The BBQ joint where NO ONE cuts the line...
except Obama: Controversy as President

Barack Obama may have lost a few approval rating points with this move. The president was seen cutting the line at Austin´s Franklin Barbecue Thursday afternoon, while in town to raise money for the Democratic Party. Lives at the eatery are infamously long, and have been known to stretch as long as three hours wait. But Mr Obama did no waiting today, as he showed up at the restaurant, shook a few hands and made his way straight to the register to order more than $300 worth of meat. ´I know this is a long line. I feel real bad, but – I’m gonna

When Bush 41 was running for Prez, he stopped in Dayton for a campaign rally. Mr. Bush decided to visit the Pine Club, a local steak house with a reputation for two things: You wait for a table (no reservations), and they don´t take credit cards.

Mr. Bush cheated a bit, having the SS guys wait instead of hanging out at the bar, but he didn´t line jump.

The best BBQ is found in Memphis, TN anyway.(ducking head now).

Why not,....Obammy has cut in front of the entire country his whole fake, phony, affirmative action privileged life. I´m surprised that he actually paid the check.

Austin is the San Francisco of Texas. I don´t know why Austin hasn´t moved to California, Oregon, Colorado or Washington state to just get it over with. Austin has nothing to do with Texas.

#8 calling names is not the same as discussing reasonableness. WE the PEOPLE in the USA have general understanding that presidents have certain prerogatives due to the need for security, and others due to needs of the office. Thus, we accept (begrudgingly), closed highways for presidential transport. But when a pres steps over the line, as did Clinton for his LAX-stopping haircut, many of us think the line between presidential prerogative and unseemly behavior is crossed. Jumping to the head of the food line may simply be bad manners, or it may be indicative of a deeper, and more virulent, personality disorder.

There was printed in a report an evaluation of people who served around the past presidents (close and surrounding) that stated the most civility.

An example, Bush didn´t land in Louisiana after the hurricane because extra security would have been extended to the airport when it was really needed in the flooded areas. He received flack for not being in the middle of the mess instantly.

The earliest Bush family extended courtesy to the Secret Service on many occasions.

The Reagans were noted for consideration for those around them.

Then there are those that have cursed the secret service, The Clintons, and the Obamas.

So, civility, courtesy, doesn´t end because one is elected as the highest representative of the people of the US. To assume so is clear evidence of pomposity. So there!

I was listening to KLBJ Radio from Austin this morning. Not only did our Dear Leader(US) cut in line, he had to mooch money from one of his aides to pay for the grub.

Now, I know most guys like Obama don´t carry cash, etc., but you´d a thunk that some aid would have discreetly passed the boss a couple of sawbucks ahead of time to pay the tab.

By the way, Austin traffic, which on a good day is a mess, was even worse during Dear Leader(US)´s visit. About a mile of IH-35 exits in downtown were closed, overpasses closed and commuters were told to expect problems until about 3 pm (which I´m sure coincided with Dear Leader(US)´s exit from Austin.

Most of us in Texas favor a border fence ... or at least a cattle guard around Austin to keep the liberals penned up and away from the rest of us.

JERUSALEM—A Hamas force wearing Israeli army uniforms emerged from a tunnel inside Israel this morning and inflicted losses on Israeli troops before being wiped out. The Hamas squad numbered at least 10 fighters, Israeli sources said. Nine were killed but an Israeli officer said at least two may have escaped through the tunnel. In initial accounts, which gave conflicting narratives, the Hamas force was said to have emerged from a hidden tunnel on the Israeli side of the border only 200 yards from a kibbutz, and split into two groups. Israeli soldiers whom one group encountered shortly afterwards reportedly took them to

The Progressive mantra of “diversity is our strength” is one of the most honored catchphrases of the left. Like all slogans, it is a test to see if common folk are “gun-toting, Bible-clinging” Neanderthals or are they part of the enlightened, educated elites to whom the rest of us must surrender our individual beliefs, opinions, and thoughts. But as with all that the Progressives say, the meaning of the words being used is warped and misrepresented. For example, think about what Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz is saying in the following: Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who ´get it!´

[E]very radical adjustment is a crisis in self-esteem... For many students, the unwelcome return to school is often sweetened with a shopping trip for school supplies and new clothes. Not anymore. As college, high school and grade school students begin returning to classes, the Environmental Protection Agency is urging students to use recycled material, even garbage, for their supplies and to shop at thrift stores for “retro fashions.” And don’t even think about taking more than one napkin or salt packet in the lunch line. “Buy smart! Nan Rich, while Scott coasted in his own primary toward a general election matching the state’s last two Republican governors. Both have struggled with sagging approval ratings and run-ins with conservatives. “It’s a wonderful night,” Crist declared after accepting a concession call from Rich. Crist said the strong showing is a sign that Democrats

Vocativ was on Martha’s Vineyard over the weekend to film a piece about the African-American community on the island. While we were shooting on Beach Road, one of the busiest thoroughfares on the Vineyard, the Secret Service approached and asked us to switch off our camera for 15 minutes. A moment later, first lady Michelle Obama power walked by our crew. She was out for some exercise with a small group—and a serious security

A crowd of family, friends, music stars, civil rights leaders and preachers gathered at the Friendly Temple Missionary Baptist Church on Monday for the memorial of Michael Brown, an 18-year-old robbery suspect who was fatally shot by local police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Mo. Brown’s uncle, Pastor Charles Ewing, gave a passionate eulogy and made parallels of his nephew’s life and that of the life of Jesus Christ. “Michael Brown was 18 years old. He was shot around noon. Our Lord and Savior hung on the cross — now compare our time frame 12 o’clock to the Jewish time frame which
