White House requests $3.7 billion in
emergency funds for border crisis

Washington Post, by David Nakamura and Wesley Lowery

Original Article

The White House on Tuesday formally requested $3.7 billion in emergency funding from Congress to deal with an influx of Central American minors along the southern border. But the proposal was quickly met with broad skepticism among Republican lawmakers, who were doubtful that the package would be approved quickly — if at all. Administration officials said the request is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at building more detention centers, adding immigration judges, and beefing up border patrols and air surveillance. President Obama has said he hopes such steps will both speed deportations and discourage adults from sending children on

Hey Dad !

I got drunk and crashed the car into a bus load of kids and took off in kind of a ´hit and run´ thingee.
So...I´ll be needing a couple hundred grand for that cool new Ferrari I saw at the dealership today.

Would you give $3.7 billion to a guy that repeatedly lied to you about how he was going to spend the money you gave him?
To "solve" a crisis HE created? That he created to make YOU look bad?

No question that the money would be used to bring thousands more illegals in and pay for their legal fees. Look what Obama has done already without any money actually approved for his subterfuge.

Hahahahahaha.

Are those "detention centers" shovel ready? If there was a major pile-up on the expressway, or a train derailment, with thousands of injured people, would anyone think that the way to address the medical emergency would be to ask for money to build a hospital?

This is just a stall to let even more illegal aliens flood in. The national guard should be on the border already.

If you like your border, you can keep your border.

The Republicans had better get their messaging right or the press will savage them as waging a war against immigrant children. They must lay out the facts and make the people understand that they do care about children, American children. They also must connect this invasion to Obama because it would never have happened without him. They must make the case for a secure border. The American people want it. Finally, they must explain that any funds will be used to first put the national guard on the border. Then they will pass legislation allowing the government to repatriate these children immediately to their homes. Lastly, put the gangs on notice that they will be hunted down and summarily kicked back to their country of origin when they are apprehended. Be prepared for the libs to head to Crazytown because they are losing their voting block. They will definitely wage a PR war against the Republicans. However, if the Republicams would be strong and do the right thing which is the thing most Americans want regarding immigration, it would serve them well.

We already know that this massive exodus from Central America was long in the planning. Obama, Valerie et al planned it and it´s only now coming to fruition. So let´s dispense with any duplicitous verbiage that this is just a sudden, emergency flight of people from oppression. This exodus is designed to flood America with new Democrats and to suck the economy of America dry to pay for their upkeep.

That aside, there´s this:

More than 52,000 unaccompanied minors and 39,000 women with children have been apprehended on the southern border this year, far more than in past years.

Why all of a sudden? What happened to create such a sudden presence on our borders? What is upcoming in America that warrants a massive influx of illegals who will get photo-ID drivers´ licenses right away? (You didn´t hear about that?)

Most have come from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras; those countries would receive money under Obama’s proposal to help repatriate their citizens after they are returned home.

It´s a lie. The money from Obama´s proposal would not in a million years go to "repatriate their citizens" after returning home. The money will go toward a new welfare group´s support.

Why fly and bus all these people here, why allow them across our borders only to claim you want to send them home? It´s absurd to think anyone believes that.

No, any money Congress would give toward this plague would go directly to their upkeep -- housing, medical, food -- everything they need for a lifetime of America´s good life on our taxpayer dollars.

continued...

Your phone bill, energy bill, water bill, trash pickup, sales tax, income tax will be raised to pay for these illegals. And God alone knows how their diseases will affect the rest of the country once they´ve fanned out into every State.

If they are allowed to stay, the Republican Party is dead, outnumbered by hundreds of millions of Democrat voters, which is exactly the plan.

Not a dime out of our pockets. Take the money from the budgets of the IRS, the EPA, the NEA (both of them), Obamacare and the NSA. There´s plenty of wasted money there. Funnel that money into the fuel tanks of airplanes, buses and trucks and send them all home. They are a danger to our Republic on every level.

In Cloward-Piven fashion, this chaos is designed to collapse America´s ability to absorb hundreds of thousands, if not a million, people. Our economy cannot handle it unless producers are crippled. The money producers make must be confiscated to pay for these people, which will result in fewer producers. Why work if it´s going to be taken away?

We´re going Third World unless the Constitutional Lawyer madman in the Oval Office is stopped.Since that has always been the plan, twenty years or more in the making, it seems to be working fine so far.

OPEN LETTER TO CONGRESS: NO! No "emergency funds". Send them home. We are pi$$ed.

In the old days you could design a piece of legislation so the deserving recipients got nearly all the benefits. But no matter how well something maybe designed for the Alinsky crowd the Alinskyites will use the money however they see fit. The law means nothing to them. You may as well donate the $3.7 billion to the Democrat Party.

Unfortunately the republicans will huff and puff, posture and sound-bite, and in the end cave like they always do. They´d rather see the country utterly transformed (destroyed) on their watch than be called names by the liberal media. Folks, we are doomed: the dems are too corrupt to rule and the repubs too stupid. Unfortunately, the Founding Fathers planned for everything but a lack of moral clarity in our elected representatives and the power of the obamaphone with a lo info electorate.

$3.7 Billion? When he says courts and judges he means overpaid liberal immigration lawyers.

When he says "services for the immigrants" he means money into the coffers of SEIU.

He wants to solve income inequality by bringing in tens of thousands of uneducated, unemployable "immigrants" and then taxing the middle class to death to support them.

If our borders were protected, like they should be, and as most Countries´ borders are, there would be no need for "extra funding". These illegals are breaking our laws, no matter their age, and they did NOT just decide to come here on their own, they were sent here. It is a continuation of Obama´s actions to weaken the U>S> , disregard our Constitution, and break our laws. We have a system of legal immigration in place and illegal aliens should not displace immigrants coming here within our laws. It is blatantly obvious that Obama and his minions want to destroy our American way of life and tear down our society. My opinion.

This is an easy fix. 25M of this request is for the wild fires. This should be funded. BUT, Congress has the authority to realign U.S. money going to the countries that are sending their people to our borders to DHS to send these people back to their country. It´s an easy fix but tell me if Boehner has a pair to do this........probably NOT.

Seems to be going up about 200 million bucks a day. The Punk was demanding a mere two billion bucks for it last week.

By 2015 he will want a Trillion bucks, and it will cost the nation another hundred trillion bucks in long term costs. (assuming the nation lasts that long, which is a silly assumption anymore.)

Soon he will announce a program paying people two thousand (+-) taxpayer bucks a month per person to take these ´kiddies´ into their homes as foster children (until they can bring their extended families up)

But he is at this moment trying to figure out if he can get away with FORCING people to take them into their homes without getting paid.

Watch... He and his minions will soon start trying to shame people into taking these people in... "Where is your humanity? It is your christian duty to open your wallets and your homes to these poor political refugees." they will say.

If Congress appropriates the funding that Obama has asked for it will allow his crew to catch and release more young illegal aliens into the USA faster.

When you do the math he essentially wants abou 85k per illegal alien

This has the makings of a cash cow for all the leftist immigration lawyers who Obama wants to hire as administrative immigration judges, to represent the government, and to represent illegal aliens. A lot of those lawyers will be coming from the very liberal ethnic and immigrant advocacy groups who support amnesty and open borders who are about the last people to push for illegal aliens to be returned to their homelands. Some of the money those leftist lawyers will get, will be passed back to the Democrats in the form of campaign contributions. The immigration courts are rigged to benefit immigration lawyers and to make sure that most illegal aliens who can pay immigration lawyers are never actually deported.

Obama has set out NO plan to stop the flood of illegal aliens illegally coming across the borderline, he just wants to be able to catch and release them ASAP. He also wants the Republicans to facilitate a massive liberal Democrat amnesty that among thousands of other non enforcement things, would essentially legalize the flow of would be illegal aliens into the USA on into the future. There is nothing in all that to benefit ordinary Americans.

Movie and media and GOP CEOs have their low paid demi-slaves already. These folks are entitlement role bound to remain dependents of the USA and democrat voters.

So give the money to separate the outlaw adults like the criminal and gangsta element back to their tribe-we don´t need tribalism here, we need assimilation.

Take the abandoned youth into protective custody and clean them up and foster them out for adoption, their parents being deemed unfit (and them you would also find out what, who, why this border crisis is being driven? Right to the desk of some Marxist?

It does not make any difference if there were three deep border fences all along the borderline, and 22,000 border patrol agents along the borderline, as long as this country has a President who tells the border patrol that after illegal aliens are caught crossing the borderline that they must be released and be given a bus ticket to anywhere in he USA where they wish to travel. That´s just inviting the entire world to unlawfully cross America´s borderline as illegal aliens.

This money will be used to pay lawyers to keep these immigrants in the country. Some of it will be paid to organizations which will have nice sounding names like they care so deeply about immigration and they will launder the money back into the campaign coffers of the democrats. Some of it will be used pay for commercials against republicans.

None of it will be used in a way which will effectively reduce the the numbers of these people coming across the border.

Gov. Rick Perry told Hannity tonight that only a minimal amount of the 3.7B request will go to shore up the border. he has requested the prez authorize the National Guard to close the border - it can be done - just needs the prez to say so. The rest of the money, if Congress is daft enough to approve it, should be used to repatriate every last one if these illegal aliens, and give the Border Patrol some beefed up support for their needs, and compensate the NG. Currently the Border Patrol, when they aren´t seconded to nanny these kids, are operating as far inland as 45 miles - way too far from the border to be effective.

In a midterm election year in which the political climate and map of battleground states clearly favors Republicans, many GOP candidates are nevertheless embracing some Democratic priorities in an effort to win over skeptical voters. The shift is evident in some of the most contentious Senate and gubernatorial races — in traditional swing states as well as decidedly conservative ones such as Alaska and Arkansas — where Republican nominees have endorsed increases to the minimum wage, legalizing medical marijuana or granting in-state college tuition to some illegal immigrants. Even on social issues, an area where the GOP traditionally has hewed

WASHINGTON — A man jumped over the fence of the White House on Friday and made it through the front door before officers managed to apprehend him, just minutes after President Barack Obama had departed, the Secret Service said. The intruder sprinted toward the White House after leaping over the fence and ignored commands from officers to stop, Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan said. He was ultimately apprehended just inside the North Portico doors, the grand, columned entrance that looks out over Pennsylvania Ave. Donovan said the man appeared to be unarmed to officers who spotted him jumping the fence,

HOUSTON, Texas -- On Friday Texas´ Attorney General Greg Abbott and State Senator Wendy Davis -- both gubernatorial candidates -- debated in the state´s Rio Grande Valley. During the course of the debate, the issue of education came up. After hearing what Abbott had to say, a defensive Davis spoke when she was not supposed to and even interrupted a moderator multiple times--despite being told that it was not her turn to speak. The incident began after Davis asked Abbott a question that began, "Judge Dates has recently ruled against you and in favor of the school children of Texas,

It should come as no surprise when movies dovetail with the wider social conversation. But this week, the collision is occurring with particularly crystallizing force. To wit: The arrival of a Liam Neeson movie isn’t exactly news, although his new one, “A Walk Among the Tombstones,” is notable on several counts. For one thing, it marks the return of Neeson to the kind of substantive, mature roles his fans have craved while he’s been making science-fiction fantasies and franchise installments. As New York detective Matt Scudder, Neeson settles easily into a role that calls for equal parts muscular brawn and

Interpreting the Islamic State’s jihadi logic

What was the Islamic State thinking? We know it is sophisticated in its use of modern media. But what was the logic of propagating to the world videos of its beheadings of two Americans (and subsequently a Briton) — sure to inflame public opinion? There are two possible explanations. One is that these terrorists are more depraved and less savvy than we think. They so glory in blood that they could not resist making an international spectacle of their savagery — after all, they proudly broadcast their massacre of Shiite prisoners — and did not quite fathom how such a

The United States has made the same mistake in evaluating fighters from the Islamic State that it did in Vietnam — underestimating the enemy’s will, according to James Clapper, the director of national intelligence. Clapper’s comments came in a telephone interview Wednesday, in which he summarized the elements of a new National Intelligence Strategy released this week. Clapper also answered some broader questions about intelligence issues confronting the country. Asked whether the intelligence community had succeeded in its goal of providing “anticipatory intelligence” about the extremist movement in Syria and Iraq that has declared itself the Islamic State, Clapper said

Flashes of disagreement over how to fight the Islamic State are mounting between President Obama and U.S. military leaders, the latest sign of strain in what often has been an awkward and uneasy relationship. Even as the administration has received congressional backing for its strategy, with the Senate voting Thursday to approve a plan to arm and train Syrian rebels, a series of military leaders have criticized the president’s approach against the Islamic State militant group. Retired Marine Gen. James Mattis, who served under Obama until last year, became the latest high-profile skeptic on Thursday, telling the House Intelligence Committee

Less than 24 hours after Breitbart News first reported that Warren Buffett was scheduled to participate via conference call at Wednesday night´s California fundraiser for Kentucky Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Grimes campaign confirmed the billionaire investor has dropped out of the event. Campaign spokesperson Charly Norton told a reporter for a blog on Kentucky´s U.S. Senate race on Wednesday "Warren Buffett is not attending or participating in any event with Alison." When confronted with a PDF file of an invitation from the Grimes campaign to the fundraiser, Wednesday September 17 at the residence of Sharon Osberg

Guns are becoming the prop of choice in campaign ads around the country this midterm year. Take it as another sign that the Obama administration’s gun control push is running aground: Firearms have become this year’s go-to accessory for candidates of both parties seeking to advertise their toughness and willingness to fight. Republicans, and even some Democrats, in a dozen states are showing off their shooting skills in videos and television ads or posing with firearms in mailers, underscoring the backlash against federal and state proposals to restrict access to guns and ammunition.

Weeks before the State Department assured Americans that things were operating “normally” at its consulate in the Kurdish capital of Erbil in August, concerned procurement officials were quietly saying the advance of militants of the Islamic State, also known as ISIL or ISIS, meant the government needed to shell out tens of millions of dollars to counter a “rapidly deteriorating” security situation. On a no-bid basis, the State Department nearly doubled the size of a task order to defense contractor Triple Canopy, which had been hired to train Iraqi security forces but was asked to now perform diplomatic security and

After declaring war on the Tea Party and often showing nothing but contempt for grassroots conservatives that powered Republicans to record gains in the 2010 midterm elections, Karl Rove whined that the GOP may not take back the Senate this year because of the lack of enthusiasm for his establishment-approved candidates. Writing in the Wall Street Journal, Rove notes that even though Obama´s "job approval numbers are lousy, no Democrat in a competitive Senate race polls regularly above 50%, GOP enthusiasm is high, and independents are trending Republican... each passing day provides evidence as to why a GOP Senate majority is

CBS is putting its Hillary-inspired drama "Madam Secretary" on Sunday nights next to "The Good Wife." In Friday´s New York Times, TV critic Alessandra Stanley discussed the two shows and slammed Hillary. "Hillary Rodham Clinton is the obvious inspiration, but this is Hillary with a human face," she wrote. During the Cold War, reporters would suggest a kinder, gentler Marxist regime was "communism with a human face." Stanley continued: "Téa Leoni, who has a husky voice and a loose, engaging manner, is an unusually likable beauty. It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.

I know a lot of people are giddy at the prospect of Republicans taking the Senate this November, but that’s becoming less and less likely. It’s not because Democrats are rallying around a particular mission or set of candidates; it’s because Republicans and conservatives aren’t. It seems like I’m always writing on issues no one wants to hear are mistakes, such as messaging or social issues. But I don’t care. These things have to be said. If these columns are received like a gaseous cousin on a long car trip through the desert, so be it. Crack a window… If things continue on their current course, the GOP will not retake the Senate.

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”

The man who jumped the White House railing Sept. 19 deserves the right to live in President Barack Obama’s home, just as the president is allowing hundreds of thousands of border-jumping Central Americans to live in Americans’ homeland, says a new tongue-in-cheek petition posted at the White House website. “We urge President Obama to immediately and publicly recognize that Mr. Omar J. Gonzalez, an oppressed migrant, was merely looking for a better life when he entered the White House after going over the classist, divisive and needless fence,” says the petition, which was authored by D.A. King, founder of the Georgia-based

WASHINGTON — WHEN Willie Nelson invites you to get high with him on his bus, you go. The man is the patron saint of pot, after all, and I’m the poster girl for bad pot trips. SALEM, N.H. — Voters have soured on President Obama. National and statewide trends favor Republicans. And here in his new home state, Scott Brown’s truck is gaining speed. Analysts and recent polls have found Brown closing in on US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Democratic incumbent he is vying to unseat, in a race that has become increasingly nasty and expensive. Once largely dismissed by critics as an unlikely second act in a state he moved to only last year, Brown’s Senate bid is increasingly seen as a plausible path back to the US Capitol. Observers see a race that may be largely determined
