The BBQ joint where NO ONE cuts the line...
except Obama: Controversy as President

Barack Obama may have lost a few approval rating points with this move. The president was seen cutting the line at Austin´s Franklin Barbecue Thursday afternoon, while in town to raise money for the Democratic Party. Lives at the eatery are infamously long, and have been known to stretch as long as three hours wait. But Mr Obama did no waiting today, as he showed up at the restaurant, shook a few hands and made his way straight to the register to order more than $300 worth of meat. ´I know this is a long line. I feel real bad, but – I’m gonna

When Bush 41 was running for Prez, he stopped in Dayton for a campaign rally. Mr. Bush decided to visit the Pine Club, a local steak house with a reputation for two things: You wait for a table (no reservations), and they don´t take credit cards.

Mr. Bush cheated a bit, having the SS guys wait instead of hanging out at the bar, but he didn´t line jump.

Why not,....Obammy has cut in front of the entire country his whole fake, phony, affirmative action privileged life. I´m surprised that he actually paid the check.

Austin is the San Francisco of Texas. I don´t know why Austin hasn´t moved to California, Oregon, Colorado or Washington state to just get it over with. Austin has nothing to do with Texas.

#8 calling names is not the same as discussing reasonableness. WE the PEOPLE in the USA have general understanding that presidents have certain prerogatives due to the need for security, and others due to needs of the office. Thus, we accept (begrudgingly), closed highways for presidential transport. But when a pres steps over the line, as did Clinton for his LAX-stopping haircut, many of us think the line between presidential prerogative and unseemly behavior is crossed. Jumping to the head of the food line may simply be bad manners, or it may be indicative of a deeper, and more virulent, personality disorder.

There was printed in a report an evaluation of people who served around the past presidents (close and surrounding) that stated the most civility.

An example, Bush didn´t land in Louisiana after the hurricane because extra security would have been extended to the airport when it was really needed in the flooded areas. He received flack for not being in the middle of the mess instantly.

The earliest Bush family extended courtesy to the Secret Service on many occasions.

The Reagans were noted for consideration for those around them.

Then there are those that have cursed the secret service, The Clintons, and the Obamas.

So, civility, courtesy, doesn´t end because one is elected as the highest representative of the people of the US. To assume so is clear evidence of pomposity. So there!

I was listening to KLBJ Radio from Austin this morning. Not only did our Dear Leader(US) cut in line, he had to mooch money from one of his aides to pay for the grub.

Now, I know most guys like Obama don´t carry cash, etc., but you´d a thunk that some aid would have discreetly passed the boss a couple of sawbucks ahead of time to pay the tab.

By the way, Austin traffic, which on a good day is a mess, was even worse during Dear Leader(US)´s visit. About a mile of IH-35 exits in downtown were closed, overpasses closed and commuters were told to expect problems until about 3 pm (which I´m sure coincided with Dear Leader(US)´s exit from Austin.

Most of us in Texas favor a border fence ... or at least a cattle guard around Austin to keep the liberals penned up and away from the rest of us.

You know, the closer we get to the 2016 presidential elections, the more I fret the uncertain future which may lay ahead for our great nation, courtesy, if you will, of some of my fellow-Americans lackadaisical deportment regarding our decadent State of the Union; a paradoxical departure from everything that America stood for just prior to our president Barack Obama’s untimely election, as he claimed on October 30th, 2008, to being just five days away [election day] from fundamentally transforming the nation. A feat, which, in hindsight, he was able to consummate fully and unobstructed. As far as I am concerned,

Establishment Republicans should keep the champagne on ice until after the midterm elections. Too many are already popping corks, pronouncing their strategy of “crushing” the Tea Party during the primaries as a crucial step in their successful takeover of the Senate. There are increasing signs, however, that the GOP might not take control of the Senate and may only make modest gains in the House of Representatives. In states like North Carolina, for example, the GOP candidate hasn’t shown the ability to wage a major-league campaign. In other key battleground states, the establishment GOP is supporting problematic candidates, like Monica Wehby

While there is not yet a front-runner in the early race for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is quickly becoming the favored contender of social conservatives, riding a recent wave of fiery speeches and standing ovations at right-wing conferences. Cruz’s core supporters on the right are the activists and high-powered interest groups determined to keep faith-infused positions at the center of the Republican Party, regardless of a push by some in the GOP to seek distance from socially conservative stands on marriage and abortion. We mention President Obama´s narcissism not as an exercise in name-calling but because it continues to be relevant to how he conducts himself in office, and it´s not pretty. President Barack Obama´s intelligence briefings have provided him with specific information since before he won re-election in 2012 about the growing threat of the terror group now known alternatively as ISIS and ISIL, an administration insider told MailOnline on Monday. ´Unless someone very senior has been shredding the president´s daily briefings and telling him that the dog ate them, highly accurate predictions about ISIL have been showing up in the Oval Office since before the 2012 election,´(snip) ´Any time you´re hired by a boss to advise him about what to do in a high-stakes area, and he ignores you for

Well, that didn’t take long. Just two weeks into the new season of “The View,” co-hosts Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg tore into each other during a commercial break — in front of their stunned studio audience. The spat erupted Thursday after Goldberg interrupted O’Donnell to go to a commercial break before the mother of five was finished commenting in a “Hot Topic” discussion about spanking children on the ABC gabfest. O’Donnell refuses to wear an earpiece to stay in contact with producers while the live show is airing, so she had no clue it was time to stop talking.

Jerry Brown on Tuesday signed legislation imposing the nation's first statewide ban on single-use plastic bags, driven to action by a buildup of litter and damage to aquatic ecosystems. A national coalition of plastic bag manufacturers immediately said it would seek a voter referendum to repeal the law, which is scheduled to take effect in July 2015. Under SB270, plastic bags will be phased out of large grocery stores starting next summer and convenience stores and pharmacies in 2016. The law allows grocers to charge a fee of at least 10 cents for using paper bags. State Sen. Alex Padilla, D-Los Angeles,

Democrats think conservatives in general, and Tea Partiers in particular, are stupid. Here’s how to reinforce that belief: Sit out the 2014 congressional elections because your favorite candidate lost his primary bid to an establishment Republican. If you live in Kansas, for example, you can suck your thumb while Democrat ringer Greg Orman beats Republican Senator Pat Roberts. If you’re a Kentucky conservative, you can stay home and b***h about Mitch while Alison “Rubberstamp” Grimes heads to Washington. If you’re in Mississippi, you can stay mad at Thad and allow Travis “no repeal” Childers to win. That’ll show those RINOs! It

Leading astrologers say that Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky is destined for a future working on social justice and will enjoy a strong relationship with her proud grandparents, Hillary and Bill. After Chelsea Clinton and Mark Mezvinsky’s daughter was born at 7:03 pm at Lenox Hill Hospital on Manhattan’s Upper East Side on Friday, POLITICO asked astrologers to weigh in on what is written in the stars for the former first daughter’s first daughter. “She may not follow her family’s politics, but she will follow the family’s activism and social justice and finding a way to serve the world, following in that
