Ten Reasons Why I Am
No Longer a Leftist

American Thinker, by Danusha V. Goska

Original Article

How far left was I? So far left my beloved uncle was a card-carrying member of the Communist Party in a Communist country. When I returned to his Slovak village to buy him a mass card, the priest refused to sell me one. So far left that a self-identified terrorist proposed marriage to me. So far left I was a two-time Peace Corps volunteer and I have a degree from UC Berkeley. So far left that my Teamster mother used to tell anyone who would listen that she voted for Gus Hall, Communist Party chairman, for president. I wore a

Agree with #3, make this a must read. The actions of the Left are pure Evil.

From Psalm 36:
Sin speaks to the sinner in the depth of his heart.
There is no fear of God before his eyes.

He so flatters himself in his mind that he knows not his guilt.
In his mouth are mischief and deceit.
All wisdom is gone.

He plots the defeat of goodness as he lies on his bed.
He has set his foot on evil ways, he clings to what is evil.

The rest of the psalm speaks of God´s love.

Oh, those western, heterosexual men. Freedom could not exist without them.

"I never witnessed significant leftist outrage over clitoredectomy, child marriage, honor killing, sharia-inspired rape laws, stoning, or acid attacks. Nothing. Zip. Crickets."

I would love to send this to some leftist acquaintances. (I don´t have any leftist friends). But I doubt that any of them would read beyond the title.

One of my own experiences similar to those mentioned in this essay was a conversation with a woman who is the ultimate leftist cliche - think GreenPeace sticker on her Prius. I mentioned, in the context of the conversation, that I never wanted to be on welfare. This woman shot back with, "Are you a bigot?" I had not mentioned race or ethnicity and pointed out to her that she was the one who connected welfare with race and was, therefore, the bigot. End of conversation. Here´s the kicker - this woman lives in a ultra-exclusive retirement community which is so lily-white that there aren´t even any minorities working there. In the assisted living facility, all of the kitchen, maintenance and housekeeping workers are white. And all of the residents are VERY well off.

A mind blowing "wow" for sure, and a strong agreement on a "must read". A powerful argument against Leftism by a former Leftist.

Also brings to mind another "Rush is Right" moment, he does know these people and clearly articulates their motivation.

Writer Goska does a One-Up of Saint Paul´s confession of killing Christians and holding the coats at Stephen´s stoning, but instead comes off still picking fights that nobody can win. Plus, the writer subtly lets you know she is now a repentant Catholic (good) and that she was moved by the horror visited on Sarah Palin and the utter dichotomy of the left.

In total, I am even more convinced--based upon this article--that liberalism, leftism, communism, etc., is indeed A MENTAL DISORDER!

I just posted this brilliant piece to my Facebook page so I expect to be "unfriended" by some, at the very least, and attacked by others -- if they bother to read it, which, of course, is very unlikely. Oh, well!

I knew, or had experienced about 75% of the things he cited, but the other 25% is so vile that even I was shocked. These people are VERY sick. Their hypocrisy, which is in essence a blatant form of lying, is the thing that disturbs me the most. And they get away with it every day

It seems she´s come to her senses, but why did it take a lifetime? Many of the things she recognized happened years ago, yet she continued to turn a blind eye to them. If she wants to continue her healing she needs to divest herself of her liberal friends and her basic sympathy to the goals of liberalism/communism.

I have been an L Dot member since almost the first weeks.
It makes me sad that over the years since 2006 there is a growing number of hate posts directed at fellow conservatives who are not on the same page with some of the more narrow ideas some posters project.
I despise the labels thrown about and slurs towards different Christian denominations.
The ever growing my way or the highway rants
We are a better people than this aren´t we?
Are to push out moderates and become as vicious as the progressives have done to moderate and conservative democrats?

Hatred is coupled to arrogance, which is connected to chronic sinfulness. Although the left has a definite monopoly on the combination of these evils, the Republican Party has one or two in their midst, as well, whom we usually refer to as, "RINOs." One such man from Arizona appears to harbor a "victim arrogance" of his own, which gets trotted out for display in times of need. There are others too, as I´m sure most here recognize. They despise conservative ideals and morality. In the media it´s often referred to as being a fiscal conservative vs. social conservative, etc., ad nauseum. A TRUE conservative is rigidly Judeo-Christian in morality, and a free-market capitalist by standards of economy. Those "in the middle" are more akin to "Politcal Transvestites," confused, but, oh so proud to show it off.

Love vs. Hate is the great conflict each of us entered into this world to resolve. While many people can speak of having a "love" for this, or their "love" for that, only God can say that He IS Love, as part of His Divine Essence.

"For God so LOVED the world that He gave His uniquely born Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."
John 3:16

Someone should ask the progrssive that stupid question that you get sometimes asked in job interviews - "Where do you see yourself five years from now?"

Good may fear, reject and be outraged by evil. But because hatred itself is evil, good does not hate evil. Evil, however, hates good. Not sure why the latter is true, except that it is. Perhaps it is because evil recognizes its own ugliness, which is all the more evident when good is present. The way to end the contrast is to drive out good.

The author is mostly likely a woman, having worked with the Sisters of Charity. Also, I think a woman would be more aware of misogyny than a man.

In the larger sense, gender is not the issue. The issue is the hypocrisy and cluelessness of the left. Eric and Gary, hosts of Red Eye Radio (very early morning nationwide conservative talk radio hosts) talk a lot about how what ever the left does to accomplish a goal, actually brings about the opposite of what they were trying to achieve.

President Obama firmly believes the United States is better off now than when he took office, even though the American people cannot “feel” it. During an interview with 60 Minutes’ Steve Kroft, Obama said, “the country is definitely better off than when I came into office.” “When I came into office, our economy was in crisis,” Obama said. The president then cited lower unemployment, private sector job growth, and deficit cuts as evidence of his administration’s success. “I can put my record against any leader around the world in terms of digging ourselves out of a terrible, almost unprecedented financial crisis,” Obama said. As our nation considers what President Obama now admits as “the real and growing threat” of terrorism, the question must be asked: What is the “Obama Doctrine?” A close examination of the thinking behind the Obama Doctrine reveals that we are engaged in a very real and dangerous version of the conflict waged inside the minds of those who insist that Islam is compatible with freedom. This doctrine dictates a war that is not only conceptually lost out the outset, but one that will produce actual loss, threatening lives even within our nation’s borders. One of my liberal friend’s husband is a long-time consultant to Democrat candidates, so when he says that having Hillary run in 2016 as the first woman presidential candidate would assure an additional 15% of the vote, he should know what he’s talking about. But it’s not what he’s talking about, it’s who! Just where would those additional votes come from? Certainly not from Republican ranks. President Obama spoke to the Congressional Black Caucus Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C. on Saturday. According to a White House transcript of the speech, Obama said the following: “All around the country, wherever I see folks, they always say, oh, Barack, we’re praying for you – boy, you’re so great; look, you got all gray hair, you looking tired. (Laughter.) We’re praying for you. Which I appreciate…” Here’s the video:(Snip for video)Obama must only be getting his feedback on the golf course as the rest of the country doesn’t think he’s so great these days. The L.A. Times is warning that the “worst is yet to come” if a grand jury fails to indict white officer Darren Wilson for shooting and killing black 18-year-old Michael Brown. If the grand jury fails to indict the officer who killed Michael Brown, almost everyone here thinks things will get worse. “They’re not going to be looting next time,” said Kevin Seltzer, 30, who lives at an apartment complex near where Brown, 18, was shot. “They’re going to burn the city down.” The article highlights recent indications that the city is “far from finding peace,” including continued clashes with officers, the shooting

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace asked neurosurgeon and GOP novelty Ben Carson, who is very vocally teasing a presidential run, if his inexperience disqualified him from the office, especially given the results of Obama’s alleged inexperience. “After looking at Barack Obama and what’s happened with his lack of political experience over the last six years, wouldn’t putting Ben Carson in the Oval Office be akin to putting a politician in an operating room and having him perform one of your brain surgeries?” Wallace asked. Shockingly, Carson said no. “I think what is required for leadership is wisdom and the

President Obama said the shooting death of a black teen by a white police officer last month in Ferguson, Missouri, exposed the racial divide in the American justice system that “stains the heart of black children.” Speaking at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation dinner in Washington on Saturday night, Mr. Obama said the death of Michael Brown “awakened our nation” to a reality that black citizens already understood. “In too many communities around the country, a gulf of mistrust exists between local residents and law enforcement,” Mr. Obama said. “Too many young men of color feel targeted by law

For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

The U.S. had expected the Iraqi army to do more against extremists, president says in acknowledgment of intelligence shortcomings. President Obama acknowledged that the U.S. underestimated the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS, also called ISIL) and overestimated the ability of the Iraqi military to fend off the militant group in an interview that will air Sunday on 60 Minutes. The president was asked by 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft about comments from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who has said the U.S. not only underestimated ISIS, it also overestimated the ability and will of the

WASHINGTON — The Senate’s minority whip is confident about Republicans being the majority in the 114th Congress — if conservatives can set aside differences and work to combat the massive influx of donor cash that has Democratic campaigns ahead in the money race. Only in the majority, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) stresses, can conservatives make headway on tamping down overregulation, repealing and replacing Obamacare, securing the “chaotic” border, getting Keystone XL moving, and bringing civilized debate back to the upper chamber. And only by realizing the gravity of the battle for November, he argues, can Republicans relegate Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

The Secret Service was unaware for four days that a man had fired a high-powered rifle at the White House in 2011 in a ´fumbled´ response that left the Obamas furious, says a new report. Officers allegedly performed a string of security lapses after Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez shot at least seven bullets at the executive mansion in Washington from his car. At the time, President Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and their older daughter Malia were not at home, but their younger daughter Sasha and Mrs Obama´s mother, Marian Robinson, were inside. It comes as the Secret Service is facing more questions over

The Justice Department is expected to ban profiling by federal law enforcement. Counter-terror investigators would be barred from undercover operations in mosques or other religious institutions unless there is reason to believe criminal activity is going on there, under a new policy expected within weeks. The new rules would ban profiling based on religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation and includes no exemption for national security investigations, the Los Angeles Times reports. The announcement of the new policy to crack down on law enforcement profiling was delayed for several months because of White House

Democrats think conservatives in general, and Tea Partiers in particular, are stupid. Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican. If you live in Kansas, for example, you can suck your thumb while Democrat ringer Greg Orman beats Republican Senator Pat Roberts. If you’re a Kentucky conservative, you can stay home and b***h about Mitch while Alison “Rubberstamp” Grimes heads to Washington. If you’re in Mississippi, you can stay mad at Thad and allow Travis “no repeal” Childers to win. That’ll show those RINOs! It

Leading astrologers say that Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky is destined for a future working on social justice and will enjoy a strong relationship with her proud grandparents, Hillary and Bill.
