe in the existence of the anti-science left, just walk
The Trump administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a government website further detailing President Donald Trump´s promise to build a "big, beautiful wall" at the Mexican border. The notices were made public late Friday by Customs and Border Protection, the Homeland Security Department agency that will oversee the project and eventually patrol and maintain the wall. The proposals are due to the government by March 29. Staff corrections
HILLARY Clinton has fuelled rumours of a political comeback as she insisted she is “ready to come out of the woods” and unite US citizens. The 69-year-old former Presidential candidate told an Irish women’s group that she had a “hard time watching the news” during her St Patrick’s day speech. She told the Society of Irish women yesterday: “What can we do to try to bring people together and to try to find that common ground, even higher ground, sister, so that we listen to each other again and we know that we can make a difference? “I’m not sure it
