ANN ARBOR — The University of Michigan has settled a lawsuit brought by a student libertarian club after the university spent thousands supporting leftist campus groups while denying funding to campus conservative and libertarian clubs. The university agreed to pay the U-M Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) a sum of $5,000 plus attorney fees for denying the student group funding toward an event hosted by anti-affirmative action activist Jennifer Gratz. Gratz spoke about the importance of intellectual diversity at the University last October.

"Diversity" means supporting all leftists - - regardless of their race, sex. income, or lifestyle.

Everyone else must be silenced.

Why should the IRS - - or anyone else in the Stinky administration - - pay any attention at all to these judges?

To paraphrase Uncle Joe Stalin - - how many divisions does a federal judge have?

WASHINGTON – George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley and former Acting U.S. Solicitor General Walter Dellinger engaged in an intense but friendly back-and-forth on Capitol Hill Wednesday. Sitting as witnesses before the House Rules Committee, they debated a host of arcane constitutional issues, lodging points and counterpoints to one another’s arguments about whether the House of Representatives can sue the president of the United States. The Turley/Dellinger tête-à-tête featured court case citations, historical precedent and the intentions of the Founders. Reduced to bystanders, lawmakers listened in rapt attention from the dais, mulling the polite dialogue between two of the nation’s most-nimble

On September 1, 1983, Soviet fighter aircraft shot down Korean Air Lines flight 007 which had inadvertently entered Soviet airspace on its way from Anchorage to Seoul. All 269 people on board were killed. President Reagan swiftly condemned “this crime against humanity,” which only redoubled his desire to bring down the “evil empire” (as he had called the Soviet Union earlier that year). We can only hope for similar moral clarity today from the U.S. and Europe in the aftermath of the equally outrageous shooting down of Malaysian Airlines flight 17 over Ukraine with 295 people on board including more

The plane went down around 11:30 ET, possibly with Americans on board and most assuredly with dire consequences for eastern European geopolitics. But since we’re in the post-optics “YOLO” phase of lame-duckery, that’s really no reason to cancel a fun day out. At approximately 12:50 pm, the motorcade stopped at the Charcoal Pit, a popular, established restaurant just north of Wilmington, Del. Known for its burgers and sundaes. Obama shook hands and mingled with many of the diners, stopping at one point to pick up seven-month old Jaidyn Oates, and pose for a photo. He invoked Vice Presiident Biden’s name

Girkin is the defense minister of the separatist republic that it is battling to enforce Russia´s hold on the Ukraine. He is one of the most well-known faces of the pro-Russia insurgency in the Ukraine. Ukrainian authorities identify him as a veteran of the Russian military intelligence

Liberals scoffed in 1983 when President Ronald Reagan first proposed the Strategic Defense Initiative missile defense system. They called it "Star Wars" and claimed the technology was fictional. Other critics took a different tack, arguing that Star Wars would be harmful if it did work because it would upset the delicate nuclear balance between the United States and Soviet Union. The Soviets depended on the threat of mutual assured destruction in order to maintain diplomatic parity with a wealthier, more advanced adversary. To disturb that balance, some analysts argued, would destabilize the international order. Of course, the Soviets, whose entire system

The summer of 2014 will go down in history as the season when America fell apart. Let’s take a tour of the disasters. Germany in 2008 enthusiastically hosted candidate Barack Obama for his so-called Victory Column speech. Now, Germans suddenly sound as if they are near-enemies of the U.S. Chancellor Angela Merkel reportedly was furious that her cell phone was tapped by American intelligence agents. She just kicked the top CIA official out of Germany, further enraged that the U.S. had recruited at least one German official to provide intelligence on the German government. After sending a letter and questioning Attorney General Eric Holder twice and former FBI Director Robert Mueller once about the probe, Rep. I urge the Department to move forward with this investigation in an expeditious and prudent manner." In a Gallup poll released Tuesday, the percentage of Americans who say that immigration is the nation’s most important problem reached 17 percent, the highest level in eight years and the second-highest ever recorded by that polling organization. It’s easy to scoff at the fickleness of the American public, taking a long-term problem such as immigration (legal or otherwise) from rating as most important by 5 percent of the population to 17 percent of the population in just a few weeks, notwithstanding the images of young unaccompanied children flooding into Texas. After all, border security and immigration didn’t suddenly become three

The collapse of a cease-fire plan for Israel and Hamas would be a moment to test the Jewish state’s super-weapon — Caroline Glick. Or, more precisely, her idea of a one-state plan for peace in the Middle East. Glick laid out the plan in a book called “The Israeli Solution.” Her idea, which I wrote about in March, is to absorb into a single state — Israel — all of the West Bank and the Arab and Jewish populations who live there. It’s as controversial as an idea can get. She leaves aside Gaza, where there is no Israeli presence and which

During the Bush years, the open-borders movement won over bleeding hearts in the White House but alienated the American public with radical displays of La Raza ("The Race") militancy, desecrated American flags and Che Guevara shirt-wearing, fist-thrusting marches across the country. Left-wing public relations consultants taught the amnesty mob to tone it down, turn the flags right-side up and stop threatening Reconquista. But the phony red-white-and-blue dye job didn´t last. After President Barack Obama breathlessly addressed four different foreign-policy issues during a 10-minute statement, he summed up the state of a crisis-filled world in one sentence. "We live in a complex world and at a challenging time," Obama said. Obama touched on the laundry list of global flashpoints situations during a statement from the White House on Wednesday — the disputed elections in Afghanistan, the negotiations on Iran´s nuclear program, the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, and, finally, the conflict in Ukraine. The most significant recent development in these situations was the announcement of new sanctions on Russia shortly before the president spoke. Obama described those

Say the economy grows from the middle out. Say the wealthy have to “pay their fair share.” Blame Republicans in Congress for everything. Encourage you to vote rather than boo.
