Anti-Catholic full-page ad in
the New York Times today

American Thinker, by Ed Lasky

Original Article

The Hobby Lobby decision has ignited liberals and unleashed their prejudice. And this ad is shameful. The New York Times has a full-page ad in its print edition today that should elicit protests around the nation (but likely won’t). Here is a copy from the website of the Freedom From Religious Foundation that wrote and paid for the ad (snip) what is worse is this line from the ad: “All-male, All-Roman Catholic Majority on Supreme Court Puts Religious Wrongs over Women’s Rights.” Anti-Catholicism apparently is no problem for this group. Should there be a religious test for public office or the highest court

Well anti-Catholicism is the oldest prejudice in America. My ancestors had to leave Maryland because of it. I´m not surprised in the least.

Don´t laugh too loud. The severely conservative white board republican establishment would rather network at NARAL fundraisers than be seen at a local parish festival with a brat and an ear of corn. Karl Rove speaks of religious freedom like just another wedge issue to be avoided.

Do these people realize that there´s a "no religion test" clause in the Constitution?

They simply upheld a law that was passed by Congress and signed by the President (Clinton) - a law which had the support of a wide variety of support - including the ACLU.

It’s President Obama who urges illegal invaders from all over the world to jump the fence on the border, infiltrate the jobs and neighborhoods of regular folk, and proceed to leech off the American taxpayer. That’s why the intruder who recently jumped the fence at the White House and made it all the way across the North Lawn, through the North Portico, and into the executive mansion was promptly tackled and

ince the U.S. is largely moderate to conservative, it was hard to imagine how someone as far left as Barack Obama twice won the presidency. After the election was over, we learned how the Democrats’ data mining operation succeeded in bringing to the polls the outlying constituencies he needed to win (given the normally low turnout of the rest of the voters). Part of that mining for voters involved targeting messages designed to emotionally appeal to them, given that “belief” once formed in these peoples’ minds defeats any rational arguments. The big (and unfortunately successful) target of these emotional appeals was

The National Security Advisor of the United States did something astonishing yesterday. In the middle of a reporter’s questioning, she bolted from the podium of the White House pressroom, saying, “Nice to see you,” fleeing a situation she evidently was unable to cope with. The question that caused Ms. Rice to flee was a fairly simple one: whether or not the president has authorized the bombing of targets in Syria. Rice responded multiple times that the timing of strikes would not be released, but that was not the question at hand, and reporters pressed her on whether her boss had authorized

Let’s take a tour of seven minutes in September, starting in Cincinnati. A bus full of black students beat two sisters, on video, on the way home from school. A few days before that, another bus full of black people beat, then robbed a white man after a Labor Day party. Then they stole a bike. All the time laughing. All of it on high-definition video. Nations are much like living organisms. One fundamental function of life is to tell the difference between friends and foes. When a nation fails to do that it will soon die. For more than two centuries the United States has known how to tell friend from foe, because we’ve had a robust sense of identity -- we understood how “a nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal” would be tested over and over again, by enemies foreign and domestic, to see “whether any nation so conceived and so dedicated can long endure.” The West

It was once said, “religion is designed to comfort the afflicted and to afflict the comfortable.” Jesus’ parables – short stories with moral lessons – were likewise designed to afflict, to draw us in but leave us uncomfortable. These teachings can be read as being about divine love and salvation, sure. But, their first listeners – first century Jews in Galilee and Judea – heard much more challenging messages. Only when we hear the parables as Jesus’ own audience did can we fully experience their power and find ourselves surprised and challenged today. Here are four examples of Jesus’ teachings that everybody gets wrong: 1.

I know a lot of people are giddy at the prospect of Republicans taking the Senate this November, but that’s becoming less and less likely. It’s not because Democrats are rallying around a particular mission or set of candidates; it’s because Republicans and conservatives aren’t. It seems like I’m always writing on issues no one wants to hear are mistakes, such as messaging or social issues. But I don’t care. These things have to be said. If these columns are received like a gaseous cousin on a long car trip through the desert, so be it. Crack a window… If things continue on their current course, the GOP will not retake the Senate.

Washington - The Secret Service is coming under intense scrutiny after a man who hopped the White House fence made it all the way through the front door before being apprehended. President Barack Obama and his daughters had just departed the White House on Friday evening when an intruder scaled the north fence, darted across the lawn and into the presidential residence, where agents nabbed him. The security breach triggered a rare evacuation of much of the White House, with Secret Service officers drawing their guns as they rushed staffers and journalists out a side door.

Three and a half months have come and gone and the Pentagon has offered no clarity on what happened to alleged Army deserter and Taliban collaborator Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. Fellow soldiers and other critics fear the military’s now-delayed investigation is shaping up to be a whitewash. The case has become a political powder keg for President Obama. Since he traded five imprisoned Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, the US Government Accountability Office has declared the swap illegal, and nearly two dozen House Democrats have joined Republicans in officially condemning the move for making “Americans less safe.”
