Anti-Catholic full-page ad in

The Hobby Lobby decision has ignited liberals and unleashed their prejudice. And this ad is shameful. The New York Times has a full-page ad in its print edition today that should elicit protests around the nation (but likely won’t). Here is a copy from the website of the Freedom From Religious Foundation that wrote and paid for the ad (snip) what is worse is this line from the ad: “All-male, All-Roman Catholic Majority on Supreme Court Puts Religious Wrongs over Women’s Rights.” Anti-Catholicism apparently is no problem for this group. Should there be a religious test for public office or the highest court

Well anti-Catholicism is the oldest prejudice in America. My ancestors had to leave Maryland because of it. I´m not surprised in the least.

Don´t laugh too loud. The severely conservative white board republican establishment would rather network at NARAL fundraisers than be seen at a local parish festival with a brat and an ear of corn. Karl Rove speaks of religious freedom like just another wedge issue to be avoided.

Do these people realize that there´s a "no religion test" clause in the Constitution?

They simply upheld a law that was passed by Congress and signed by the President (Clinton) - a law which had the support of a wide variety of support - including the ACLU.

Conservative talk show host Erick Erickson asks of the turmoil in Ferguson, "Must we have a dead white kid?" Well so what if we did have a dead white kid? Would people think differently about the police conduct in Ferguson? Erickson’s assumption is that non-blacks would be more upset about the shooting if the person shot were white. But, instead of responding with greater empathy to white kids shot by police, people might actually say something like the following: Good riddance. Glad they are dead. THUGS GET SLUGS! Well, they got a lead sandwich. I hope they enjoyed the free meal. The gene pool just

The photographer, Elizabeth Cecil, removed the photos without explanation. But the Washington Times has a pretty good reason. Twitter exploded about the photos with many making the comment that it was inappropriate for the president to be dancing while they were rioting in Ferguson. A Martha’s Vineyard photographer quietly deleted photographs of President Obama dancing during a birthday celebration on the island for Ann Jordan.

Since the start of this administration, Obama has plotted with jihadist forces in the Middle East to stir up conflict -- not, repeat not, to build stability. That is an essential point to understand about this administration. (snip) The more Obama meddles, the less influence we end up with. No sane regime trusts the United States anymore, simply because we have betrayed them. The kaleidoscope of shifting alliances keeps rotating, and so far the ready-to-explode Middle East has not found a new, stable state. It is teetering precariously on the edge of something much worse.

They say a prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, and this always seemed like hyperbole, until Friday night a Texas grand jury announced an indictment of governor Rick Perry. The “crime” for which Perry faces a sentence of 5 to 99 years in prison is vetoing funding for a state agency. The conventions of reporting — which treat the fact of an indictment as the primary news, and its merit as a secondary analytic question — make it difficult for people reading the news to grasp just how farfetched this indictment is. The Obama administration has done little to calm racial tensions as they spread from Manhattan to St. Louis to Los Angeles. Quite the opposite, some top officials have fueled African-American fears of racism with false accusations of anti-black discrimination. Attorney General Eric Holder’s race-baiting is no secret.
